Rated 5 de 5 de par Works great with concrete around low windows We had to break up a 4'x3'x1' concrete stoop and after drilling mini holes, sledge hammer, circular saw, nothing budged it. We can't use a jack hammer as we have windows that are just about to grade. Heard about this product and ordered some to the correct current temperatures. After renting a hammer drill and 1-1/2" drill bit, we drilled 15 holes. We saw results within 7 hours but let it sit for 48 hours as the whole stoop was broken and ready for removal of pieces. It didn't come in the bucket shown, but in a brown box with the bag and directions inside. Very easy to mix and you have to use the product within 10 minutes. We will be using this product on the larger rear concrete stoop too....next years project!

Rated 5 de 5 de par This stuff may seriously surprise you! Had annoying boulder holding up my patio walkway project. Rented the hammer drill, drilled holes as stated on product. Poured product. After watching for a week, nothing had happened. I contacted Jason at Ecobust with all the details. He suggested I had used the wrong temperature spread product and offered to send me the correct type III for free. The type III was not available when I bought the type II as the product line had just been launched. Temps had dropped in my area considerably after I had ordered from HD initially. We had a night of heavy rain and warm temps. Woke up in the morning to find the rock in pieces and now easy to remove! So, it was probably too cold when I poured and probably did not use enough water. I have to say, I was seriously impressed with the effectiveness of this product and the help from Ecobust. Highly recommended and as easy to use as making pancakes.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Works OK - lots of Drilling I had to break up concrete steps and a large landing. It was stong concrete, re-inforced with rebar and there were dowels pinning it to the pad below. I ordered two 11 lb buckets, it took 10 days to arrive at my house. For the first bucket I drilled 3/4" dia holes with my hammer drill. I know it's less then recomended but someone said it would work. It worked OK, about a 4" layer broke off. I rented a hammer drilled and drilled 1-1/2" holes for the 2nd bucket. It worked better (of course) but some of the ecobust stayed in power form and didn't work. A little frustrating after all that drilling. For the rest of the concrete I used another product. It was available locally and worked better. I had to rent the hammer drill a 2nd time for the last of the concrete. The 11 lb bags don't go very far if you're drilling 16" deep holes like me. But I wouldn't want larger bags, you only have 10 minutes to pour the material. Overall it was a slow process but much better then renting a jack hammer.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Interesting product to learn. Purchased to demolish huge coral stone in front yard. Required a lot of geometry because I was not about to mix the whole 11 pounds of compound per the instructions. Where I had success was when the drilled hole depth was at least the radius of surrounding stone to its edge. Pretty cool to see big chunks of stone lying on the ground 24 hours later. Concerned about the temperature range, next pour will be in the evening. This huge stone is in Florida.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great product that works! We had a large chunk of concrete in the yard that was the base of an antenna. It was about 3' deep so pretty much impossible to remove and all we wanted, was to take off the top 2-6” so we could plant grass. After drilling holes and filling with Ecobust, we waited a couple of days and, presto it was cracked to the depth of the holes. After that, simple prying with minimal sledgehammer work and the job was done. Definitely recommend this product!

In our project, we will need to use 4 trackhoes with hydraulic breakers to excavate the rock. Ecobust allows us to do the excavation with less skilled people. (Laborers mixing and pouring grout as compared to track how operators) Also saves equipment from working in harsh conditions. Also would allow more control of sizing the excavated rock to specific dimensions. Benefit for us to be able to do this to make top rap to be used on the project. With how rams, the rock will break to irregular shapes and sizes that may not meet project specification.

Rated 5 de 5 de par worked like a charm demoed concrete slab, drilling 7/8' holes, during the process of filling realized that underestimated amount of product, so mixed in some concrete, still everything cracked as promised in less than 24hr. GREAT product.

Directions call for 1.5 inch holes....only had a 1 inch bit...worked fine. Does not come in a bucket as shown, so have your own mixing container available.

Would this be an appropriate method for removing 800 sf of badly cracked, unlevel concrete courtyard?

Posée par: sol
Yes but you'll want more than 11 lbs. Be sure to pre-drill before you mix the material with water which activates it. The filling takes no time whatsoever.

Would ecobust work on a giant Boulder 4'h by 4' L by 3'W, How deep would I drill and what diameter of bit?

Posée par: DJ
Hello, Hopefully our answer can better assist with this question. In short the answer is YES Ecobust would work with the right drill pattern. For a boulder 4'x4'x3', you would use a 1.5" diameter drill bit. Drill 75% of the depth, and if that is not possible, do it in sections. The drill pattern would be 12" spacing between holes. For further info feel free to reach us direct. We can provide drill patterns and tech support. thank you Ecobust USA

does it eat through cement

Posée par: gs
It won't eat through anything. You drill a hole and it expands in the hole, fracturing whatever you drilled into. In your case, you'd end up cracking the pipe most likely. Good luck! Not sure how I'd solve your problem, but the contractor you worked with should be the one to fix it.

Can it be used to break a small section of cement without ruining the entire cement pad?

Posée par: Kevin
Home Depot rents a wet diamond saw for cutting concrete. Attach a garden hose and cut a straight line.

Is this quantity enough to break up a 4' X 6' concrete pad approximately 6"-8" thick?

Posée par: DAL
Assuming you use a drill pattern of 12" hole spacing, you would drill 3 holes across and 5 holes wide for total of 15 holes, and at 8" thick you would drill down 90% to 7". Total needed, would be 15 holes x 7 "=105" or 8.75 feet of hole. Each bag fills about 8.75 feet of hole, so one bag 11lbs would complete this project.

Would this product be useful in breaking up a brick mailbox?

Posée par: Jeff
Yes, but you must drill holes in it first. This is time consuming and difficult. It would be much easier to just use a sledge hammer. This will dislodge the bricks from the mortor between them without much problem.
