Rated 1 de 5 de par Don't waste your money on this.... Used this product twice within 4 years even though it is guaranteed to last up to six years. Each time prep was necessary with n. 63 cleaner and n. 64 stripper. And even with all the prepping the results still turned out flaky after a winter season. I have filed a complaint with BEHR but they have ensured that it should not flake with proper application, thus they blame my technique being incorrect. I obviously won't be using BEHR products again since they think I'm not using it right. I don't want to waste my time, labour, and money for this product that does not stand up to their guarantee. See my pictures for the results you should expect after 2 winter seasons.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Buyer Beware This product is terrible and I wish I'd never used it! I used it about 2 months ago (on my brand new deck) at which time I was disappointed with how it applied. It was really streaky and looked like a paint, not a stain. Now 2 months later, it's already flaking and chipping off. I'm scared to see what my deck will look like after a long and cold winter, if it already looks like this. I'm sure next spring I'll have to spend a bunch of money and tons of time to strip off this garbage and start ALL over.

Rated 1 de 5 de par TERRIBLE - DO NOT BUY!! I applied two coats of this stain (as recommended by the manufacturer) to my 100% cedar deck in the summer of 2015, after ensuring the deck was properly prepared (cleaned, dried, and lightly sanded with a rough grit sandpaper.) It is now less than one year later (summer of 2016) and the stain is peeling very badly on all the horizontal surfaces (e.g. on nearly every deck board.) My deck looks awful, embarrassing in fact - and now I need to spend extra money and time to remove this garbage and apply a proper product. DO NOT BUY!

Rated 1 de 5 de par Not a good product I have used Behr indoor paint and loved it but this outdoor stain is awful. We intended to apply a semi-transparent mixed stain to our 500 sq ft. 2 year old pressure treated deck. It was May and quite warm out. We cleaned the deck with Behr deck cleaner product and waited till the next day (remember this is only 2 year old wood). We applied as per instructions. I was immediately disappointed because it looked solid and not semi-transparent at all. You could hardly see the wood grain. It was tacky for a few days but dried well. Still diappointed with the trasparency though. After it was dry, the deck always seemed very slippery ( when wet or dry). Now spring has come and it is peeling up in areas that are exposed to the weather elements (half of our deck is cobvered over but still open). We did not have any winter salt on that deck and it is peeling in less than a year. Now I don`t know what to do or how to fix it. Don`t buy this product.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Peeled after one winter Applied as per directions and after the snow melted it looked like garbage. Peeling all over. Ironically, stripping it with Behrs own stripper took lots of hard scrubbing to get the spots that hadn’t peeled. Too bad because it looked great for the first few months before winter.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Ideal Fence Stain I used this on my new 200' fence year and a half ago, and it still looks fantastic. Constantly get compliments on my fence. Used the wood cleaner first, then used a wide brush to apply.

Rated 1 de 5 de par terrible product I refinished my deck with this product after a total stripping, sanding and pre-treatment. Followed all of the directions on the can. AFTER TWO WINTERS THIS STAIN IS PEELING OFF OF MY DECK! So much for a '6 year' deck lifetime. I would not recommend this product.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Looked great initially - total fail over winter Last summer I rebuilt my deck, and chose this stain to refinish it. I followed all the instructions for application, and it looked great. However when then snow melted this spring, I found the mess in the attached photo. That part of the deck was not shoveled or otherwise abraded over winter. It just peeled away. Extremely disappointing

Is this product water based? I heard that water based stains are the best ones to use on MicroPro Sienna Pressure Treated Wood.

Will it work on MicroPro Sienna pressure treated wood? Will it make it a lighter color and more like cedar??

Posée par: Niloc
Hi Niloc, Thank you for writing in. Behr Premium Semi-Transparent Waterproofing Wood Stain and Sealer can be applied to pressure treated wood. Because it's semi-transparent, the color of the wood can have a major impact on what the final appearance looks like. You can sample this stain with a small 8 oz. sample (https://thd.co/3waxHTW) before starting a new project. I hope this information was helpful. Please feel free to reach out with any additional questions you may have. Best of luck with your project! ~Doris

Can this be used on interior wood like faux beans?

Posée par: Ryan
Hi Ryan, thank you for your question. As it turns out, the Premium Semi-Transparent Wood Stain & Sealer is recommended on exterior surfaces only. Additionally, we have not tested our stains on faux beams and cannot say how well our products will hold up on this type of surface. I recommend reaching out to the manufacturer for information on a compatible coating. Have a great day! - Randy

We have applied wood filler before staining, will this semi transparent stain cover the wood filled area? Or we need to use non transparent ones?

Posée par: Somy
No you will see the filled area.  If the wood is older or repaired do solid stain

What's the difference between semi transparent and transparent stain? and can the semi trans parent be applied over transparent stain fence?

Posée par: MGregory
Hi MGregory, thank you for your question. The Transparent and Semi-Transparent stains will show the wood grain of the stain. The Semi-Transparent will show more color and less wood grain. Both stains need to be applied to bare wood, so if you want to use the Semi-Transparent Stain, the Transparent Stain should be removed first. I hope this information helps. Good luck with your project! -Giovanna
