Rated 5 de 5 de par Very Solid Base EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SUPPORT! Just installed this base with the matching shower enclosure. Easy install and very solid feeling, make sure you lay a good foundation per the instructions! I had a minor issue with the shower, which was completely my fault by the way, and within a couple hours of sending an email asking to purchase a replacement gasket I had a tracking number and item was shipped out at no charge! Very very pleased with the company!

Rated 4 de 5 de par Looks nice but leaks I got this shower to update the bathroom in a house that I've been very slowly remodeling for the past couple of years. I had it shipped to the store and picked it up there. Obviously it's very large and will require a pickup truck or large SUV. I've gone all in on the oil rubbed bronze craze so the chrome wasn't going to work. I ended up taking the frame to a place that does automotive powder coating and had them 'bronzify" it. It looks nice but chips a little easier than expected. Installation is definitely a two person job as the glass is thick and heavy. The frame itself, on the other hand, is a bit thinner then I would like. My biggest complaint is that the glass doesn't seem to seal against the frame well. I've had a leak that I've been struggling to address for months. Despite repeatedly recaulking, I still have a small amount of water leaking into my drop ceiling in the basement. I'm very glad I have a drop ceiling, otherwise I probably wouldn't have caught this and would have wound up with serious mold issues. I would strongly recommend double or triple checking for leaks after installation because they may not always be obvious.

Leveling was a bit of a challenge but much of that is probably due to this being a remodel on a 50 year old cottage where nothing is plumb. Be prepared to need a MINIMUM of two people (three is better) for some aspects of the assembly.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Cracking This shower base is terrible! We spent lots of money renovating our shower. After a couple months of use, the base started cracking. It is not possible to substitute it as it will be invasive and super costly (again!). So disappointed! What a waste of money, the shower is ruined now! Shame to Dreamline for such a terrible quality!

Rated 1 de 5 de par Beautiful but that's about it. CHEAP Hardware & LEAKS There were no reviews when we installed this shower early 2016 or we would not have purchased it. I picked this out because it was beautiful & it went with the clean, open look of the new bathroom I had envisioned. My husband didn't like it but installed it anyway. He said glass thickness is OK but he prefers heavy duty hardware & now I do too! He had to make unexpected adjustments because after the wedi board & tile were installed an inch or so was lost, and this door did not fit. The end result was a beautiful shower but a much more narrower opening. After a couple of months of use It started leaking near bottom near membrane & wall. My husband tried caulking it to no avail. So he took it apart. He said maybe he should've put way more caulking behind the wall than he did. The problem is the hardware is so cheap (aluminum?) that it bends too easily, so there is no taking apart & putting it back together without breaking it. So basically you have one shot to do it right. The other thing is the way the design is, you cannnot reach a lot of areas (between door overlap & on track) to clean effectively & it looks quite gross. I resorted to using a butter knife & cloth, but bleach in a turkey baster dripped in will help. The shower is beautiful, but I can't recommend it for these reasons. My message to the manufacturer: USE HEAVY DUTY HARDWARE! Now we need to get a custom made shower to fit in order to avoid the expense of ripping out our beautiful tile on the floor & walls. We only got a few months use of this shower before it started leaking. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND!

It allows for extra space in your bathroom since the doors do not have to swing out. I have only had it in for 6 weeks so I am not sure at this point how well it will hold up, but looks great and husband did not have any issues with installing it. I purchased the clear glass since I wanted to be able to see the tile work in the shower. What is even better when you open the shower doors while in the shower you can reach your towel without stepping out of the shower. Love it!

I had it professionally installed by plumber and tile setter in a 5 x 7 bathroom that had been destroyed by a serious leak in the bathroom above it. The floor tile matches the wall tile and it looks very much like the picture in the ad. I took out the bathtub and put a corner linen cabinet in the other corner and now have a much roomier bathroom. I love it!

In simple terms.... it is a nice shower for tight spaces.... it comes with everything you need to put it together. I was disappointed that it came without the inside enclosure, which is the inside walls of the shower, usually a finished plastic piece (I guess I did not read properly) which I then had to order separately from Home Depot. If you are planning to put in against a tiled wall then that is great no enclosure needed. To install it you will place the base on the finished floor and mark for and cut out the drain, I used 2" pvc, some people think they can get away with 1 1/2 pvc put I would beg to differ... and cut my hole 2 1/4 ish... Normally I would use a hole saw for this but it was not available so I used my sawsall (if you make it a bit to big you can always spry foam the hole if your concerned. I recall it was 12 inches on both sides to center of drain (instructions detail it)..... for the base you will need a drain that inserts into the base and attaches to the 2" pvc, this was readily available at home depot for 20 bucks I think. I really had no problem putting it together of course some skill is required, for most of the assembly I would recommend not using a power drill as most of these parts are light metal and easy to strip if a power tool is used.... If you are putting it against a tile wall you will of course need a tile bit for drilling holes to anchor the side rails (and most likely anchors). If you desire the enclosure I would "strongly" advise you make sure it is ordered when you order the shower unit.... Home Depot told me it did not exist, and that I could not order it.... I had to get DreamLine involved directly with Home Depot to get this done.... took many many hours..... The company Dreamline (I have absolutely no affliation) was a real pleasure to deal with.... the problems I had stemmed from the Home Depot side! Two things I did not like about the shower unit..... If you order the enclosure it comes with 2 glass corner shelves, in my situation grand kids were involved and we were concerned for the children with the glass shelves (I found others)...... the second is if you use a standard shower head there is not enough room to tilt the shower head to land on YOU...... you can see in the picture that they use a sunflower shower head..... in my case I used one of those shower heads that you can hold in your hand. It would be nice if DreamLand included a shower attachment to allow a NORMAL shower head..... All in all if I had to buy it again and install it...... I would.... Hope this helped

I am replacing a currently existing shower on a concrete slab so the drain hole is already in place and will not line up with the drain hole in the base. Can I raise this Shower Base on 2x4s or something to make room to extend the drain to the current drain? Hopefully that makes sense.

DreamLine recommends that our shower bases be installed to the subfloor on a bed of mortar. We have not tested our shower bases on a raised platform installation and therefore, cannot recommend it be installed in this way. Are screws needed to fix the pan to stud?

The installation manual never mentioned about screws. Are they needed?Or the thinset is enough to hold it in place? Thanks!

Yes. I think so. When I installed it I believe I did. Your water tight wall board goes over the lip and that is screwed down. Between that and the drain pipe Im not sure if you have to screw it down but I believe we did.

Since the frame mounts with hollow wall anchors there is no reason you couldn't mount over a tile surface. Use care and a carbide bit when drilling the mounting holes and caulk carefully with a good grade of silicone caulk. If you are mounting over a prepared tile surface you really won't need the surround, just the door and base. I suppose you could mount a surround over the tile but it would seem to be more trouble than it was worth. In other words, no clearance between the back of the shower and the shower unit.

I would test fit the drain and p-trap to determine the height requirement. Based on that I would build a small platform with a solid top, like a raised floor. I would leave an opening large enough for p-trap to fit through. The platform will need to be very sturdy to keep base from flexing or cracking. The instructions provided with the base recommends a sand-mortar mixture to go under the base and support it.
