Rated 5 de 5 de par Great toilet As a mechanical engineer, I have researched toilet performance for my projects, both residential and commercial. I have renovated my own houses for the last 30 years and have used these Cadet toilets in each one. The large glazed trap is the key. I probably count over a dozen of these that I've put in in four houses over those years. I have NEVER had to plunge one of these toilets in all that time! That is great performance. I once put in 80 of these in a large campground...replacing older 3 to 5 gpm toilets and cut 10,000 gallons per day for a typical holiday weekend with little loss of performance... and campers put some very strange things into campground toilets ;-) I will continue to install exclusively American Standard toilets as long as I have anything to say about it.

Rated 3 de 5 de par look good but wont flush large turds heavy toilet so difficult to move and install due to weight

Rated 2 de 5 de par Excellent Product, when it works The product worked great at first, but in less than 2 years the flow value would not stop water flow at the proper level. The product paperwork that came with the toilet did not provide information for adjustment to the flow value. Since I had registered the product in the proper timeframe factory replacement of parts was quick and easy. I expect the replacement part within 5-7 days

Rated 5 de 5 de par LOVE IT! I replaced a regular size toilet in a small bathroom. I was amazed at how much difference the 2403 made in the room. First, it looks modern and sleek. Second, it SAVES you room. It made a small half bath seem a lot larger. I am in the process of replacing the 3 other toilets in my home with this same model, 1 in my master bath and the other 2 will be in full baths as well. I have not had any issues with it clogging, even though it's set to use the smallest amount of water. At first the price seemed a little high, but considering the fact that it's saving water, looks great... it's easy to justify.

Installed model 2403.012 (compact cadet 3 right height) toilet January 21,2013. Flush the toilet, it will fill, then water leaks out of tank, and will activate the fill valve again. Is there an adjustment we're missing or do we need a new part somewhere?

Posée par: Straub Beer Drinker
Sounds like the flapper is leaking allowing water to leak into the bowl.

My cadet takes a long time to refill. Is the pump weak and need replacing? Is this normal? How can I correct this?

Posée par: Anonyme
Slow fill is caused by sediment buildup in fill valve, supply line or shut off valve. This is not uncommon if you have not used the shut off valve for a long time and then when you do turn it off some of the scale in the valve will flake off and get stuck somewhere. Disconnect supply line and see if you have good pressure at the shut off valve. Check that supply line is clear. Then clean or replace seal in fill valve or just replace the whole fill valve. If you clean it out and it doesn't help you can call us for assistance. If your cadet has been bought within the last 5 years it is still under warranty.

I have installed this toilet, but for two weeks have been trying several approaches to get one of the bolts securing the tank to the bowl to stop leaking. I have tried replacing the washers, working with how tight the bolts are and have inspected for any cracks, but haven't seen any. One bolt works just great, but the other is being difficult. Any help you can offer would be much appreciated! Thanks!
Posée par: Anonyme
I had the same problem. I ended up tightening the bolts way tighter than one would think would be necessary. I thought the porcelain was about to crack but it eventually stopped leaking. Several weeks later I found a slow leak and had to tighten them even more. I ensured to follow the instructions (washer in correct position, etc). So I recommend tightening them (by hand) very tight and then check it one & two weeks later in case it starts leaking.

What do you recommend to clean the inner bowl?

Posée par: Anonyme
You can use any toilet bowl cleaner as long as it is not abrasive. You can also use a soft nylon brush. There is a cleaner called The Works (thick) and it is a good cleaner.

I want to buy and install myself a Cadet 3 toilet with right height and elongated bowl (2386 series). My floor connection is 11.5 inches from the wall. Can I use one with 12 inch rough?

Posée par: Bill
This should work, but be aware as this is a 12' rough-in, that if the tank ends up hitting the wall then a 10" tank will be necessary. Make sure you are not buying a "compact" or "spacesaver" as these are 12" bowls using 10" tanks so that an elongated bowl could fit in the space of a round front bowl.

Is there a model number located on the toilet bowl? Is so where is it? Thank you.

Posée par: Anonyme
The model number is located on the inside back wall of the tank. It will start with a 2 or a 4.

One of my Cadet 3 toilets has streaks of black coming from the holes under the rim that put fresh water into the bowl after flushing. We have to clean the bowl at least once a week. My plumber and the local Water Engineer have suggested that I use a cleansing tablet (chlorine or bleach) in the toilet tank to kill the fungus, mold, or bacteria assumed to be causing the problem -- the toilet is in a high humidity room. I am reluctant to use a caustic substance that might ruin the plumbing mechanism in the tank. What's the problem and how do I fix it?
Posée par: Bill
If you use intank cleaners it will void your warranty as they are abrasive to the internal parts. You will need to use some white vinegar to clean the tank as the vinegar will kill any bacteria. You may have to do this often if you have hard water or if the bacteria comes back.

I am trying to replace the flush valve on what I think is an American Standard Compact Cadet Right Height toilet. With most toilets I would detach the tank and then remove the bolt on the bottom holding the flush valve. But since the tank is attached, I do not know how to remove the flush valve. Does it just unscrew?
Posée par: Gabriel
There should be 3 screws beneath the flapper that when loosened will allow the mounting tabs to rotate. This will allow for the removal of the flush valve.
