Rated 5 de 5 de par Love this paint! I used this paint, and loved it. I didn’t sand or prime, I just gave my cupboards a good clean with TCP it took three coats but I love them, now to do the bottom ones, to finish off my kitchen.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Don't waste your money or time I bought this paint to repaint my kitchen cupboards that were an antique white. Big mistake! Three coats later and a lot of time and effort, this paint is terrible. The sheen is between eggshell and flat, NOT satin. Every little mark shows up on this paint. And to top it off it has a blue tint to it. It' is horrible, I'm so angry at myself for buying this paint, never mind all the work I put into painting. Now I have to start over with a different paint, and it certainly will not be a Behr product. This is the second time Behr has disappointed me.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Much less sheen than other Satin Alkyd paints It’s a good alkyd paint for certain applications. It is a very low sheen satin. It is not a typical satin sheen like other Alkyd paints. If you want an alkyd with a medium sheen, go with their semi gloss.

Rated 1 de 5 de par One year later, this paint is awful. We painted out cabinets last summer with this, prepped according to the instructions from the service rep, who was very knowledgeable and helpful. We sanded and degreased and then did 3 coats of this, with a day or more dry time in-between. This paint stayed sticky and tacky for over a week and when it finally cured, it was easily scratched. I was wiping dried food off one of the cabinets with a cotton dish cloth several months later and took some of the finish off. I don't know if we got a can that was defective or what, but this is the worst paint I've ever used. Our cabinets look bad a year on, covered in scratches and spots where the finish has rubbed off from normal cleaning with a damp cloth. If I could do it over again, I'd just use the semi gloss. We did our baseboards with it, and sure it chips a bit, but it looks way better than the cupboards.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Splotchy Finish I bought this to paint a piece of furniture. The surface was cleaned, sanded, primed etc, all using products recommended by Home Depot staff. After 3 coats, using a very light colour, the finish is uneven, and splotchy. It looks terrible. I will be purchasing another brand to redo the job. I’m not happy about the time wasted by the outcome of using this paint.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Good paint but long cure time I used this paint to refinish my cupboard doors. Nice melamine texture, applies well with a sponge roller. It is too thick from the can so I reduced it with 1/3 water to 2/3 paint. Dries in about an hour, but takes a few weeks to cure to a hard durable finish. hence 4 stars not 5

Rated 5 de 5 de par Worked great on baseboards and doors Used this paint to finish doors and baseboards. I'm very pleased with the results. In the cold wet basement it was slow to dry. Outside in the warm spring sun it dried quickly. I used a 10mm roller on the doors and frames and used a cheap foam roller on the baseboards.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great results I have done my kitchen cabinets over with this paint over a year ago and they still look the same the day I painted them. The paint went on smooth, it is tough and scrubs easily. I would for a project like this buy this product again.

Can this be used to paint interior sliding closet doors?

Hi Sande, thanks for writing in with your question. Yes, the Alkyd Paint can be used on closet doors. The surface should be clean, dry, and scuff sanded if the previous coating has a glossy finish to promote adhesion. Good luck with your project! -Giovanna

can this paint been used to paint kitchen cabinets which are in melamine ? if yes should it be sanded?

Hi dave - Thank you for your question. This product can be applied to melamine kitchen cabinets. To ensure the best adhesion, we recommend scuff sanding the surface with medium grit sandpaper, making sure the surface is clean and dry, then priming with our Kitchen, Bath & Trim Primer & Sealer before painting. I painted a coffee table and end tables with this product. Would I be able to put a varathane coating over it to avoid scratching and chipping?
