Rated 1 de 5 de par Not sure this primer did much good! Carefully etched and primed and then painted my garage floor with Behr products and got a finish that wasn't durable. Finish didn't stand up to wet car tires very well.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Almost perfect I was told to apply this product before applying a concrete floor paint. It's purpose would be to work as a sealer/primer. I guess it does the trick but I can't tell since I didn't paint any area without first applying it. It applies easily like it says and maintains a sticky-ish texture for a while that gives the impression that it'll adhere well to the concrete floor. One small weakness, I guess, but one small patch of my floor had some oil imbeded in the concrete. I thought I had thoroughly removed it but I guess I didn't because at that same spot, this product let go and both it and the paint on top of it flaked off several months later. Other than that, it seems to be worth it.

For an Exterior Concrete wall, do I need to apply a special concrete sealant prior to using this Behr concrete primer? I want to paint the wall afterwards. Currently it is unfinished and does not leak or have signs of water infiltration

Posée par: Mandarine68
Hello Mandarine68, Thanks for writing in. No, the Behr Premium Concrete & Masonry Bonding Primer should only be applied to bare surfaces. Please note this product isn’t recommended for a wall project. I suggest reaching out to your local Home Depot for a suitable product recommendation. I hope this information helps and good luck with your project. Best, Roxana N.

I've been told that I can paint my ceramic tiles in the bathroom shower but that I should sand them first then use a bonding primer before painting with latex paint. What type of bonding primer should I use?

Posée par: dorothy
Hi dorothy, thank you for your question. Our Bonding Primer can be used on concrete and concrete-like floor applications to promote better adhesion of your topcoat. However, we would not recommend using it on tile or areas that will be submerged under water. So, we would recommend checking with an associate at your local home improvement store for a more suitable product recommendation. Best of luck with your project. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! -Joanna

Can I use this floor primer on plywood?  I want to put a leveller on plywood and then install some linoleum strips.

Posée par: Bruce
Hi Bruce, thank you for your question. Our Bonding Primer is meant to be used on concrete and concrete-like surfaces only. So, we wouldn't recommend using it on your plywood flooring. We'd suggest checking with your local home improvement store for a more suitable product recommendation. Hope you have a wonderful weekend, and best of luck with your project! -Joanna

I am putting a 2 part 100% solid epoxy on my garage floor. Would this be a good primer to put on the garage floor before the 2 part epoxy? I diamond grinded my floor already.

Posée par: Rick
Hi Rick, Thanks for writing in. Typically we recommend using the Bonding Primer (no. 880) before using our 1-Part Epoxy Concrete & Garage Floor Paint. It will probably be okay to use but it may be best to check with the manufacturer of the 2-Part epoxy that you plan on using just to make sure it can be coated over a water-based bonding primer. Please feel free to reach out to us directly if you have additional questions. Best regards, Takhari

what would be the best primer to use on a concrete floor to prepare it for adhesive vinyl plank?

Posée par: brad
Hi brad! Thanks for your question. Since our primers are made to be top-coated with paints or stains, it's best to reach out to the manufacture of the adhesive for recommendations; they should be able to recommend a primer for their product to adhere to. Good luck! Jeanette P.

Use this on already painted surfaces?

I have a driveway that I am going to restain and seal. Should I use this bonding primer after using a stripper to get off any old sealer and stain? The lady at Home Depot told me to put this on before I stain but the instructions say do it only on uncoated surface. I don't want to make a mess! Or, should I just strip, clean and then restain my driveway without this bonding primer?
Posée par: Anonyme
Behr's Bonding primer should only be applied on bare substrates. Solid concrete stains can be applied over clean substrates that are in sound condition. It is always recommended to scuff sand the surface if the existing finish has a sheen.
