Rated 4 de 5 de par worked great when had no power for 5 days few pulls and started right up, don't forget oil when you buy it otherwise it's a trip back to store. ran all the household essentials.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Good back up Generator for the price I have only had the unit for a month and used it for about 2-3 hours total. The generator fired right up after adding oil and fuel. I would recommend this for power outages and more occasional use. This isn't the right unit for the RV camper (it's pretty loud) or day to day use on a construction site. I'm very happy with it for spending $300 bucks.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Easy to use BUT! Bought one during recent NE snow storm power outage (5 days). lasted less than one day before it died and would not restart. Called the 800 # very helpful but said there was a known problem with the oil level sensor. HD took it back for and exchange no problem.

My Generator will not start

Did you leave gas in it? Most common cause of OPE problems is fuel related issues. I'd bet $5 your carburetor is full of orange marmalade that once was gas...

Will not stay running

Generator has a low oil sensor... If oil is too low or if unit is not level, it is very likely it is shutting itself off to prevent engine damage. Level and consult manual for proper read of dipstick. While more complicated things are possible, it IS new and VERY unlikely to have some mysterious problem. Please read manuals and troubleshooting guide before returning to seller...

Is this generator big enough to power a water well and small heater in the event of a power outage?

Probably. Most heaters (even small ones) use 1500 watts. That leaves 4500 running watts for your well pump. The "surge" wattage will accept the hit that starting the well pump will induce and not toss the breakers. The way to be certain is to know more about the well. Some wells are deeper, have bigger pumps and need more juice. You'd likely be able to run 3-4 heaters (if it's cold, it's cold) and only plug in the well when you need water. A small amount of water will be available in the water tank for between hook ups. If you are cold, the best use of the gas you have on hand will be to max out the wattage on heaters. Since you are burning gas making electricity available, it's best to use it. BTW...How many gas cans do you have? Extension cords? Heavy extension cords? You have a spare spark plug? Is the oil in engine appropriate for the ambient temperatures? Oh, and don't even ask me if you need to COMPLETELY drain the gas from it for storage. I assume you'd want it to start right up the next time you need it. Leaving gas in something you use infrequently will mean you get a new generator every time the power goes out. Oh wait, never mind. They're all sold out!
