Someone in R&D thought lighter is better on this, and forgot about everything else, the angle is wrong, so if you want a staple to go in strait, you have to have your knuckles on the surface which means hitting your hand every time, the staple tray holder comes undone way too often and since it loads on the bottom side, every time it does, all the staples fall out. Also with one of these it actually needs to be a little heavier to drive the staple in, a friend had one that was about twice as heavy and it was so easy to put staples in, this Dewalt one you have to hit it way harder to drive it in, and these aren't 12 lb hammers, you shouldn't ever get "fatigued" as this product is supposed to prevent, so avoid this at all costs, carbon fiber doesn't always mean better. I returned this after trying to use it for a few hours.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Light Weight Hammer Tacker [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The DeWalt Carbon Fiber Composite Hammer Tacker is very light weight. This Tacker is very simple to load staples into. Just pull out the slide in the handle, which opens the slot in the bottom of the tacker to load staples. Push the slide back in and your are ready to work. This tacker uses various brands of staples in sizes 5/16", 3/8" or 1/2". It also uses Arrow T50 staples. This tacker works just like using a hammer. It is built very rugged. From experience, it is better to use staples with chisel points.

Rated 1 de 5 de par It is lighter but not effective The hanmer tack looks and feels much better with a convenient fill shaft front facing but when using it there is not enough weight behind the head or something that doesnt drive the staples into wood , some im swinging this thing three times as fast as a basic on and half my staples still dont even stick half way in. So imagine being in an over 100 degree attic with 18-20 duct you finally got set wear you want it then you rest the weight of the duct on hanging strap . (Less than a lb) your staples pop right out and your duct is on the ceiling and you have to do all over again. Just thought dewalt would’ve made a better product

Rated 1 de 5 de par Got 3 weeks out of it... I bought this with high hopes and for 3 weeks it worked great. Now I can only use half a row of staples because the other half gets stuck under the slide. I spend more time unjamming it than tacking. I can't take it apart to figure out the problem. Total watt fastest of good money. Next time I'll just throw my money out the window.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Not worth it Bought it month ago just because it says carbon fiber. So thought its gonna last longer than other staplers. Oh boy I was wrong. Completely stopped working after just one month, we didnt even used that much except some fiberglass insulation for the house. When we tried to fix it, the screws require special tool to open it, regular wrenches just dont work. Why would you make it unrepairable or openable? So just threw it away. Dont buy this garbage. Buy the regular one or other brands.

Rated 5 de 5 de par love it I got this because i figured it would be better than the other yellow metal ones. I got a few of these and love them. No jams for me. I found my self looking for the dang thing only to remember it was in my back pocket the hole time. Thats how light it is compared too the old ones. I think a lot of the people who complain about jams just got a lemon. It happens a lot with dewalt even with their nailing guns. Best advise is use your tools a lot as soon as you buy it that way you will know if u got a lemon just try again. The tool works no problems on any of mine and my guys are not gentle with tools its like giving a cave man a bat fortunately thats how this tool is used.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Works good just don’t drop it i do hvac so I use the “slap hammer” for Hanging ductwork. It worked great. Then climbing out of the attic I dropped it about 4-5 feet juggling stuff comeing down the ladder .. bam explodes into prices clip shooters out staples shoot out . It was the first time I’d ever used it. The metal ones would never of broke from that so . Carbon fibers equals plastic hammer . I thought it’s would be stronger

The staples are never deployed with consistency nor straight. Had a roof job, my friend brought his "non-carbon fiber" version. Much better! Same staples, same hand. What a difference - with his every single staple came out straight and was all in. I just could not use this one at all. Tried again today to use it in the attic, multiple staples falling out, only couple penetrating. I'm so done with this carbon fiber innovation. Dewalt - innovation is great, but be sure to test your stuff before you ship it!

I can’t seem to get the staples to seat. Have put in hundreds and have only dozens seated into the roof flat they either crunch up or are sticking up. As with everything I have ever bought I have been told it is perfect and it is operator error. How do I use this successfully

In my experience, this stapler works great when stapling downwards, but for stapling in an upwards motion, the stapler is simply too light weight to drive the Staples in all the way. A heavier similar stapler would work just fine.
