Rated 1 de 5 de par Only good if you are installing carpet Purchased DMX subfloor (9 rolls) as I wanted to install LVP (luxury vinyl plank) in my basement. Basement slab is perfectly level. I purchased the LVP from a local flooring company, the product is high quality and cost me $4k. Unfortunately after the installation I noticed that almost every butt joint would click and come apart. I have installed a lot of flooring, myself and my crew installed the flooring correctly. The underlayment has too much play for a drop and lock LVP. I would also not recommend a floating engineered hardwood as there is too much risk. If your going to install carpet you would be fine with this product, otherwise be warned. Spend the extra $1/ft2 and buy an actual subfloor or install 3/4" OSB over top of foundation drainage board, same result but more economical. I highly regret installing this product, especially after all of the effort and money it took to finish my basement. Unfortunately if you remove LVP after installation the joints get damaged as the product is thin. So essentially I am stuck with butt joints that don't lock together and click because I don't want to waste another $2k-$4k damaging the LVP to pull it up. I also should note this is the very first review I have ever written, I felt compelled to warn people of my mistake.

Rated 2 de 5 de par check before buy My contractor bought this product and put into my basement; yes it was very easy to install and also installing the laminate was easy; however, after the installation finished when I walk on the floor I felt I am floating on the floor and the laminate pieces are moving ; it does not feel solid and uniform floor, definitely this would not be my choice if I had been warned.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Does not support furniture loads with vinyl planks We used it on 2000sqft of our basement and covered it with vinyl planking. Regular furniture loads dent the vinyl planking and pull apart the seams of the planking. We now have to pull up the planking and probably put down some OSB when it clearly states that it is not required.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Awesome Product! Amazing product! We bought the product a few weeks ago to install in our basement with laminate floors on top. We were looking for a underlayment that would provide a moisture barrier, would keep the floors warm, would be easy to install and be affordable at the same time. This product does it all! Not only do I not have to worry about mold in my basement, as we are installing the DMX, we immediately felt a difference in the warmth of the floor. The installation went very easy. Simply unroll the rolls, tape the joints, and install the laminate right on top of it. Definitely recommend this product!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Innovative product at a great price point! I completed laying my DMX Airflow underlayment, and the process was simple and easy! We laid it over approximately 650 sq ft of concrete slab and noticed right away the cushioning we got and the difference in temperature (thermal break) between the concrete floor and the covered floor. The next day we had carpet installed on top of the DMX Airflow and it doesn't feel at all that there is a concrete floor underneath. The feeling is equivalent to having OSB or plywood with a carpet underpad, but at a fraction of the cost of laying a subfloor. Our carpet installer was impressed with the material also and took some samples to show future customers. This install was completed in December 2016 and have had no issues since the install. Another bonus is, we noticed a small reduction in our electricity bill since we have not run the heating as much in the basement due to the thermal break the DMX Airflow provides!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Excellent product Wow, what a great product Airflow is. Our contractor was pleased with the ease of installation. We installed laminate flooring (also from Home Depot) over it throughout our basement (about 1700 s.f.). We ended up having one extra roll left over and took it back (no problem) for a refund. It's comforting to know that if there is a bit of moisture that this product has been designed to deal with it...no worries there! We love the fact that it has an insulating foam on both sides that makes it quiet to walk on and the basement floor warmer and cozy.

I am considering using this product for my basement. I have a mini home gym. Will it support a treadmill at 300 pound while being jogged on?

Posée par: TV Man
Hello TV Man: DMX Airflow has a compressive strength of 8,000 pounds per square foot or 55 pounds per square inch. You will need to find the weight of the treadmill or any other heavy gym equipment that may be placed on DMX Airflow and then find the area of the parts that will be in contact with the flooring that you use (square inches work best for this) and then divide the weight of the item by the area (in square inches). Further you will want to contact the manufacture of the flooring you choose to see if they recommend installing gym equipment on their flooring. Customer Care DMX

Can it be used as a vapour barrier between concrete basement floor and EVA tiles? Is it mild and mildew resistant?

Posée par: Oleg
I used it on top of bare concrete with rigid luxury vinyl planks on top. The instructions call for rigid material on top of this underlay. It is waterproof and insulates well. Mold can grow anywhere so ventilation is needed between walls and floor (gap).

Can i run 12gauge speaker wire under it if I tape it in place.

Posée par: Dave
Hello Dave: Due to the thickness of the 12gauge speaker wire we do not recommend this type of installation. Installing wire with these types of thicknesses may cause unwanted ridges in the underlayment. Customer Care DMX

Is there a minimum thickness required for the Vinyl when installing on DMX Airflow? Also, you indicate DMX Airflow is suitable for "certain" Vinyl planks. Can you be more specific as to your requirements for Vinyl Plank flooring?

Posée par: RobN
Hello RobN: A minimum thickness of 5mm is recommended when installing vinyl plank flooring on top of DMX Airflow. The following types of vinyl plank flooring can be installed directly on top of DMX Airflow. - WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) - SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) Customer Care DMX

I already picked up the thermoquiet subfloor underlay. I was looking at this product as well and wondering if I could lay this down and then the thermoquiet underlay on top for added thermal protection along with the mold prevention properties and such.

Posée par: LCrane
Hello LCrane: DMX Airflow has been designed as a stand alone underlayment. We do not recommend the installation of any other underlayment on top of DMX Airflow, due to the possibility of increased vertical deflection. Customer Care DMX

Posée par: MeToo
Hello MeToo, You do not require additional carpet padding when installing carpet directly on top of DMX Airflow. Customer Care DMX

I want to use this on a space that will have tile and carpet on top of it. Do I need to use wooden subfloor on the section with the tile?

Posée par: MeToo
Hello MeToo: Based on the description above, we recommend that you indeed install plywood on top of DMX Airflow prior to installing tiles. The plywood needs to be anchored to the concrete by using tapcon screws. Please take a look at our installation instructions, specifically the section about installing plywood/osb on top of our underlayment (https://www.dmx1step.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/DMX-1-Step_InstallationChecklist.pdf).
