Rated 1 de 5 de par So disappointed in this product I have tiled quite a few floors and showers in my time using thinset. The Home Depot associate helped me with tile selection and adhesive. He recommended Acrylpro. I took his advice and decided to give it a try. It was easy to apply, so at first I was pleased. tiling was done on a Saturday, I gave the adhesive five days to cure before starting to grout. As soon as I walked on the tile, the very first one broke. I pulled it up, and the Acrylpro is still wet, almost as when I applied it. Now I have to pull up the whole floor and try to save the tiles, and reset with thinset. Very upset. this was planned for over a year, so timing was important!

Rated 4 de 5 de par Use it for what it is intended! This is an excellent adhisive for non water bearing areas over a semi-porous surface. It needs air exposure to cure. Great for backsplashes and wainscot walls. Do not use it under large format porcelain body tiles (bigger than 12x12) or it will never cure up. I would use it also on marble, travertine or other stone up to 12 inches. Don't use it on floors because it doesn't hold up well to high psi installations. Use thinset instead. Don't use a VW bug to do a 3/4 ton trucks job.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Do Not purchase Easy to apply, looks good. Problem is that you have to tear it up. I waited 2 weeks for it to dry. I took a step onto my 6x36 tiles and they slid. It was my fault for purchasing something that I thought would be easier. it is solvent based and needs to evaporate to become strong. Problem is that it takes forever. I put down pieces of plywood so that we could still walk on the floor because it was in an entranceway. I fiigured two weeks was long enough. Nope. I pulled it up. Easily I might add, it was still wet. I hosed off the tiles, and then put down thin set mortar. I put that down last night and walked on it this morning. Go with the thin set. This stuff ends up taking 10 times longer and you have a fear that it will never be solid.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great Product First off, make sure you understand how things work before you complain about a product being garbage. This is an EVAPORATION BASED adhesive. It won't dry if it can't get air. If you're trying to tile anything larger than 8"x8" or use a trowel larger than 1/4" notch, use a chemical based mortar/adhesive. You can leave this pail sitting out with out a lid for a week and it won'y dry because once the top dries, the air has a hard time getting past it. Having said that, I've used this product a lot and would highly recommend it. I use it to install 4'x8' wall sheets with a 1/4" notched trowel and 3 years later they are still on the wall. I highly recommend it for kitchen wall tiling and small mosaic tiling. I would not recommend it for 12"x24" floor tiles, ever.. Unless you have a completely smooth floor and you are going to walking lightly on it, and are able to use a 3/16" notched trowel in a completely straight pattern, and let it sit for a week, with an industrial fan blowing at it.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Not good for all situations I have a pier and beam home, so my experience may be different than others. I applied this product to each of my bathrooms one was porcilean tile and the other marble. I did notice it took more like 48 hours than 24 to dry. Waiting the extra day or two to grout didn't put me in a bind, but if I was a contractor I wouldn't have been happy. I used this product for it's elasticity due to the type of foundation I have. That may also be why mine dried quicker than the other reviews. I would be concerned about using it in showers or places that will be exposed to water since this product may never fully cure, or take longer. Good luck!

Rated 1 de 5 de par Poor adhesion after several months This was recommended by a Home Depot associate because we wanted a pre-mixed adhesive. We had problems getting tiles to stay in place with it, and now after several months, a lot of those that originally seemed secure have come loose. We don't blame the associate for recommending it - we wanted pre-mixed, and not mix it yourself mortar. We wish we had bought mortar instead. It is a tremendous amount of labor to clean and re-set these with regular mortar adhesive. Every tile we have used the mortar on has set immediately and not come loose. For us, the mortar is worth the effort to mix it ourselves.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Pretty good ceramic tile adhesive for the wall I liked the ease of install of tiles using this product and, like many other reviewers, found that it took forever to dry compared to mortar mix. I actually think that for my remaining projects, I will stick with mortar even though it is messier and harder to deal with (IMPO) for the DIY'er (pros are expensive for a reason, it seems). BE SURE TO BE CLEAN DURING YOUR INSTALL - unlike mortar, dried/slop AcrylPro does not clean up well without scraping and if you're not completely dry, you will be moving tiles.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Do not use if you wish to keep your sanity The last tile job I did I used thinset mortar and it was great, however it was messy and took a while due to mixing. This time I was doing a mud room entry and thought, hey, why not used pre-mixed adhesive? It's the same, right? WRONG! It may be good for kitchen back splashes where the surface area of the tile is small, but using it for any larger tile is a huge mistake. This requires air to dry, and of course there is NO air underneath a large slab of porcelain tile. After 1 day you could still move the tile around with your hand, and carefully stepping on it you could hear "squishing" noises. At this point I think I am better off taking all the tiles up, washing them off, and using thinset. My advice: buy and mix your own thinset and keep your sanity. Otherwise you will be pulling out your tiles, and also your hair.

Can I use this product for 12x24 inch porcelain tiles?

The tiles will be installed around bathtub in vertical position. On HardieBacker cement board. Thanks, Alex
Posée par: AlexZ
We do not recommend anything premixed for a tile this size. You should be using a mortar specifically for large format tile like the Natural Stone & Large Tile Premium Mortar. For further information please contact our technical service department at 800 272-8786 option 2.

Install over concrete floor with cracks?

I want to install tile on an outdoor concrete patio. The patio has a couple small cracks and I think a solid hard mortar might cause the crack to appear through the tile. Would this product be suitable?
Posée par: TimInLA
If the cracks are wider than credit card thickness we would recommend using an anti-fracture membrane like our RedGard prior to installing a polymer modified mortar. Premixed product should never be used for exterior installations. For additional information please call our tech services dept. at 800 282 8786. Thank you.

Can this product be used with Red Gard?

I am laying a tile floor in the shower, bathroom, and also a den. I am using Red Gard in the shower. Can this be used with Red Gard in the shower stall? Thanks!
Posée par: Rete
Do not use this product in places where it will be exposed to water. Water causes mastic to soften up and lose its bond strength, which can cause tiles to crack or even pop off. Mastic will also grow mold. You should always use thinset mortar (and NOT the premixed stuff) for shower walls and bathroom floors.
