Rated 1 de 5 de par Ashley heater. My experiece I ordered one of these, which was a special order. A week later, I brought it home. I called my plumber to come and install it. What a joke! We took it out of the box and that's as far as we got. No instructions. So my plumber left and he told me he would be back when I downloaded the instructions. I went online and found the PDF file for installing the heater. A picture caught my eye, there were suppose to be 3 metal tags attached to the heater. It cant be installed without them. I had to return it. I'm still without a heater and I am running out of time. I'm not going to order from a company that can't get everything in the box, especially the instructions.

It will not stay on; it has been examined for flaws in the installation - NONE!!! It is installed correctly and DOES NOT WORK! Needless to say it DOES NOT meet my expectations because IT DOES NOT WORK! The feature that stands out most - IT DOES NOT WORK! I will not consider Ashley Hearth Products for any other projects I plan. I have tried for two days to get someone in this company to speak to me about this product. I am put on hold and passed around from one department to another and no one will actually discuss this problem. Ashley Hearth Products suck!

Rated 1 de 5 de par You should read this before you buy the Ashley Stove (or ANYTHING from US Stove Company) We ordered the Ashley Direct Vent heater for one of our cabins and spent about 2 hours in the installation process only to find that it wouldn't light. After much time on the telephone with the company and about 3 days of back and forth, they established that the ignitor was malfunctioning and that a new one would need to be mailed. We asked them how long it would take to arrive as we were anticipating temps going down into the low teens for the rest of the week. The customer service agent said that she would check with her manager about getting 2nd day air delivery on their defective part given how cold it was getting at night. We didn't hear back from her so assumed that the part must be on it's way. Two days, then three days came and went so we called them back and left a message with the customer agent's direct line. She never responded. Two days after that we called back to the main customer line (be aware that US Stoves is a HUGE company with tons of products and various extensions for various products so make sure you know what line you are calling about ahead of time) and finally got a hold of someone after a long hold time. The representative said that yes indeed they had shipped the ignitor and that it had gone out via UPS ground, which would take about 10-12 DAYS to get to us. When we said that this was unacceptable given our predicament and this being this cabin's only source of heat, the rep said "Don't get ugly with me". Needless to say this was a futile conversation. To date, 16 days after first contact with them we still have not received the replacement part. To make matters worse, we put in an extra few hours trying to troubleshoot what was wrong with it/trying all of their suggestions and now when the part comes, it is up to us to take the unit apart and install the ignitor. If it turns out that this part doesn't do the trick, we will need to hire a local installer BUT they will only cover up to $30 per hour. Around here, there is no one that does anything for $30. We would in a SECOND just abandon this unit and get a new heater from a new company; however, we now have all of the holes cut in the walls in anticipation of this unit. There are so many ways that the company could have dealt with this situation which would have made it frustrating but not infuriating. The issue is that customer service is not trained well in dealing with these issues and they won't allow anyone to get beyond them. We run 3 successful internet based businesses and understand how to offer good customer service. At no point did we feel like they cared at all about our situation and in each interaction, they were rude, unhelpful, uncaring, and unprofessional. This is not a company that values repeat customers or developing a relationship with their customers. We will never ever purchase another heater from US Stoves again.

Rated 4 de 5 de par I bought the stove to install in an unheated summer bungalow that I sometimes use for duck huntin... I bought the stove to install in an unheated summer bungalow that I sometimes use for duck hunting in the winter. The unit arrived in about 5 days and I picked it up from my local home depot. The carton looked like it went thru the mill but the contents were undamaged. The installation was fairly easy. I connected the stove to a regulated 40lb propane tank with 3/8 copper tubing into 3/8 black pipe with a 3" drip cap. The heater started up with no issues once the air was run out of the line. Because it was 28 degrees out and I have it in a 750 square ft room, the heater ran full blast for three days. I have since used it again for another three days. I am very satisfied with this heater and plan to buy another.

Rated 3 de 5 de par I returned this product not because there was anything wrong with it but because after it arrived... I returned this product not because there was anything wrong with it but because after it arrived I was trying to figure out the best location to place it. Our home is small and all our outside walls have windows. I was planing on putting this heater under a window but then after calling the company found out that it was not legal to put them in this location. I ended up sending both Ashley heaters back which Home Depot with no problems. I did do my do diligence before I purchases these items. There is nothing in the brochure, PDF doc. nor any info I could find in the reviews I read saying these unites could not be placed under a window. I did not find out until after I contacted the company which was after the fact. I decided to go with one vent less heater in the kitchen on an interior wall.

I am placing the unit under a window. Can I vent it so that the exhaust is 3 foot from the window?

This unit cannot have any vertical. You may only use the piping that comes with the kit.

Is there a way to estimate the gas consumption of this unit? For example, running 4 hours per day for 30 would use X amount of gas.

Unfortunately i can not give you a good estimate as there are several factors that go into determining this. However, here is some basic information about how many gallons are used the reach a certain btu out put. "It takes 1 Btu of heat to raise the temperature of 1 pound of water 1 degree Fahrenheit. LP-gas (liquefied petroleum gas) weighs 4.24 pounds per gallon and there are 91,502 Btus per gallon, or 21,548 Btus per pound." For more specific estimates i would contact a local gas expert.

The piezo igniter allows for you to push the knob down to light the unit and spark the fire to start. Once its lit, you can adjust the temperature with the knob.
