[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Manchester 2 piece vinyl fence panels comes unassembled with final measurement of 92 inches x 42 inches. The Directions are easy to follow, The two main cross arms slide together with the two main post and screwed together by lining up the pre drilled holes and inserting two screws into each cross area. Then you insert all the pickets down in the same direction, by sliding them down through the top arm and into the bottom arm. The time to assemble is 20 minutes, final result looks good and being plastic the product should last a long time with the Manufacturer Warranty being 10 years. Not in the ground yet due to the ice and snow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Manchester Fence We were searching for a way to contain our new 5# ball of terror chihuahua. We have an invisible fence for our 25# dog but the collar is too large for the new member of our family. We found chain link and vinyl fences to be cost prohibitive. The semi-permanent Manchester fence by Zippity was not only priced right but also could be installed ourselves. We needed a double gate so we can mow with our tractor, and were able to combine two single gates with a drop rod to fit our purpose. We tried to drill the holes with a 1 3/4” auger but our soil had too many buried rocks, so we used a post hole digger for most. We’re very pleased with the result. Our newest family member also gives it two paws up! Zippity’s customer service is excellent. (The gate is model# ZP 19019).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from beautiful and easy to assemble but not sturdy on its own I knew what to expect when I purchased this fence so I’m not surprised it wasn’t very sturdy. Vinyl is flexible and the two posts are in the middle so if you try to attached several sections together it will look nice but won’t hold up if someone leans on it or a kid tries to climb in it. I used it to protect my garden from our kids swing area so I actually cemented 4x4 posts into the ground in between each section. I purchased white vinyl sleeves to go over so it would match the fence. Now it is beautiful and very sturdy. I decided to purchase another set of two to go on top of a retaining wall to make sure the kids don’t fall if they get too close. If you just want a cute decorative fence this is an easy affordable option. It took me about 10 minutes to put it together on its own. If you need it to be stronger it is very easy to reinforce with posts. Overall I am very very happy with the purchase. If you do end up reinforcing with posts, I suggest you attached the bottom horizontal beam, then put in the stakes, then add the top horizontal, and then insert the pickets. The instructions say to assemble the fence and then hammer into the ground, but given its flexibility it is very hard to install it squarely if you do it that way. Just a tip based on my experience..

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Assembly is quite easy, be sure to follow the easy to understand instructions. The pickets are numbered so if you install them in the correct order, the pickets have a uniform up and down slope to them. I mentioned to read and follow the directions which is something I didn’t do at first. I didn’t install the pickets in the correct order and it looked weird. Thankfully the directions also account for this and show you how to use a butter knife to “unlock” the pickets and remove them. Now the pickets are in the correct order and I’m trying to determine where to install the two six foot panels. This isn’t a heavy duty fence, it is a nice decorative piece to add to your lawn though. To pound the fence “stakes” into the ground, I used a chunk of an old 2x4 to sit on top of the bottom fence rail. Then I hit the 2x4 with a rubber mallet. It takes some patience to drive the stake in all the way, but it does work, eventually...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Enhancement Made Easy [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This picket fence is a slight bit heavy for the ladies but it not really difficult to assemble. There are a number of pieces, each fits together easily and all the pre-drilled holes are in alignment which avoid any frustration. I've put it together but I haven't placed it in the ground as of yet. The fencing is impressive looking and I quite sure it will enhance my home curb appeal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 48 H X 92 W MANCHESTER SEMI-PERMANENT VINYL FENCING [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I received the long thin box I knew I had to assemble the fence parts. After glancing at the instruction sheet I found it was quite easy to assemble the fence. The whole assembly only took about 15 minutes. The 2 vertical posts slide into the 2 horizontal rails and are secured with screws. Then pickets just slide into the rails and snap into the bottom rail locking them into place. I would not use a power drill to insert the screws as you could easily strip out the plastic. Digging the holes for the fence posts took longer than the assembly as the ground is a bit frozen this time of year. I managed to insert the fence posts into the ground, level the fencing and back fill them using a bit of water and it seems quite sturdy now. I used the joiner clips to fasten the 2 fence pieces together and that seems to make the fence seem even sturdier. The fencing is not made to take intense wear and tear but it looks quite good and adds to the overall appeal of my yard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Quality and Easy to Install [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's the middle of March in the Northeast. It's currently 12 degrees out with blowing snow and frozen ground. Installation will have to wait but I can write an accurate review because I already own its baby brother, I'm very pleased with it, and I want to add some additional fencing around the property. I installed the 30 in. version a few months ago (image below) so I'm familiar with the product. These are shipped in a 2 pack. Each panel, of the one I installed previously, measures 30 in. high by 58 in. wide. Each panel of the new fence measures 42 in. high by 92 in. wide. The height measurements are from the ground to the top of the posts after installation. The fence itself is not a disappointment. It's all vinyl with rust proof screws. It assembles easily and is a breeze to install. It ships broken-down in a long box with a simple to follow instruction sheet and all the parts needed. You can assemble this with a screwdriver and a drill. The holes needed to connect the sections together are not pre-drilled. If you choose to use a power screwdriver be delicate, it's vinyl and the screws can strip out with too much torque. The instructions say the first step is to screw the top and bottom rails to the posts then install the pickets. The locking tabs on the pickets will cause a problem if you do that. A better way is to pre-assemble everything before adding the screws. (See image below) This way the tabs only have to pass through, and snap into, the bottom rail. Also, the instructions say to hammer the posts into the ground using a wood block to prevent peening over the post tops. I chose to cut a scrap piece of furring strip to a point and hammered that into the ground first. It left undersized holes and the posts went in with just a light hammering. This fence is virtually maintenance-free and should last for years and years. In the event of a problem Madison includes a 10 year warranty.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Manchester vinyl semi permanent fence by Zippity is good quality with the vinyl being pretty sturdy. It was very easy for me to put together by screwing together the 2 longer horizontal and vertical pieces and then all the vertical slats are numbered and just "slide in" to the pre-cut spaces for them. Its sold 2 fence panels per box so you get over 14 ft which i think is very convenient. Fence can be temporary or permanent by using cement and look like they might last a long time. I have bought several more panels for a garden enclosure project although feel the price is a bit high at $119 if you need more than 2 (1 box) to make a fence, okay if your only bridging a gap etc. Online customer service support is very good.

Are the posts that go into the ground also plastic?

Asked by: SF
Yes, the entire fence is constructed of vinyl. The posts are hollow, so driving into the ground is quite easy. If you have rocky or hard ground - I suggest you dig a hole to the depth you need, install the posts, then backfill.

I'm trying to hide a big green utility box and I have sunk the posts 5 or 6 inches into the ground, will that be enough to hold the fence? I called the DIG number and they marked the power lines, but I was afraid to dig down further. Do I need to go deeper or leave as is?
Asked by: Linda
It likely depends on the soil. Does it feel sturdy enough to withstand wind? We use ours to enclose our yard for dogs so we went much deeper, but since it is only for a visual it doesn't necessarily need to be deeper.

Is there an end post to finish it off?

Is there an end post to finish it off?
Asked by: Kim
Although there is no separate end post available there's no reason why you can't cut off the last five pickets to create the look of one. The end caps on the removed rail sections can be moved to the cut ends beyond the posts to finish them. Keep your cut about an inch away from the holes the post passes through to retain the structural integrity, Since this is vinyl it's easily cut with any fine tooth saw.
