If you get them too hot they will fail. If you do not use a hammer drill they will be difficult to use and you will more than likely get them too hot. Masonry bits are not intended to be used with a standard drill. As long as you use a quality hammer drill you will be happy with these bits. I have a set on my truck that are about 5 years old. Use the drill on the lower speed setting if it has two and make sure you don't overheat it.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Super Sharp! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These drill bits are super sharp. I used one to drill some starter holes for my tapcon screws. I was surprised that the cement didn't dull the bit. It did a fantastic job. They are made of a high grade metal so they are going to last me for a while. These bits will chew through just about anything you want without them getting jammed and bringing my drill to a stop.I live in Pennsylvania and I love high quality tools and this is one of them. I would totally recommend this set to anyone that likes quality for a great price.

Rated 4 de 5 de par The right tool. If a tool does the job repeatedly and well, it's an excellent tool. These bits are that. They work through granite, marble and ceramic very well although they heat up fast on the really hard material. Perfect for home use.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Better than I expected I couldn't remember if my hammer drill was broken or not, but I figured having hammer-drill ready bits couldn't hurt. I was drilling into brick, and I hate it the most. I must admit that I made all four holes I needed even though the last one took about 15 minutes. That is about 400% better than I am used to (where I needed a new bit for every hole, almost), so I am quite pleased.

These bits can be used in a hammer or regular drill and the carbide tips remained sharp for the four holes I had to bore in concrete. Bosch makes great tools and the case they give is very useful for storage. My only complaint is that the tape surrounding the case darn near required a blow torch to open it up. I slightly damaged the case in trying to get to the bits. It's almost like they don't want you to use the product.

I'm not really sure how this product is supposed to perform, but I do have experience with masonry & the one I used (the first one) out of this five pack didn't live up to expectations. I drilled eight holes in concrete block & one the ninth, the bit seems to have literally melted. I did give the bit a chance to cool down before drilling each hole since I had to drill thru 5/8 plywood with another bit, then drill the hole in the concrete block with this bit, then screw in a masonry screw.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Couldn’t drill one complete hole in my concrete slab before... Couldn’t drill one complete hole in my concrete slab before the carbide tip broke off. I let the bit cool and didn’t apply any excessive force... major let down. My 5/32 bit is trashed. I’ll be returning the kit today.

It may work for block and mortar, but I tried the bit with two different hammer drills, and it would not go through my concrete. If they did not designate that the bits are good for concrete on the package, then I would not have a problem with them. I ended up buying a 1" rotary hammer drill with SDS bits, and that worked great.

How long are these bits? Mostly interested in the 5/32" one. Or how deep a hole?

Posée par: mww
It's about 4-1/4 inches from the cutting tip to the beginning of the hex shaft. That would be your maximum depth of cut for all five bits, which are the same length from tip to hex shaft.

Please describe the case it comes with

Posée par: LiLass
I had a rough time taking the label off, but then realized that if you manage to identify the area where the top half unites with the lower half, you can cut the label and the top comes right off. The case per sé is of hard, clear plastic, making it easy to see your bits neatly in place.

Are these good for ceramic tile

Are these good for ceramic tile
Posée par: BillyBoy
No, Concrete / Cement ONLY. These type of bits do not cut, they grind while being hammered. You need Tile Bits for Ceramic Tile.
