Rated 3 de 5 de par HEAVY, limits it usefullness. heavy and shorter than expected reach. It allows you to cut thorny bush stalks like pyracantha without entering the danger zone. Note chain saws are useless for less than 3/4". For extra weight there should be more reach. As chain saw it is heavier than regular electrics, and 1/2 bar length. Uses oil quickly. An extension would make it more useful, but design does not lend to such. Once in place it is easier than manual hand pole saws, in the 1/3 the reach of a pole saw it does have. Longer length would improve balance, and cure frustrating lack of reach. Look at the battery trimmer accessory units as they have extensions available, and the motor balances the saw attachment making it balanced, and with a useful reach.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Works as advertised This items works as advertised and priced ok (Pro). Con... Could have been designed or made with a lighter electric drive motor...why? If you want to use this item for a prolonged period it gets heavy... Remember it's designed to act as a branch trimmer with an extension and after an hour of trimming you will get a workout. If you only have a trees to trim then .. no worries, this will work out fine. Also, if you are not used to operating or using a chainsaw... you will have to put a major portion of the saw together with just "average" directions. So, if you are handy and don't have an issue of "assembly required" this item will be fine for you. BTW... manufacturer could have included a starter bottle of bar/chain oil.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great Saw BUT... For what it is , it is a very nice saw. My comments are more about my inattention to detail when buying this saw, rather than the saw itself. I do not know what I saw that caused me to buy this saw. What I wanted was a saw that would extent to at least 10+ feet and had a cutting blade of at least 10 inches. What I got was a saw that extends to a whopping 4' to 5.5' without saw head. shy 7' with saw head. The blade length is 10" but only has about 7" for cutting. So, even standing in the bed of my PU, I am 6'4", I can only cut at about 12+ feet. Far too short for what I need. Standing on the ground the saw is useless to me unless I remove the pole and add the handle assembly to use as a small hand held chainsaw, which I have done, and it worked well. If I can find a pole that extends to 10+ feet this saw would be adequate for my purposes but as it is now is limited in my application. I will recommend this saw for those that have need for a saw that replaces limb loppers for small/short trees and shrubs. Otherwise look elsewhere.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Very Useful Saw I had never used a pole saw before, and had always used gas powered chainsaws. I thought I'd try this one out when planning to clear a LOT of smaller limbs and bamboo on my property. It worked exceptionally well. I highly recommend it. I used it practically non-stop over a 5 day period, filling 45 contractor size bags with what I had cut. I had great service from this saw. It is far more convenient to just pick up a corded saw and immediately begin cutting than it is to have to start and stop a gas powered one. Using my gas chainsaw I'd still be out there - days later. This saw is nearly as powerful as a gas one and is perfect for small to medium limbs. I misunderstood one of the instructions in the owner's manual, and broke a knob on the saw. The customer support at this company (NATI Tools) is first rate. They had a replacement knob in the mail for me the day after I contacted them - under warranty. I would still use the gas chainsaw for larger work, but for anything up to about 4" diameter this saw is definitely the way to go.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Easy Assembly Has a lot of power for such a small unit. Overall length from chain bar tip to handle butt is seven and a half feet. A work height of ten feet is possible. The unit stores easily and switching from pole use to hand held is a snap. Good value.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Good enough, but no customer support I got the saw out of the box, the manual only showed how to convert it to a chainsaw. The problem was it already came as that, so it took a little figuring out. When the unlock knob wouldn't move, I tried calling customer support but they were already closed. I called back the next day, but no one was available to take my call so I left a message. No one ever called me back. I was finally able to resolve it myself and the saw seems to work alright now, just don't plan on having any support.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Probably a 5, but . . . I got this on sale & after another product was discontinued. So far I can only comment on the saw without the pole attachment. The saw is very easy to use & cuts through pretty good size limbs I'd say 6-8 inches in circumference. As a woman the weight of the saw is not a problem, well balanced. I haven't been able to try the pole because I snapped the plastic screw that holds the cutting bar in the attachment. Partly my fault for breaking it, but partly the poor instructions. The instructions are printed from what looks like a copy of a copy. It also assumes that the chain & bar are connected to the pole & you want to attach it to use as the saw. Trying to read backwards is not my forté I guess. Problem now is the saw won't work because I must have turned the knob enough to activate a kill switch but can't disconnect the saw from the body. I tried calling the manufacturer's number for service only to be put on hold forever so I tried using the website email. I have yet to receive a response. I'm not happy with the instructions or lack of the manufacturer service response, but if I get the saw working again I'm sure I can get through the rest of the overgrown yew hedge I was tackling. I would recommend the saw, just note there are plastic pieces that will break if forced. I can't really fault HD because the price was right & delivery was fine (not available in my store location).

Rated 5 de 5 de par Exceeded expectations Easy to handle, I've cut tree branches up to (3) inches, verses (1) to (2) inches as advertised, very tough for its size, exceeded my expectations!

How do you take it from hand held to pole?

Posée par: Roy
It detached for the hand held, and slides on to the pole. However, this is a discontinued item.
