Partially my fault for not asking questions on something I would have never even thought about. This washing machine does not allow you to set the time for your loads. It puts in it's own default times for various options you select. You have no manual override or control. You actually have to buy a more expensive model to get the ability to select a "Quick wash cycle". You have to buy the 400 series to get "20 Min. quick wash" or the 500 Series to get an "18 min quick wash" or a 600 Series to get "15 min quick wash". That's just horrible. You have no control over anything unless you want to mix and match different settings. It is nowhere near anything I would call quiet. I would never recommend this beast.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Machine performance defeats the goal of high efficiency. This review is for the Electrolux model ... Machine performance defeats the goal of high efficiency. This review is for the Electrolux model EFLW317TIW washing machine purchased new from Home Depot March 2019. I want to be specific about that as I find that many reviews here seem to be for driers or mention features not found on this model washer. I also apologize for the length of this review, but wanted to provide as much information as possible in the hopes it will help others. Pros: A bottle of detergent will last you a lifetime because you have to use a tablespoon or less to keep this machine from developing too many suds. Satisfied with spin cycle balancing and speeds. Controls are simple to operate. Cons: Cannot use a tide pod (a single one generates too many suds) Clothes feel hard. No more soft towels. Typically spend 3 hours to clean a load of laundry if excess sudsing occurs. When purchasing a new washer, please be aware that federal regulations have changed limiting the amount of water that a washing machine can use in order to be considered energy star compliant. Our previous high efficiency front load washer was purchased in 2010 and we were unaware of the changes in the regulations since that time and so did not know many new washing machines no longer use enough water. You will save yourself a lot of time and mental duress by researching that before you purchase a new washer. At no point in time during our purchase process for a new washer did a salesman mention this to us. You need to decide if you want clean clothes or to use a minimal amount of water as that will impact your purchase decision. We now wish we had paid to repair our old high efficiency washer instead of buying new. Our new Electrolux washer was delivered on time. The only issue with the set up was that the installer did not completely turn on the cold water. An easy fix for us (turn the knob). Once we started using the washer, we began to notice gray fibers building up on the door and drum edge as well as a strong rubber smell. Initially we thought it was because the washer was new and kept waiting for it to go away. A closer inspection revealed the drum was rubbing the gasket and shaving away the rubber. We called Electrolux who sent out a repairman. The repairman said the gasket needed to be replaced and ordered a new gasket. Approximately a week later, another repairman comes out to install the new gasket and he notices the front of the washer is actually dented in (which was the real reason why the drum was rubbing the gasket). So he ordered a new front. A week or two later the repairman comes back and replaces the front. This fixed the issue with the drum rubbing the gasket. As far the washer functionality, there is typically no visible water in this washer. Only during the rinse cycle will the water level briefly cover the bottom of the gasket. Since we purchased this machine, we have spent many hours of many days trying to figure out how much detergent (we use Tide HE liquid detergent) to use and how to get enough water in the machine to satisfactorily clean our laundry and remove the detergent during the rinse cycle. The washer instructions tell you to follow the instructions on the detergent bottle for measuring your detergent. That is too much detergent! I made another call to Electrolux to talk with the support person and we were told we were using too much detergent. When I told them I’d had a problem with stains not coming out, she said I wasn’t using enough detergent. So which is it? Am I using too much or not enough? I said I thought the problem was really because the machine didn’t have enough water in it. So they sent out the technician again. He said you shouldn’t use more than two tablespoons of liquid detergent in it (the lowest bar on the tide bottle lid is 3 tablespoons). He ran the machine (with no laundry in it) and said it was working as designed. Using videos and notes we had made from previous washes, we continued to suffer through trying various combinations of settings to try and get this machine to where we could just set it to wash a load and not have to do multiple rinses. Still no luck. We finally called Electrolux support again and asked if the technician could change the settings so that it would use more water. The technician came out, said he could not override the water level and ran it again (with no laundry in it) and said it was working as designed. By this time we’ve started to notice threads being pulled loose and pilling of some of our cotton clothing. We suspect it is due to the items rubbing together in the washing machine with insufficient water present. We have become so disappointed in this machine that we decided to try and return it. We checked with Electrolux first. They said they do not sell washing machines so we’d have to work with Home Depot. We provided Home Depot with the documentation showing our history of repair calls and visits. They began the process of moving us up the chain in their store. This has resulted in them telling us Electrolux says we have to call them and Electrolux again saying we have to talk to Home Depot. The Home Depot representatives have not called us back when they said they would and we have to call them. While we will continue to work with Electrolux and Home Depot to try and come to a satisfactory resolution, I wanted to go ahead and get this review online so that anyone else considering this machine would have additional information to help them make a purchasing decision. Good luck with your search! An additional note regarding detergent: Electrolux shipped this machine with two Tide HE pod samples. So we washed two loads with these pod samples. Since it is a pod, obviously there is no measuring on our part. We had the same outcome both times. The machine generated an enormous amount of suds (far more than we experienced with the liquid detergent) and it took multiple wash cycles and rinse cycles to remove the suds. With the second pod I finally ended up adding some water with vinegar to kill the suds. That was after having run it through an extra wash cycle and two extra rinse cycles trying to get the soap out of our laundry and the machine. But at least we know the machine is working according to Electrolux’s design!
