Rated 4 de 5 de par Spanner wrench revisited So I read the review about the spanner wrench not being included and the one where other posters explained how it is not needed. I admit, I though it was silly to complain about at first but upon some use of my grinder which I am very pleased with I do see the downfall for first time buyers. If you also use this as a sander most sanding back up pads and retaining nut DO NOT have the hex head hole and even if they did they are much thinner so as not to be in the way. Fortunately for me I have a wrench from a previous grinder but if someone does not have one and want to use a generic / aftermarket sanding disc setup they will want to purchase the wrench

Rated 1 de 5 de par Disapointing I am disappointed. The wheel, when fully engaged, is not steady. There feels like a vibration as the wheel spins. I had a DeWalt grinder from the past and I loved it. That is why I opted for this one the next go around. Mistake, evidently. Love to have a storage capability for the Allen wrench as well. Surprisingly, not available. So I guess the Allen wrench goes bye bye at some point, as accessories without homes generally disappear. Normally a rubber storage unit is attached to the cord. Nit picky? This is supposed to be a step up brand. How about spending the extra $0.005 on a storage solution?. Bring back Bud! Never should have let him go.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Disappointed First, I’m a pretty loyal yellow tool user. I have two other 4.5” angle grinders. One Dewalt, and one HF. Come on DeWalt. What have you done with your tools? No wrench included in mine. Did someone steal it or did you not include it? Will never know. I used this grinder on one project and it burned up. Completely burned up halfway through the project. I expect this from the other two discount stores off brand products (I have one that is still outperforming this DeWalt). Returned it within a week of buying it. I did not go back and get another one. Maybe I got a lemon? Maybe DeWalt doesn’t build these to last like they used to.

Rated 5 de 5 de par I was originally going to purchase the Ryobi cordless grinder,... I was originally going to purchase the Ryobi cordless grinder, then looked at the RPM rate and realized that the Dewalt was twice the RPM rate and only $20 more. Although the DeWalt is corded and I already have a bunch of Ryobi cordless tools (so the cordless ryobi would have blended in nicely with the rest of my Ryobi tool family, I realized that I don't really NEED it to be cordless at the cost of sacrificing twice the RPMs. The higher RPM speed will give a cleaner cut and most likely last longer. Not to mention that I believe the DeWalt is most likely built better and more durable. All in all... Im happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 de 5 de par To correct Mark... These grinders don't come with a spanner wrench because they don't need one. The included Allen key removes the arbor. A spanner wrench will still work, but is not required. Know what you're buying before you do. Dewalt lists this feature on their website and displays removing discs with the Allen key in their product videos.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great replacement grinder! My new previously unused similar grinder from H. Freight died on me in the middle of cutting off some factory rivets securing a bracket on my truck’s frame. Cut the heads off of only three rivets when the thing almost caught on fire. My new DeWalt cut through the remaining rivet on that bracket with ease and went on to cut the heads off all four rivets on the matching bracket on other side of frame without even getting warm, much less hot. Great product built like a tank. Get one!

Rated 5 de 5 de par correction for an earlier review from another reviewer this product is not marketed as variable speed, it is single speed, on and off. make sure you check your spec's before making a purchase. If all you need is a simple to use grinder/cut-off for occasional home use. this would be a good choice.

Picked up this grinder after reading reviews (and narrowing down choices to my local store...I needed an angle grinder quickly) and so far it's doing great. Cutting stone/rock veneer pieces for a wall I'm building. It's early to do a good review, as the real test of this tool will be whether it's in my toolbox in a year, or three years from now still performing. But I've had good experience overall with DeWalt and this tool is so far proving to be fine. Light enough to handle easily one-handed, no bogging down during tough cutting. I'm impressed with the cheap masonry cutting blade I bought; I picked up 3 of them at $2 each figuring that I'd be wearing them down quickly, but after 15 or 20 cuts I'm still working with the first blade.

Is the blade includef

Posée par: TC
I just bought this and yes, a disc is included. It is packaged in flat cardboard and can be easily missed judging from some of the other comments. I did not notice it till it fell out and hit me in the foot, LOL.

can i use 6 inch blade after taking off guard?

Posée par: topnrnr
If you need a to use a 6 inch disc, purchase the correct tool. Don't remove the safety guard (blade closer to your hand). Also, a 6 inch grinder will have a larger motor to compensate for higher work loads.

I need to cut (4) 1 inch wrought Iron fence posts flush with a concrete patio. Will this do the job using a .045 cutting Disc?
Posée par: HomeDepotCustomer
Yes the tool will do it, but I am unfamiliar with an .045 cutting disc. The correct disc is a 1/16" x 4 1/2" diameter cutoff wheel with a 7/8" arbor.

can this grinder work on pavers

Posée par: qwen
When you say "work on pavers" what exactly do you mean? do you mean cut pavers with a masonry disc? well if the cutting disc will pass most of the way through the paver the answer is yes, do you mean grind pavers with a cup wheel the answer is yes. However I would suggest a different grinder for cutting pavers, one that can rotate like the Home depot one, or one that allows you to put a handle on the top of the cutting head. The best thing for cutting pavers is a 10" masonry wet saw. When cutting stone or concrete the best and most long lasting blade will be a diamond blade.

What tool do I need to sand my wooden door to refinish it?

What tool do I need to sand my wooden door to refinish it?
Posée par: SBJ
That depends on the condition of the floor. If lightly damaged you can use a flat pad sander. These are large heavy sanders that vibrate a 12" x 18" pad. If your floor is more damaged you will need large belt or drum type sander. You must get instruction on how to use this type of sander as I have seen many floors ruined by this type of tool. You can rent these tools from HD but proper operation is co critical.

Will the Avanti Pro 4-1/2 in. x 1/16 in. x 7/8 in. Thin Kerf Metal Cut-Off Disc fit this grinder or is an adapter needed?
Posée par: jma
You should not need an adapter, it takes 4 1/2 inch disks and a 7/8 inch arbor. I am using some masonry cutting discs on mine but they are 1/8 inch thick.
