Rated 5 de 5 de par GIVES A WARMTH TO THE ROOM I’ve used these panels many times. I like to add extra depth to them for an even more realistic look. First, get panelling adhesive. Home Depot sells NoMoreNails brand, and it is the BEST! Note: it sets very quickly! Once you are ready to put them up (after you’ve levelled and cut around plugs, and switches etc you can apply adhesive. You will need two people and two guns (lol) I’m not kidding, it sets fast!! As soon as adhesive is applied along all edges and every 16” or so across body of panel line it up on your wall. Using a rubber mallet start pounding across entire board ti be sure adhesive adheres to wall surface. I also use 1” spiral finishing nails along edges where it may be gapping. As well as random areas that don’t want to stick. Note: panels do have a pattern. Be sure yours line up! Half bricks meet up with half bricks! Lol. If you aren’t painting the panel after, at least paint the edges to match the grout before joining panels. It helps to hide seams. If you’re going to be painting or spackling afterwards then I recommend applying a bead of “paintable” caulk along edge just before adding next panel. Once the next panel is up (glued and nailed) grab a damp cloth and wipe away ALL caulking from seam, blending it in. If not painting yours, apply paint to the nail head tips so they disappear. Then enjoy. For those, like me who want more detail... once panels are up, the fun begins! You will need spackle and a drywall scraper. Apply spackle over sections at a time. Play with the look you want. Either with the scraper, spackling over only certain areas or all over. Use a damp cloth to wipe/rub away spackle to reveal brick colour underneath. Leave raised sections or build up sections with the spackle. Continually step back to see that it’s confirming (especially if two people are doing it together) Even after it’s dry you can still wipe away sections with a wet cloth or sand. Very important: you must seal the spackle afterwards!! It will get dirty and will not be water resistant, so apply a FLAT COAT of triple thick Varathane. Also sold at Home Depot. It’s the 3x one. Be sure to get the flat, because bricks and mortar aren’t shiny! If painting, prime first as you would any raw drywall. Finished with a semi gloss latex.

what size of brad nails should be used to nail it into the dry wall? 1.5 inch or 2 inches?

    Posée par: Qkashif
It is best to use paneling nails and not nail gun-brads, as you don't want any "blow-out" of the hardboard if the brad is pushed below the surface. Nails that are 1-1/2" are fine for holding the panels in place. You should also be using LocTite Power Grab for adhesive on the back of the panel as well. https://www.decpanels.com/installation-guides/

Are these moisture resistant like if i were to use them in a bathroom?

    Posée par: Mike10321
Yes, they can be used in a bathroom. Just make sure they are used in areas which do NOT have direct contact with water, like in a bath alcove or shower. Make sure to refer to the installation instructions: https://www.decpanels.com/installation-guides/

I have a few questions: 1. do we fix it with mortar on the wall? or liquid nails? 2. can we drill on it to put up frames and pics? 3. what to used to get a soft cloud affect? which paint color would you suggest? 4. how to seal it ? 5. what u

    Posée par: Qkashif
    1. Use Loctite Power Grab to adhere the panels to the wall. 2. Yes, you can drill through it and hang pictures on it. 3. See YouTube and Pinterest for ideas on "white-washing" our brick panels. There are many videos and blogs that illustrate how to use our panels to create a softened brick look. 4. You can seal it with a polyacrylic spray, after you achieve the color you are pleased with.

Could I put this up against a gas fireplace? We use the fire place daily.

    Posée par: Kris
You should definitely check local codes. The manufacturer recommends keeping panel 18” from heat source. Generally that is not a problem since the firebox is larger than that.

Can I paint this before the spackling?  I don’t want red brick but there is no grey or whitish option. Could I paint each brick then proceed with the spackling?

    Posée par: Lisa
    Yes. We customized ours too.

I have a wonky wall. Is this easy to cut?

    Posée par: Lisa
Yes, you can use a circular saw, jig saw, hand saw, or multi-tool to cut hardboard panels.

Hi there. Since this panel can be painted, can it be 'sealed' with a clear coat water repellent type sealant?

    Posée par: 4thn20
Hi We didn't aply any sealer, but I assume it can be done. Panel is hard enough.
