Rated 5 de 5 de par It does what is meant to do One of my speaker wires somehow get cut somewhere and stop working. After running few quick tests to confirm, that is the wire, but not speaker fault I ran to closest Home Depot store to pick up a spool of 14GA wire. Now everything works as it should. Do not expect wonder, it's just a wire. Than again, do not buy snake oil as "extremely high quality and accordingly priced" speaker wires. Even some instrument can measure slight difference, the anatomy of our ears won't detect any difference, but your wallet will. Be practical and money wise. Remember, always buy more wire than you need! In the end it will be just enough.

Rated 2 de 5 de par I would buy something else Bought this cable when stores were closed and only curb side pick up was available. Wouldn’t have bought it if I saw it in person. It is not copper (so not ideal for speaker) and the wire strands are brittle and break away easily.

Needed this roll of wire for other than speaker application but the gauge of wire was just what I needed to have remote control of antenna rotator that carried no more than 0.5 amps worth of current at a little over 15 VDC. This speaker wiring has lots of uses other than for audio applications and electronics hobbyists would do well to keep this under consideration--especially now that Radio Shack is probably no longer an option down at your local shopping mall.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Product is exactly what it purports to be. There is... Product is exactly what it purports to be. There is no way for it to be exceptional or sexy. But I can fault it for nothing. It is indistinguishable from any other zip-cord, lamp wire, type of speaker wire. I suppose it is conveniently packaged. I used to connect two small speakers in the garage. No issues at all.

Rated 1 de 5 de par If you like being short changed, this is the product for you! I purchased this roll and needed four 12' 6" lengths totaling 50'. I got 49' 6". What happened to actually getting what you paid for? This added significant time to the job and pushed back completion an additional day. What next.... a third of gallon ice cream masking itself as a half gallon?

Rated 4 de 5 de par As advertised; Don't skimp Speaker wire is after all just speaker wire. This stuff does the job, but 18-guage is wholly inadequate for runs longer than a few feet or for large speakers. I went back for some of the pricier 16-guage wire for runs to my small rear speakers.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Heavy gauge speaker wire. This speaker wire worked fine for our home theater system. I went with this wire because the old wire I had was so thin it would break and fray when trying to connect it. This wire was almost too thick, but worked, and everything sounds good.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Good Wire [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The wire was easy to use and just what I needed for my speaker set up. Seems like a good quality product. I had great sound quality when I was finished.

Is the wire shielded?

Is the wire shielded?
Posée par: Luke
No it does not. In the electronics world "shielded" means it has an outer circumferential layer of wire, and not that it is covered by plastic/pvc insulation around the core. A shielded layer is usually braided. An example is TV cable. The purpose of a shielded layer is to prevent electro-magnetic interference and is normally connected to ground to dissipate it. Some audiophiles will only use shielded speaker cables because they say it sounds better. It is very expensive. This is rip cord. I use it fine because I don't want to spend several hundred Dollars on audiophile cables.

What does not designed for in-wall installation mean? Does it mean that the wire cannot be buried in the wall?

Posée par: wrrrrrrr
Hi,Thanks for your question. Yes, this cable can't be buried in the wall. You can contact vineenl@yumin.com freely if you have any questions. Best Regards Anita Zhuang
