Initially thought a little over priced, but perfect solution for snaking any kind of cable/wire (in my case cable) from basement into first floor wall. Instructions for drill size/plug were discrepant from directions to packaging (poor quality oversight), but will only fit in wall with the larger size as called out on the packaging. Upon turning the screw it automatically tightens the arm onto back of drywall. Note: must avoid studs, electric wires, etc Allows for bundling of any extra cable behind the wall plate, so you're only utilizing what you need to your appliance. Also means no extra connection or coupler in which a regular cable outlet would require.

Great little cover plate to install in the wall to route HDMI and other cables. Be aware the directions (you really don’t need them though) tell you to use a 3/4” hole saw when actually you need a 1 3/4” hole saw. No big deal but it should be corrected. Installation was really easy - just be careful not to put it right next to a stud as there may be not enough room for the little tabs in the back to grab the sheetrock. Otherwise it’s pretty nifty and helps keep out drafts. One other note...the little square opening is not quite wide enough to accept a standard two pronged plug without trimming the edges of the plug. I got mine through with some trimming. All in all it’s a great little product!

Purchased for one of 6 wall mounted TVs being installed in church Sunday School and meeting rooms. Plate used to bring out coaxial cable from wall to connect to back of 70" TVs. Had to purchase 1-3/4" hole saw in install. Took a little more work than just drilling 1-3/4" hole. Hole had to be widened on two sides where metal wings snap out after getting inserted in wall. One wing shown in product picture, on top of plate. Wings do not fully collapse into 1-3/4" round rear section when pushing into wall. Hole needs to be slightly larger than 1-3/4" to fit easily into wall before screwing to engage wings on back side of wall.

What mattered to me was the size of the pass-through. As pictured, opening height is 7/8" and width is 3/4". I had to pass 7 sets of security camera cables (power plug and a BNC connector). I mounted my plate horizontally. The purchased set of hole saw cutters did not come with a 1-3/4" cutter. I ended up having to free hand cut this opening. Didn't feel like spending more money. The product was easy to install. Quality sturdy product.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Great Solution For Low Voltage Cabling This brush plate is an excellent and easy to install solution for installing a low voltage cable through a wall cavity. Please note that the metal wings that keep it secured to the wall are very soft and can easily bend. In addition, the screws that activate the rings can be very tight and are also subject to bending. It is recommended to run the screws in out a few times before installing to ensure they don’t bind and bend. Another tip is to hold a small level against the side of the wall plate when installing to keep it level and from turning.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Simple, Easy Install for Cable/Antenna Wire Lots of options out there to allow for TV antenna / cable outlets. I considered a duplex outlet (110 volt for the power on one side; low voltage on other), but decided that was going to require more effort and costs. This was super easy to install and looks nice. I have my TV mounted in front of the side-by-side standard 110 volt outlet and this mini-brush plate. So even though it looks nice, I don't see. I can pull the antenna wire out further if pull my TV out from wall, as it is mounted on a TV wall mount.

For functionality and ease of installation I would give it five stars, but it is a bit expensive for what it is, so I only give it four stars. I needed four of them. I later looked on the Internet and found them for half the price, but I guess you are paying for the convenience and I wanted them that day and you pay for that.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Terrible Hardware Purchased three of these. As stated in other reviews the threads cut into the metal tabs do not mate well with the screw hardware. You basically have one shot to tighten it, which isn’t great because they come out of the package in the middle of their adjustment range; not great for thicker drywalls. The first one I installed worked fine, albeit very stiff on the threads. On the next two, a screw on each galled almost immediately in the tabs and sheared the head of the screw off. Now I’ve got a 1.75” hole in my wall which, without more effort to fit a different option, will require me to go and buy another two of these, unless I can retrieve the tabs out from the wall, extract the sheared bolt, and find hardware to replace it. A 66% failure rate doesn’t install a lot of confidence… I would avoid personally. Only thing I can suggest is maybe to lubricate the threads a bit, and try that.

Can't use a hole saw bit if you have already run a cable and can't pull it out.

Back of the box said it requires a 1-3/4" hole saw, which I purchased. Got home & read thru the instructions; there were two places where it said use a 3/4" hole saw. Online guide says 1 3/4". Is this a typo? Need to know before opening the drill bit pkg.

Posée par: SueGee
this is a typo you will need a 1-3/4" hole saw.
