Rated 1 de 5 de par Do not buy! - Wish I had read reviews first. Purchased 3 tubes due to specific reference of it being interior/exterior and suitable for gaps up to 2" on the labelling and it being the cheaper than GE silicone that I usually use. Applied all three tubes inside in gaps between 1/16" and approx 5/8". Came out white as expected, but 24 hours later, none of it had cured, slightly sticky to the touch - wider gaps (1/4"+) were definitely not paint ready. Temperature varied from 15-18C where applied (temperature gun), so not the warmest of temperatures, but definitely not cold. Unless all three tubes were duds, which I doubt, given the (now to my knowledge) countless other reviewers with the same experience. Still waiting for it to cure a few days later...

Rated 4 de 5 de par Nice caulk This is better caulk than Alex Plus. I use it around windows as it resists water that can weep in from aluminum windows. Also Dynflex is superior in bathroom and basement areas. Alex Plus goes hard then soft -- with water exposure. Naughty caulk. Mind you it could be age. I'm told it happens. That being said, Alex Plus is superior for patching wall chips and excellent on baseboard trims because it goes on smooth and paints with minimal shine. Dynaflex has a brighter shine and paint tends to glare through. That is less of an issue in bathrooms as one tends to use semi-gloss paint. I have never taken my Dynaflex outside so cannot comment on extended weathering of caulk. Anyways happy caulking.

Rated 3 de 5 de par So so This caulk is no Big Stretch as it's almost half the price, but you get what you pay for. My biggest dislikes are a) the really long cure time of several days (don't do what the other guy did and paint it the next day without reading the instructions on the tube) and b) the difficult way it tools. Again, I'm comparing it to Big Stretch which is top shelf and flawless. This four dollar caulk is adequate for areas that don't warrant a seven dollar a tube caulk.

Rated 3 de 5 de par good and bad The good: -easy cleanup -paintable -flexible (very)- elastometrics are the best for that The bad (my experience with casings, doors, crown, mouldings) -LONG drying time. You have to let this one dry required 48 hours to paint oil on it. If coated with oil paint before fully curing, it might crack the finish because the paint isnt as flexible as curing caulking.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Dynaflex 230 great product Applies really well and does not crack over time. Flexes with temperature changes. Would highly recommend.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Do Not Use I am a professional Contractor. This caulking is terrible. Applied, cured for a week. As soon as it gets wet, it turns white again, expands and separates. It is not waterproof by any means. I had to redo the caulking for a client. It's not an isolated event either. I have used this product on many projects (Different Tubes) and had to redo them all. What a waste of time and money.

can i use this caulk for sealing cracks on wood (1/8" wide , 3-4 " long approx.) outdoor ?

Posée par: tony77
Yes. The clear dynaflex will not dry clear if the bead is too deep/big but it's paintable. If you want to use the clear and not paint it on deep cracks, you'll have to build up in smaller amounts. Experiment with that.

Can you use this around tub in shower?

Posée par: Nirvan
You probably could but l would use "kitchen and bath" silicone clear or a color to match your decor. This product is silver.

Is this good for around the shower area?

Posée par: Lokiishere2020
This one doesn't seem to stick to the acrylic shower base too well, i have to reapply it every year. May be you should try something with a higher silicon product with like 10- 15 year warranty .

Thank you for your inquiry. While DAP DYNAFLEX 230 can be applied to most rigid foam board (for gap filling, not as a primary adhesive), the inquiry that you have posted does not contain sufficient detail or background to allow us to provide a more definitive response in this format. At your convenience, please contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477 so that we can obtain this additional information from you and provide you with the guidance you need to move forward with your project.

Could this be used as window glazing compound (instead of DAP 33, for example) for a small pane of glass in a wooden storm door? If so, advantages, drawbacks? Thanks a bunch.

Posée par: Evan
Thank you for posting your inquiry. DAP DYNAFLEX 230 is not recommended for use as a window glazing sealant (the interface between glass and window frame or glass to glass joints in window construction/repair). DAP '33' Glazing or DAP Latex Window Glazing would be the only products recommended for this type of project/application. Should you have any additional questions or require further assistance, please contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477.

Can I apply this caulking outside on wood siding in the winter?  What temperature do you recommend and for how long to cure properly?

Posée par: MasterofNone
Thank you for posting your inquiry on DAP Dynaflex 230 Elastomeric Sealant. As indicated on the product package label and supporting product literature: "Apply in temperatures above 40F. Do not apply if rain or freezing temperatures are forecasted before full cure can occur. Cold weather and high humidity will slow down cure time." For cold weather applications, our DAP AMP Window Door Trim and Siding Sealant would be the recommended product to use, as it can be applied in temperatures as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit and has a full cure of 24 hours. Should you have any additional questions or require further assistance, please contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477.

What is the full cure time on this sealant at 5 degrees C. minimum with no rain?

Posée par: MasterofNone
Thank you for posting your inquiry. A full cure for the DAP Dynaflex 230 Premium Elastomeric Sealant is 7-14 days depending on joint size, temperature and humidity levels. Should you have any additional questions or require assistance, please contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477.
