Rated 4 de 5 de par Dewalt Compressor Purchased this compressor just a couple of weeks ago so I cannot yet speak to its reliability, thus the four stars. However, if the short-term use is any indication, this compressor will perform well. I followed the break-in procedures before my first use and then left the tank with 100 pounds in it to check for leaks. None were found. The price is what prompted my to purchase. I had been checking at all the regular outlets and the reduced price was no gimmick. The machine is very well built except the handle is a bit lightweight but it will suffice. If I do not do a follow up, then you know all is good long-term.

Virtually nothing to setup other than to install the handle, and it fits nicely underneath my workbench. It's quiet, charges quickly, and has enough pressure to do a lot of basic tasks. I'm not a mechanic so I don't know how well it would work with high-CFM tools like an impact wrench, but it works great for less demanding air tools like nail guns and staplers as well as filling up tires and cleaning things. It's technically portable thanks to the horizontal tank and thick wheels, but the sheer weight makes frequent moving somewhat impractical. The 20-gallon tank is awesome and a perfect fit for the motor. The only complaint I have is the petcock which is difficult to reach, so I replaced it with a ball valve which makes it much easier to drain the tank which I do every Saturday to avoid excessive moisture buildup.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Very solid and well made I love this compressor. The only thing I had to do was replace the supplied 3/8" quick connector with a 1/4". Home use really but it can fill my kids inflatables and still continue to replenish the tank. I've used it with an air chisel and rarely have to pause to let it recharge the tank.

Bought this compressor after my 45 year old Craftsman 1 HP compressor's tank failed (leaking). I wanted a compressor that was at least assembled here in the United States. My research discovered that a company in Minnesota, MAT Industries (Mid-America Technologies), builds compressors that sell under several brand names. I looked at their website and found the one that fit my needs. I chose what appeared to be the highest end 1.9 HP unit with a cast iron pump. I decided on the 20 gal. horizontal compressor with pneumatic tires over the vertical 30 gal. unit for maneuverability concerns. The compressor I wanted looked to be offered under several brand names. When I looked on Home Depot's website I found "my" compressor under the DeWalt brand name at a great sale price. What a deal; a trusted brand name, a favorite store, and a compressor mostly made in the USA! I went through the startup/break-in procedure and then filled the tank. After letting it sit for several days the tank pressure remained at 150 psi. I haven't used it a great deal yet, but unless there is some unforeseen failure I consider this DeWalt/Home Depot compressor to be one of my best tool purchases ever (72 years).

Rated 5 de 5 de par Well made Bought it and read up on the maintenance upkeep. You need to change the oil following the first 20-hours. It’s important because the factory oil is break-in oil only. So important that it would had been nice if it showed up with the synthetic oil.

Th compressor is overkill for a single nailer. Unless you are a professional, you will be hard pressed to "outrun" a smaller "pancake" compressor. This bad boy could keep up with numerous nailers simultaneously!

HVLP spray guns vary on the amount of air needed to run them. Please check the air consumption requirements listed for the spray gun you intend to purchase to be sure it falls within the air delivery supplied by this compressor. This model will give you 7.0 SCFM @ 40 PSI and 5.7 SCFM @ 90 PSI.

Our recommendation is a 20 amp double pull breaker. (If the only service you have is 15 amp, and you are absolutely certain there is Nothing else on the line whatsoever, you could try the 15 amp. However, due to the high current draw upon start up of an induction motor, you may still run into issues with the lower 15 amp service) Also note: Air compressors with induction motors such as this model should be plugged in direct to the outlet and not be run on an extension cord; use a longer air hose instead if need be.

My opinion: !.9 HP 120 volts would be close on a 15 amp circuit. I have my 1.9 HP DeWalt compressor plugged into a 20 amp 120 volt circuit that runs around my shop and have had zero problems with it kicking out since plugging it in almost two years ago.
