Rated 4 de 5 de par Nice Door, Straightforward installation My local store surprised me by having this 30" door in stock. It looks great, is fairly heavy and seems well-built given the modest price. The install was pretty simple but will go easier and faster if you have a cordless drill and driver, since there are many holes to drill and screws to install. It does take a fair amount of time (about 2 hrs for me - with a reasonable skill level) but if you read the directions carefully it's almost foolproof. The only issue I encountered is that I couldn't get the closer tension adjusted to where the door would close and latch reliably when the inner door is closed without it slamming when the inner door is open. The air trapped between the two doors is just enough resistance to prevent the storm door from latching. Apparently the seal around this door is a little TOO effective.

Rated 2 de 5 de par My handyman had no trouble installing this door, however, Home Depot caused ME to wind up in Urgent Care with a head injury! I am a senior (82), small woman, and nowhere in the delivery information was there any indication of the weight of this package. Only when I tried to handle it did I realize it was too heavy for me—and by that time, it was too late. The door tipped, knocked me over, and I was injured in the fall. Had I known in advance how heavy this was, I would never have attempted it on my own. I get regular deliveries from UPS and FedEx, and the weight of the package is ALWAYS listed. Home Depot needs to do this, too!

Rated 4 de 5 de par Door installed & works fine Door installed & works fine. Installer knew his craft, but cut corners piecing in small bits wood at top where closer connects to door inner frame & outside bottom rather than replace inner moulding in 1 piece, as should have been normally done. I had to calk & patch those spots & entire outer moulding myself before repainting outer frame, so door works, fine, but look is as if I'd done myself & odd at top especially where closure device screws into a 3" bit of wood vs the inner moulding being one solid piece as doors normally are. Service was on time & pleasant. Door very pricy @$250 door & same for install, so that is my only advice to anyone replacing one this way.

Rated 5 de 5 de par This is my second Emco door purchase and installation. I... This is my second Emco door purchase and installation. I put a 300 series in the front of the house last year and was impressed by the small details (nice hardware, covered screw heads, roll up screen, etc.) and just purchased the 200 model for the back door. A bit more Spartan, but the quality seems quite good for the money. What REALLY impresses me with the Emco line is the installation kit. Everything is laid out in color coded bags. There are spacers to ensure a perfect fit including a shim and a rain cap extender (which I needed!) if your opening is not perfect. They even include a new drill bit. I will be buying another one next year for my Tenant's entrance. Thanks Emco.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Disappointed I am considering returning this door now that it's installed. I replaced another Emco door that I installed about 10 years ago as moisture had finally invaded the core and it was falling apart. The older door fit extremely well into my standard 30x80 frame. This new door is actually significantly smaller than the door it replaced! This door is about 1" shorter and 5/8" narrower that the previous storm door. I don't understand the reasoning behind this, other than to save money in manufacturing, as I can't imagine that 30x80 doors have reduced in size over the years. I first noticed this oddity as I installed the drip cap (top frame for the door). This piece actually did not overlap the surrounding brick moulding, and hung out in space below it. A second "Drip Cap Extension" needed to be added. Due to the resulting gaps between the extension and the drip cap, I needed to caulk to fill them in. The final indication was when the latch side of the frame was installed next. Spacers are attached to the door, and then the frame piece is placed against the spacers. Then the frame is screwed to the brick moulding to install. The frame piece, virtually identical to the one it replaced from the previous door, installed about 5/8" in from the older one. This means that most of the frame on this side is not backed by the brick moulding, and is floating in space. Not as sturdy as the older installation by any definition. There is also a significant gap at the bottom of this piece as it's not against the brick moulding, and it looks like it would be extremely difficult to caulk. I had to use both spacers for the frame mounted catch for the door latch, but it is still not much of an overlap to hold the door closed. I've attached images, all taken from an interior view.
