Rated 4 de 5 de par Great for Metal I work in an Aerospace Manufacturing Firm and we use these particular stones quite often for deburr-ing metal, mostly heat treated steel with odd contours. As long as you don't have your Dremel at full RPM's and you do not use a heavy hand, these little guys can last quite a long time, often times I am brought back a nub as the stone is worn down to the core. I have used them and so have my guys and we all swear by them as a cheaper alternative to diamond embedded products.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Wears down quickly! Make sure to have plenty on hand because these guys wear down super quick. Used them on glass bottles for both grinding down rough surfaces as well as etching and it came out great, but I had to go through a couple just to finish the job so make sure that you have a couple on hand!

Rated 2 de 5 de par Short life Stone easily overheated and separated from the shaft. Was able to retrieve the stone and put it back on and still use it a few times after chasing around the porch but before the job was done it finally finished cracking and was no longer usable. I suspect lighter duty it might be fine but for my purpose it was pretty poor.

Rated 4 de 5 de par useful for stone and tile These small grinding stones are great for starting a drill hole in porcelain tile or granite. They grind the glaze on tile or give you a small divot in stone to then get a masonry bit going. Dremel doesn't recommend it so when doing this they won't last long. Expect one to three uses when you basically use it as a drill bit. It'll melt the grinding head off the epoxy if you keep it in one spot for too long.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Does Not Last with Glass I am installing a glass tile backsplash and purchased these bits to round notched corners to mitigate cracking at the stress points. I also am using these to grind down behind wiring devices so that wallplate screws can go back on. So far one bit fell apart, looks like these are glued into the shaft and the glue broke apart. The other ground down by half after only about 5-10 minutes of grinding small depressions for the screws. This is being used with an old Craftsman motor tool, so they are seeing light duty. It is terrible that these couldn’t even last this small project.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Just Right! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been trying to refinish the handle of an antique gun for a while, and everything I tried to strip it with just made a mess, and was damaging the piece. I picked up these grinding stones and they were the perfect tool for the job. They were able to get in and clean out the deep delicate areas I was making a mess of, and wound up looking like it was done by a professional, instead of my messy self. I could not be happier with these stones, especially being run with my new Dremel 4000! The best!

Rated 5 de 5 de par I’d never used a Dremel before I bought this. Decided... I’d never used a Dremel before I bought this. Decided to get it after I had been using files to clean up castings on the cast iron legs of a park bench. Figured a rotary tool would speed things up. Boy was I right. The kit I bought had a couple of grinding bits that were perfect for the job. Saved loads of time. I considered getting a cordless but settled on a corded model because of cost and the fact that this will be a “sometimes” tool rather than one I use frequently. Bottom line: versatile tool that is a good value at the price.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Perfect for my needs! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these quite some time ago & wasn't really sure what to use them for in my life, though I do know what they can be used for. I recently came into a lot of gemstones and gemstone jewelry pieces and I could not be happier with these! They are perfect for smoothing out problem areas in the gemstones so that I can fit them into whatever pendant finding I need them to. I also used them for labeling my dog's food bowl, which I then painted. Very easy to use for this.

Can this Dremel gizmo be used in an ordinary electric drill chuck??

Posée par: DomeHepot
Yes, but it will be almost useless since it requires high speed to be effective.

Hello, 🙂 Can I use this to drill a hole (or widen an existing hole) on a ceramic Christmas tree? The hole where the star goes is 3/16” but only goes down 1/2”. It then tapers to 1/8” which is too narrow for the star.

Posée par: Stephen
