Rated 4 de 5 de par Great Nailer until now! Purchased the framing nailer about a year ago and haven't had any issues with it when the batteries are fully charged to start with. Use it on an almost daily basis with no issues until now with it jamming and not able to clear the jam. It's going in for service which with the amount of usage it probably needs anyways. Still very pleased with the gun other than the weight of it! Little cumbersome to be carrying on a belt when doing rough framing. I have several other of the DeWalt battery guns and have nothing but good things to say about them to other contractors that I deal with.

Rated 5 de 5 de par cheaper then running a passlode all day, works fine Dont understand other reviewers, i am a framer by trade building high end multi-family ive used passlode framing nailers by the dozen, i own 10 of them for my crew. As they start to break down im slowly purchasing more and more of these. I buy passlode gas by they case and over a complex i could by 5 or more guns with the money spent on them. These framing gun are awesome for only using a battery. Yeah when we shoot 3” nails you might have to smack mist in an 8th inch but if you look at the cost at running passlode guns its a no brainer. On the finish end, where you might want them counter sunk then either go with a air gun or passlode. But for framing and siding this over other cordless framing guns any day of the week.

Rated 5 de 5 de par The Best for Pickup Framing [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Am I ready to ditch my air compressor and pneumatic nail guns? Not yet, but the more I use the DCN692, the more I appreciate the hassle free portability. It is a great tool for pickup framing work, and it really can do just about anything that a traditional pneumatic nail gun can do. On our jobsites today, there is one less air hose strung about. My only complaint (and it’s a minor one) is the ramp up time in sequential mode takes a little getting used to – but it’s a small price to pay vs lugging a compressor and hose out for every job. Great tool.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Substantial upgrade, night and day difference [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I previously owned the first generation of this tool, and it did ok in some scenarios, but in harder materials and instances where the framing had some flex-it just wasn’t good enough. Fast forward to this latest version, and wow, what a difference. I have been putting nails in all over my property and it sinks 3” ringshanks with ease. For testing I’ve been shooting fence posts old and new, spf framing, beams, and subfloor and it’s been very fast and impressive. I haven’t had it long enough to comment on durability, but the power is amazing.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Useless Bought this when I saw another framer using it. Became my daily nailer for almost 3 months till it wouldn’t fire a nail. Motor would run but not drive a nail. Had it serviced under warranty. Got it back worked fine for a few more months. Then the motor started to fail ( made different type of sound.) Had to pay for a new motor. Again worked well for a few more months and again motor runs but won’t fire a nail.

I bought this nailer this summer to frame a small house project. 2x6 frame construction and OSB wall and roof sheathing. First for the positives - 1. Battery life is great, with a 4 ah battery I could frame most of the day. 2. With the right nails it rarely jams. 3. It uses the same batteries as all my other DeWalt tools. Now for the negatives - 1. It would not drive the DeWalt 16d 3 1/2" nails. Even in knot-free douglas fir studs I always had 1/4"+ of nail head sticking out. It also regularly jammed with the 16d nails. So I framed the whole place with 12d 3 1/4" nails. 2. It will not nail 2 3/8" sheathing nails on the low speed setting - not enough power, even though that setting is supposed to be for nails up to 3". 3. While it worked well with the DeWalt sheathing nails, it jammed constantly and bent the heads over on Grip-Rite nails (probably one jam per every strip of nails)!

Rated 2 de 5 de par I expected more from this. It is, after all,... I expected more from this. It is, after all, Dewalt. Disappointing. For one, it's slow to fire; has to ramp up. Makes whirring noise like it's going to jump to light speed. Then it jams easily. Then it won't allow me to put in more than 1 clip of nails, or it jams. The trigger lock/unlock is easily slid to lock. Then, sometimes, the gun just doesn't work for any reason I can see. But here's my big gripe: Although, even with the aforementioned gripes, it did a good job with short nails; it completely sucked with framing nails. Would only penetrate regular spruce or pine 75%. I ran a box of shorter nails thru it and returned it.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Plenty of Power, Very Few Jams [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this framer for about 11 months now. I'm a roofing contractor in Florida and I specialize in roof repair. We are always needing to sister on a 2x4 to a rafter and do some basic framing. This thing is perfect for the job. Fits in some tight spots and NO COMPRESSOR! Saves so much time. I use the standard nails from the big box store and have maybe one jam every other strip. It's usually because I hit a hurricane strap or something. The two settings are useful because this thing will overdrive a nail on the high setting. Plenty of power. Also, it runs for a long time on the 5AH batteries. Overall, love this tool for what its meant to do.

I have all DEWALT tools and having read the reviews below, I am extremely hesitant on purchasing this Nail gun. Does anyone have any positive things to say before I go air again?
Posée par: DL
I bought one and am a construction framer as a trade. Although this isn't my primary nailer as I use pneumatic ones, this unit is very dependable and allows me to nail areas not accessible and expedites the job. I have owned it for over a year with no problems at all and would buy it again.

Is this nail gun good for building a porch, nailing shingles, things like that? Wanting to buy something for my fiance and not sure if this will work.
Posée par: JodyF
The DCN692 cordless framing nailer has been designed for driving nails into wooden workpieces. You can build a porch, but we would recommend a Roofing nailer for shingle application.
