However it's not as durable as I had thought from the pictures. I don't believe that I'll use it as intended in a vegetable garden as it will get far to much use. However it will look great around a flower or feature garden. Construction is all PVC that's very thin walled, pickets are 1/4" thick, maybe. Legs as well are pvc you can install rebar to better support fence and gate. If you know what your getting and in the right setting it will look very nice and last several years I would think.

There are also two decorative fence wings that sit on each side to give it decorative flair and more imporatantly stability. It is really designed to be installed with the Madison fence but I am using this gate as a stand-alone for my outdoor Christmas display making it look like all of the reindeer are in a fenced yard. The entire gate kit with wings is 61-3/8 in long and when installed it stands about 30 inches high. It looks great and best of all it is weather-proof and maintenance-free.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Review is for the Madison White Vinyl Madison Fence Gate My husband took about 20 min to put this Madison Vinyl Gate together. He says that the quality seems to be fairly good. The instructions and hardware were adequate. We did not have an area on our property to put this gate into the ground. So my husband modified the extending posts which you normally put into the ground by cutting the pointed ends off about 9 in. Then he cut 4 rectangle pieces of wood that were 5 in long and inserted them into the extended post so that when he fasten them to a 4x4 that was on the ground the plastic vinyl for the extended post would not collapse when he screwed them into the 4x4. This gate was incorporated with some existing vinyl fencing that we already had. He was really pleased with the way the finished product worked out. If someone is going to install this gate into the ground, it would probably be good to put the extended post into concrete for sturdiness. Virtually no maintenance is required as is the case for most outdoor vinyl products. The entire width of the gate kit with the wings is 61 3/8 in. Assembled Height is 30 in. Gate opening width is 36 in. Gate thickness is 1 1/2 in. Product weight is 11 lb. The reason we gave this an overall rating of 3 is because just putting this gate into dirt seems to be a little bit flimsy. But the overall finish product, put together, we really like the way it looks, and it will add interest and flair to your backyard. For us it worked out as a gate, and we are happy about that. Mfg warranty is 10 yr limited and returnable within 90 days.

All the parts were there which included the hardware. Just follow the step by step instructions and the advice given The assembly took around the 20 minute mark but as this brutal winter took a hold, it was not now possible to install the gate as planned. Instead, I just completed a dry run of this gate assembling the frame, without screwing then in place followed with the pickets. I was pleasantly surprised as I did think that this gate would be at best not as sturdy as other more expensive gates, but after completion, which included all the screws and brackets, it did exceed my expectations and especially the way the pickets slide down and click into the lower frame. An excellent gate kit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Madison White Vinyl Gate arrived last week, after opening the box I decide to hold off on the assembly allowing for more time to put it together. From the instructions included with the item, which are very well written. I was able to complete the assembly in 30-35 minutes in the cold garage. After I finished the assembly, I was please with the sturdiness of the gate. It is currently too cold to place in the ground. May have to secure with cement and just use as a decorative gate going into the garden as I was not able to find a fence by the same name to have a consistent look. With the 10 year guarantee I increased my rating and quality.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this today, but still to cold to get it into the ground. The vinyl looks like great quality and is much thicker than expected. It seems very well designed with screws and angled brackets supporting the structure to hold up against wind. This is definately going to need some dedicated time to assemble. One of my biggest worries is that it only sinks about 1' into the ground, although that will last forever in some area- here in Connecticut where we have cold winters and heavy frost heaves , I am afraid it will be heaved- I wish the instructions addressed this if it will be a problem... I think I will have to add some concrete in anchoring. I also was not thrilled to see only screws holding on the gate hinges, I am using this as more of a decorative touch to a garden so I barley ever use the gate. but under use I can see that becoming a problem. But there is a 10 year warranty so maybe I am overthinking it.

This is completely unassembled so give yourself some time if you decide to purchase this gate. The material seems study and durable, however i am not sure how it will do over the winter with cracking etc. Also, the cap pieces need to be glued on the gate, they aren't secure by themselves.

The diagram clearly indicates a height of 46 inches from ground to top of post. Well past the 6 ft man's waist. Worried this is untrue and that the actual gate is much smaller. Just ordered two to keep the dog in, big difference between 46" and 30".

It's untrue. The lowest point on the fence is about 24 to 28 inches depending on how far into the ground you sink it. We have small puppies so we sank it flush with the bottom rail. The longest post is only 39 inches and that includes the part that is buried in the ground. Your tallest post may be 28 to 30 inches inches depending how deep you bury the anchor posts.

This can be used as a stand alone gate between two walls. I would recommend using L brackets to connect the gate to your walls for extra stability.

Hi Kkmck, I am not sure what the width is between pickets! however if your worried about your pet, getting thru the pickets, no need to worry, we have it for that purpose also, no way any dog can get thru those pickets, your pet is safe.

Using this gate with the intended fence segments, how does one make it square? My math tells me that using 2 fence panels and 1 gate is 176" while using 3 fence panels is 171". Is there something I'm missing?
