Rated 4 de 5 de par fast change I decided to finally switch over to the EZ Lock system. I just ran out of the older cutting wheels. I put these in the Dremel, and away I went! I'm probably a little more aggressive when it come to cutting. With the old style cutting wheels, I would have gone through about 10-15 of them for the job I just finished. These cutting wheels, I'm on my third one and the job is done! It was 50 cuts through stainless steel in 90 minutes each 6" long. That includes fitting each piece. There were a couple of pieces that were just too big by the width of the wheel. I went through the stainless steel taking off just the width of the cutting wheel. These cutting wheels last longer, cut faster, and are easier to change.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Tasks Simplified [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used various models of Dremel tools for many years. I use them mostly for crafts, as well as some DIY home repair/ maintenance. It makes every task quicker, and so much easier. So, when my friend first introduced me to the EZ lock, I was instantly hooked. Although, I have to admit, it took like 3 or 4 days for me to get the cut-off wheels on the mandrel properly, but now its no problem. Now, it's even faster to switch out the cut-off wheel. I recommend everyone get and use the EZ Lock cut-off wheels. Meanwhile, I am going to branch out and try more EZ Lock accessories.

The easy lock mandrel kit I just bought seems to have fixed all of the problems the old cut-off wheels had with breakage and the downtime involved in changing wheels. I used one of these new EZ-lock blades to cut through 12 1/4 inch grade five bolts. No breakage, the wheel cut through like you always hope they will and even did service as a touch up grinder. The blade wasn't even consumed. Easy to load - agree. Easy to use - agree. Safer than old wheels - I think so. Only downside to the bigger wheel is that it takes a bit more room to work in than the smaller wheels. I really liked this tool and call it a best buy for me.

Needed a small grinder to re-modify a hanging TV bracket to gain access to the connectors on back of the the TV. This tool came in handy and liked the way the wheel locks in place on the Mandrel. Had difficulty pushing back the lever to allow wheel to lock in place but was very convenient once it was in place and does not move. Would recommend this tool to any hobbyist or anyplace you need a small tool that a larger grinder can't get to. Think safety and make sure to wear safety glasses. The wheel has not split on me yet or disintegrated, but stay on the safe side. Liked it so much, I ordered more metal 1 1/2" wheels.

Rated 5 de 5 de par same kit in a smaller packaging [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this kit from Dremel for review. It appears to be similar to existing cutting kit on the market but in a smaller case. Dremel is releasing several of them in this new standardized packaging. I like how compact it is and the fact that they are uniform and stackable. The 4 feet on the bottom goes into the 4 indents on the lid. Under the white tray is space for the manual and extra discs. The cutting wheels are the same as existing ones, which is to say they are great. I no longer use the old cutting wheels since switching to these EZ lock, due to convenience.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Nice cutting wheel set [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This set comes with an EZ Lock Mandrel and several cutting wheels. I needed to remove an old lock that was on a gate outside, and this kit helped me make short work of the job. Later, I used the to help at my mother's house where some of the contractors had accidentally had some screws go too far into the side of her linen closet. I was able to easily remove the parts of the screw that were protruding through the wall, and then use some spackle to cover up the holes before sanding and painting. This kit is an essential part of my Dremel rotary set, and is a great first option for most light-to-medium cutting jobs!

I used to use these Dremel metal cutting wheels until they wore out. The ones I get now spin the centers out before I can make one cut, leaving a drawer full of almost new wheels with no way to attach them. The current quality is horrible. I'm looking for an alternativeattach them. The current quality is horrible. I'm looking for an alternative.

Does this fit on the ryobi rotary tool?

Does this fit on the ryobi rotary tool?
Posée par: Bayron
If it has an 1/8" (3.175mm) collett it will fit. I use it in my WEN Rotary Tool. The slop in the bowtie mount for the wheels tends to induce vibration into the tool. This may lead to premature nose bearing failure. Mine has been used for a little over a year now and my tool has some vibration now, even using drills or burrs. So, take convenience for tool wear. I found out that the wheels last quite a while anyway, so changing is not been a big deal. I have gone back to Heavy Duty Screw on cutoff wheels, way less chatter and nicks in the wheel. I will add that the 1-1/2" Dia. wheels are nice over the standard 1".

Will it cut abs pipe?

Posée par: Kyle
Yes and No. It is an abrasive disc that will technically melt it's way through the material as it cuts. So, Yes it can make it through. That being said, I have used my abrasive disc on plastics by lightly cutting and letting the plastic freeze off and cutting deeper with multiple passes. If you are using flat sheet material you can scratch the surface and then bend it to break on the line. Tubing will be more difficult to make it through. I would suggest a saw blade for best results. With a rotary tool even a saw blade will tend to melt it's way through. You have to use low rpm's.

Will it cut through nails

Posée par: max
Yes it will. In fact I just finished using it for that exact purpose. I built a shed with a 3-tab shingle roof. Nails were sticking out under the wood roof so I used my Dremel with the Metal cutting disks to cut the nails flush with the wood and it worked flawlessly. Hope this is helpful.

will it work with a wen brand rotary tool?

Posée par: duggy
Yes it will. I have a Wen, and it will fit any tool that will accept an 1/8" shaft, as long as the RPM limit isn't exceeded. You might notice in my picture that I even use it in my drill chuck and it works great.

Will it cut through metal bolts?

Posée par: PC
Yes, but it will not do it as well at a standard fiberous cutoff disc that mounts on a regular mandrel. The EZ Lock design introduces play into the disc which makes it harder to use for its intended purpose -- cutting things. FAIL.

how do you attach the disk to the mandrel?

I got it as part of a pain package deal with out instructions
Posée par: chip
Put the EZ402 in the tool first. Pull down on the center part of the mandrel. Match up Bow Tie and Twist. Let go of center and it will snap into place.
