Rated 4 de 5 de par Works great on tile! I bought this glass and tile bit for my walk in shower project. I needed a blade to cut out my faucet hole without breaking or chipping. This tile blade made a smoother cut. It did take a little long and got hot so you need to be extra cautious, but it worked great for my project.

Used to drill hole for fan pull chain in ceiling fan light globe replacement. Actually needed much larger hole than this but I started with small hole then switched to larger glass bit after smaller hole was complete. Bit works perfectly if you have the patience to drill slowly and always apply consistent pressure (no side-to-side wobbling). To protect against "skittering" of bit across glass when starting, I taped piece of cardboard to surface of glass first - then drilled through both it and glass. Hole came out perfectly round with no chipping...

Thanks for your question. We would recommend our diamond hole saws. They are designed for drilling into Travertine, Marble, Slate, Granite, Limestone, Porcelain and Ceramic Tile.

I am a jewelry maker and trying to drill through small crystals.

I am using a table drill press. Multi-speed. I have tried a diamond bit (1/16) but it has too much give trying to cut through at a vertical angle. Would this piece work?
Posée par: Tori
Thank you for your question. The best bit to use would be a diamond bit. We have not tested our glass and tile bits for drilling into crystals. They are designed for drilling into glass and tile.

Can I use this bit with a dremel

Bosch 1/8 in. glass and tile bit. I need a diamond drill bit for a dremel. I need it to drill a 1/8th inch hole. Will this bit work in my dremel?
Posée par: Ilesha
depends on what dremel you have. you need a chuck. i don't know if the dremel you have has a chuck. personally i would not use this in a dremel, this bit doesn't work super good if you are at high rpm. if you don't have a drill here is a cheap option that you can get if you don't use it all the time. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-5-5-Amp-3-8-in-Variable-Speed-Drill-D43K/205216326 drill is a very useful tool to have. you don't need anything fancy just something that gets the job done.

Can this drill bit be used to drill through porcelin tile?

Posée par: Bear
yes, turn your screw gun on low speed, you can put a piece of masking tape over the place you are going to drill and drill through it. this will help you bit not slide around on the tile when you start. i would get a cup of water and drill a little way though dip the bit in the water to cool it down. drill a bit more, dip it again. it will help the life of the bit.
