Extremely flimsyThe top snapped off just from touching it (to change the lightbulb). So disappointed since I had hired an electrician to install this not too long ago.

Bostonian 1 light outdoor black post lantern with water glassI bought the lamp for an apartment cooperation building. I did not personally install it. The super of the building did. It was to replace the ones that were previously there so it might have been a little easier to install since it was a replacement. He did mention that there had to be cement around the base for security of it. I love the post itself. The lamp is nice, but I think its just a little to small for the height and style. Other than that I am satisfied with the product. Its a little old fashioned looking but its a nice look if that's what you like vs. more modern. I think the price is fair... paid approximately 240.00 for all it. I previously purchased just a lamp and had to put all the parts together. Some of them were discontinued! Returned that and bought this one.. no hassles! Good buy.

As advertisedNo reason to give this fewer than 5 stars. The delivery did take about a week and a half, but this was clear upon ordering. The finish of the lamp is that of an antiqued bronze, with traces of reddish "rust" showing through. I had been concerned it was going to be more of a reddish color overall, but it is not; it's a dark, unobtrusive color. The base installs easily if you have a triangular configuration of bolts embedded in a concrete base, which appears to be a standard in the industry: I used the bolts that were in place for my previous lamp and they fit perfectly into the base of this lamp; I was even able to use the matching nuts included with this lamp on the old bolts. The top of this lamp appears exactly as it does in the image. The lamp includes panes of real glass, which arrived intact. They were a bit tedious to install, involving unscrewing and re-screwing two small screws for each pane, and it would have been easy to chip the panes or lose one of the small screws (if you're working in a bed of pachysandra, which I was), but if you're careful there's nothing unduly difficult involved. It might have been a good idea to to install the panes of glass indoors on a table, but this would have risked dinging it during installation, but worth considering. The electric cord supplying the lamp was fairly thick, which I think makes it durable, but also made it difficult to feed through the fairly narrow length of the hollow lamp post. I ended up taping it to a fiberglass flexible wire pull and pulling it through I using that. Overall, I am satisfied with the product and my wife and I agree: it looks very nice!
