Rated 5 de 5 de par Great looking, easy to work with These panels look even better in person than on the web. They're very easy to install (and to cut while maintaining the aesthetic value--one reason I chose this model vs. a couple others). Mine are in an 80-year-old basement with two load-bearing poles, seven hi-hats and three sections of visible ductwork, yet the panels look like they were made for the space; most are laid in on frames, but a few are glued to standard contractor panels where unusual spaces demand. They're thinner than you'd think (they look cheap out of the box), but they're durable. They're definitely not cheap--middle range as these things go, and because they're six to a box, and it's good to get 10% more than you think you'll need, it's easy to end up with lots of extra panels (eight in my case)--and I'm still stinging at the thought of $1,100 for a 15' x 19' basement ceiling that, except for the special-shaped cuts, took two workers about hours to hang (including frames) but they look great and seem like they will for a very long time.

How many panels in 1 box of 2' x2' Fleur-de-lis- ceiling tile?

    Posée par: Laura
Ceilume's Fleur-de-lis ceiling tile is sold by the tile at HomeDepot.ca so you can order the exact number of tiles needed for your project.

I’m thinking of installing these on the ceiling in the bathroom, including over the tub and shower. Would they be ok?

    Posée par: Susie
I have installed these tiles in my bathroom... I made sure to properly seal the seam where the tiles meet with the recommended sealing tape sold by the same company... then I also made sure to seal (with latex caulk) each tile where it meets the wall ...I wanted to make sure no moisture would find it's way underneath the tiles...I did this project about 6 months ago and so far I haven't had any problems . The ceiling still looks great just like the day I finished the job !

I currently have a tile ceiling that I want to take down and use this product. The ceiling has strapping on it . Would the strapping have to be removed as well as my old tiles? Please advise so that we have a good end result. Thanks

Ceilume's Fleur-de-lis ceiling tile can be used in a standard lay-in ceiling grid or glued directly to a smooth, sound substrate such as drywall or plywood. Ceilume does not recommend nailing/stapling the tiles to a substrate or any sort.

Can the Fleur-de-lis tile be used as a border Tile in a drop ceiling grid installation?

    Posée par: Meek1
Yes, the low relief pattern of the Fleur-de-lis works well as a border tile.

Can an air nailer be used to attach tiles along with the glue

    Posée par: Darlyn
Ceilume does not recommend using an air nailer to attach the glue-up tiles. If the nail is too close to the edge of the tile, you run the risk of "blowing out" the side of the tile. If the nail is too far from the edge, it may not be covered by the Deco-strip that is required to cover the joints where the tiles butt together.

I would like to glue up 2 of these, side by side to get a 2x4 ft piece. Would I get a double line between them, then, or would I overlap one of the lines? Also, if gluing them, how hard are they to remove & how would it be done?

    Posée par: Busygal
The Ceilume Fleur-de-lis Ceiling Tile is meant to be butted together (not overlapped) when installed as a glue-up installation so you have 1 center seam. That seam can then be covered up using Ceilume Decorative Strips https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.deco-strips-white-self-adhesive-decorative-strips-24-inch-x-1-inch.1000720543.html. Removing the tiles is relatively simple but may result in damaging the tile if too much glue is used during installation. Just remove the decorative strip, slip a putty knife under one corner of the tile, and slowly pry the tile away from the ceiling.

Can these tiles be put right over plywood, even if there's the odd knot in it? Also, I want to put a light right where two tiles join which didn't allow many patterns to choose from. Not sure if they overlap yet with glue, but would that be OK?

The plywood substrate would need to be smooth. If the knot in the plywood projects upward, you would need to sand it down. If the knot creates a void, you'd want to fill it with drywall compound prior to installing the tiles.

Is the glue also fire related and environmentally friendly? Also, what is the smallest amount of glue I can order for just four tiles?

    Posée par: Busygal
Ceilume Ceiling Tile Adhesive is sold on-line at HomeDepot.ca in 6-packs. For 4 tiles you would need less than 1 tube. Ask the Construction Pros at your local Home Depot for their recommendation of an adhesive that works on vinyl.
