Rated 4 de 5 de par Beats the standard baseboard heaters Got this to replace a baseboard heater that had a high pitched "cycling" whine, had if for 3 weeks. It was installed by an electrician. The pitch was that this Hydronic Baseboard Heater was quieter & more efficient. Regarding quiet, the whine is gone & there is less snap, crackle, & pop than typical baseboards. Strangely once it did make some popping noises every 10-20 seconds for 3-5 minutes. Other than that it has been quiet. It does take longer to heat the room, but cycles less. I don't have any way to measure the efficiency. Overall we are satisfied & certainly prefer this to the standard baseboard heater.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Very nice heat, easy to install I've been replacing the older baseboards with these units. The heat is definitely more even and these are much quieter than the old units which hum and crinkle and provide a "whoosh" of heat. These heat as well as the older direct heat baseboards. I would recommend a newer digital thermostat like the TH114 which cycles a tighter range and has a better response than the mechanical thermostat units. The convection effect with these heaters is a big factor, so the digital thermostat helps by allowing finer control and limits the on-time to just what is needed.

Rated 4 de 5 de par excellent Although, I just ordered my replacement unit today, it is replacing a unit I've had for 44 years. Hopefully, the quality will still be the same. I also have longer units (higher wattage) that have made noise in the past. The salesman that I purchased them from, back then, suggested loosening some screws that holds the element into the unit. This has worked very well over the years, that I've had them. Maybe someone's noise problems can be elemininated by using this technique. I hope this information helps someone enjoy their added heat as much as I have. Al, Indiana

Rated 4 de 5 de par So far so good... Just got these installed last week (1st week Feb). Relatively easy to install. This style does not come with a bracket like the old ones and the old brackets could not be attached to this so the hardest part seemed to be making a bracket to put between the heater and the wall (they cannot be installed directly against paper backed walls such as drywall). Heats nicely. makes a few minor noises (indicating that they are heating) but barely noticable. They look amazing although the "front plate" (that covers the heating element) seems slightly flimsy when taking off (to clean the element yrly) because of how long it is and there is no center hook to brace it against. We chose these heaters because they are the "adult children" of the interthermal ones we replaced (Cadet obtained the patent for interthermal's heaters. The interthermal's we had were from Aug 73 so they lasted almost 38 yrs-we are praying that the cadets will last at least half as long).

We especially like the soft heat aspect that continues to warm the room after the temprature has been met. We installed these units to replace the conventional electric baseboard units. They defintiely are safer and provide a more consistent feeling of warmth in the rooms.. Very pleased with the product..

This heater is energy efficient and gives out radiant heat and it's great for people with allergies. It would be nice in the design if they put the controls on the front instead of the side. The heater has a sleek modern design that I really like.

can i use a nest thermostat?

Posée par: jayy76
Hello, thank you for your question! No you can't use a Nest thermostat with our product at this time as it's low voltage and our heaters are line voltage. A relay switch will be needed to transfer the two different power types. At this time we do not have a relay compatible with Nest thermostats and would suggest consulting a licensed electrician or using one of our Honeywell/Aube line voltage thermostats. Although these are not controlled via Wifi, they can come in a programmable version. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-7-Day-Double-Pole-208-240-Volt-Electronic-Programmable-Thermostat-TH115-A-240D-B/206310912

They are not expandable. Heat is delivered through liquid inside a sealed copper pipe.

can this heater stand on its own and does it have a thermostat/

Posée par: Anonyme
By "Stand on it's own" I'm thinking you mean not attached to anything. Cadet sells a portable equivalent to these baseboard units and the portables work very well, except they will be 120V in the USA. The portable units have a thermostat. The particular unit queried here is a 4 foot 750 watt unit designed to be permanently mounted and wired to 240V. The 240V reduces the amperage needed to get the same heat so is less stressful on circuits. The baseboard units can either be thermostat controlled externally, or you can add-on an attached thermostat made for this unit for an extra $30 or so. The add-on thermostats work well, unless you have multiple heaters in the same room.

Hello, thank you for your question! The SoftHeat baseboard can only be wired on one side of the baseboard. The unit comes standard left handed wiring but can be special ordered for right handed wiring by adding an "RH" at the end of the model number. This specific model is a left handed wired unit, if you wanted the right handed unit then please see the link below. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-SoftHeat-47-in-750-Watt-240-Volt-Hydronic-Electric-Baseboard-Heater-Right-Hand-Wire-White-EBHN750W-RH/203714780?keyword=ebhn750wrh

The info on this unit says up to 125 square feet yet the box says 100 square feet. Which is correct?

Posée par: steve
Depends on how well insulated the home and the outside temperature. So far we have hit a low of 28 and the heaters have been fine, two in a 300 sq. room with high ceilings. The house however is very well insulated. I would say 125 is a safe number based on my experience. However we are still waiting for the zero degree temps. When I say fine I mean will heat the room to the setting we life, 68 degrees.
