I chose to go with Ecosmart because of the lower cost when compared to other brands. The LEDs started to fail after about a year. At first I though that I just had one or two bad ones but that just keep failing. I'm up to about 7 failures in less than 2 years. Some of the bulbs that have failed are definitely less than a year old. My old incandescent bulbs lasted longer than these. I guess I'm not saving any money when they fail at this rate. I'm going to start a using a different brand and hopefully have better performance.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Bulbs Last Weeks or Months, Not Years I bought two two-packs of these bulbs about five months ago. Two of the bulbs have already died, and one of the bulbs was dead on arrival. The fourth bulb is still working, but based on my experience and what others have posted online, it too will quit in the next few months. The bulbs look good, and I'm sure they're still more efficient than regular incandescent bulbs. But save yourself the headache and buy Philips instead. Of the 15 or so Philips LED bulbs I've had in the house over the last few years, only one has died. They're worth the extra dollar or so per bulb.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Junk I bought these about 6 months ago, general household use, almost all have died or flicker on and off. As a comparable, I have Phillip's bulbs in an outdoor location that have ran almost constantly for almost 2 years and still going strong. These ecosmart brand bulbs are cheap garbage. Do not waste your money.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Many failed after 1 year. Last year I bought over 20 of these EcoSmart day-light 60w equivalent bulbs when was on sale. Half of the bulbs failed after 1 year (warranty). All where used indoor. I think old halogen bulbs would last longer than 1 year. I would not use these even given for free. It is just too much hassle to change the build. Since than I replaced with Phillips bulbs (bit more expensive but hopefully will last few years).

Rated 1 de 5 de par You get what you pay for I bought this because they were the best value. However, these bulbs burn out quickly. I have to replace them often. I would not buy them again. I do not recommend these bulbs.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Junk - don't last very long Bought a pack of these about 6 months ago and they are already failing, one after the next. Says 5 year warranty and will last for 10 years or 11,000 hours. In a lightly used room they now come in dim, brighten up after a few minutes then flicker off again. Cheap price and cheap quality. I expected better from Home Depot to stock such poor quality items.

Rated 1 de 5 de par ABSOLUTE JUNK! 20+ bulbs failed within 1 year. Extremely disappointed in this product, I have had incandescent and CFL bulbs last WAY longer. Most of these bulbs are made in China. I bought a few packs of these bulbs to deploy in my home. Voltage to my home varies between 117V to 123V at the socket, frequency generally spot on 60Hz. I have had these bulbs fail in numerous non-dimmable fixtures and I have many more that do the horror movie flickering (I have saved these purposely for Hallowe'en). I have both the older 9.5W and newer 9W versions (ceramic and plastic bases) - they vary by the box. I am not sure what criteria the OEM uses for Mean Time Before Failure but they definitely don't last beyond a few hundred hours. I have gone to a competitor to buy replacements under a trusted well known Canadian brand name.

Do these get hot?

Posée par: Ottawa wet bar
No, they get warm but still safe to handle with bare hands but wear work gloves with latex coating or similar, the dome is quite slick and I worry about dropping them (hasn't happened yet).

If this bulb only draws 9W can it be used in a 40W rated fixture

Posée par: John14620
If the bulb can be used in enclosed fixture by 108V~132V and suitable for the dimension on fixture, it can be used in a 40W rated fixture.

Is this safe for outside by the garage door? It has light fixture but open to install light bulbs. This is what I bought and I am nervous. Want to be sure it will be ok
Posée par: Sugar
It's not rated for outdoor use, however there is no danger to use it outside or in the application you have described. It's likely the bulbs will fail before 11,000 hours.

Do you need an led compatible light switch for an led bulb?

Posée par: Cash0402
Hi, it works with any light switch. When it comes to dimmer switches then yes, it needs to be LED compatible.
