The major problem with this unit is its' overly large hex drive, so large that it required modification in order to find a drill motor to use it with. Even my bench drill press's 1/2 inch chuck would not open up large enough to accept it. The manufacturer needs to revise this hole saw so that their standard inter-changeable drives for their smaller hole saws would be compatible with it. This hole saws' cutting ability is fairly good, but tends to grab the work piece due to a limited number of carbide cutting teeth. A few few additional teeth would make it smoother cutting and keep it from constantly grabbing the material being drilled.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Trashed in 1 hole It says this can drill through steel, but don't believe it. It seems every time I buy one of these, they're made from thinner and thinner sheet metal. This last one was so flimsy it was wobbling all over the place right out of the package. It should only have a 1/16" kerf, but it was so off center that the kerf was 1/4" wide! After a single hole, 25% of the carbide teeth were broken. And that was cutting at 90 degrees on a drill press, forget about even trying to notch a tube!

Rated 4 de 5 de par The Good and the Bad I use hole saws to notch tube for vehicle chassis and roll cages. The proprietary mount/drive feature just isn't compatible with any of my tools so I designed and made an adapter. The overall length was just too long and chattered too much. I modified the saws to work, turned, welded and trued a conventional mount. After all the effort the Diablo is in my opinion a better product, the problem lies in the pitch being too coarse to thin wall metal and interrupted cuts. Fabricators like us desperately need a fine pitch hole saw for or type of work. I can't recommend the Diablo saw, after all I went through to use them the the results were the same as others that direct mount to threaded holders.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Cuts good but smokes like an old locomotive. First off, be aware you have to buy the Diablo arbor kit to be able to use it. Pretty sharp set up though, so not mad about that. I don't know how it works on metal, but cuts through white pine fairly well. DO NOT use this anywhere near a smoke detector though. Even brand new it smokes....A LOT!!! I'm drilling 2" holes in 1" white pine boards and it's cutting fine, pretty holes but if I didn't have fan set up blowing the smoke away from the detector I'd be setting it off with each and every hole. I was going to send a pic with the smoke, but I've got holes to drill and don't have time to figure out a way to set up my phone to take a pic mid-drill.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Diablo 2" carbide hole saw I bought this to drill a 2" hole in 3/16 steel. Went back and bought the mandrel to chuck it up... crap. Put it in a lathe at work with the steel chucked in nice and flat. Zero runout. Cut a perfectly clean hole with minimal effort, like cutting butter. Excellent! Put my 2" diameter mating piece in the hole and there was a quarter inch gap all around... what the... measured the bit and the teeth were 2.56" diameter! So the 2" bit drills a great hole effortlessly that is a perfect 2½" clearance fit. It's a great bit but check the diameter before you drill. I'm now going to get the 1¾ bit and hope it is a bit truer. Over all it cuts clean and easily.

This bit has a proprietary mounting system that only allows it to be used on a drill... I needed it for a tubing notcher. Anyways, a few cuts and welds later it did the job... I'm impressed at the way it cuts and the longevity of the teeth... but I wouldn't want to be holding onto a hand drill with it, it's a very aggressive cut. It works great for machinery cutting, but requires threads to be welded on... meh, not worth the effort again.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Dissapointing I am a big fan of Diablo cutting tools and have had nothing but good things to say about their saw blades. These hole saws are not very well made however. I used their hole saw to notch some 1.5" aluminum pipe and one of the carbide teeth broke off on the first hole. After a few more pieces of pipe, 3-4 more carbide teeth snapped off completely or were seriously mangled. Considering all of this damage was done from a few cuts through soft aluminum, I can't even imagine attempting to use these on steel. For hole saws, stick to Milwaukee or Lenox.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Absolutely garbage do not buy They fall apart after two weeks. I bought this mandrel December 20 of 2022 and I have had THREE of these mandrels literally explode as I am drilling in 30 days. Listen guys I am a Milwaukee die hard and everything I own is Milwaukee fuel M18. I do not skimp on tools. And I do whole house interior renovation so when I replace every door in a town house ei will drill the knob holes and striker hole in 4 or 5 doors in a day. Which isn't much but I do that twice and the mandrel falls apart
