I ordered this stove online and had it shipped to my local HD in Phoenix, so I could transport it to our cabin in the Arizona high country. It was placed in the back of my truck by fork lift and I easily unloaded by sliding down a couple 2x6s. This was a late spring purchase, so I was able to get all of the stove pipe and attic kit half price at a local farm supply store. After installing the pipe and roof jack etc, we lit 5 fires before it warmed up enough to not need the heat source. The stove only required 2 or 3 small logs to produce plenty of heat. This is our first wood stove, but were able to figure out a good lighting technique and air control for a smokeless fire. I did not need a built in damper in the 6" stove pipe. As already mentioned by others, the built in fan is noisy but does move decent amount of air. I found that a 20" box fan moved more air quietly. This stove warmed up my 900 sqft. garage with 10' ceilings, in a few hours. I am very happy with this purchase. I later found out the many of my neighbors in the area also have this same model stove.

One has to either shove the ashes out or sweep them into a small outlet on the floor of the stove so that they fall into the ash tray.

This wood stove had broken bricks when we got it and tried to get them replaced but Englander's one website doesn't work and they don't really want to fix it, just seems like a run around. This also doesn't heat our house very well. I know we had a cold year but the bedroom would get down in the low 50's even getting up in the middle of the night to fill it back up. Will probably look for something different for next winter any one want a cheap stove?

It's been a pretty good stove for the money. We burn it for 6 to 7 months straight every year about 12- 24 hrs a day. Holds good heat for about 6 hrs or so on a full load of pine and will maintain coals for 8 hrs to get it going again. We do use this for a main heat source on a well insulated 1750 SQF main level if the temp does not go below about 10 degrees F. I have experienced minor warping of the front door area over the years and have went to a thicker fire rope to help maintain the seal. I broke the catalytic converter on year 5 cleaning the stove pipe (my fault) and was able to find a replacement online. Not a super high quality stove but it does serve it purpose and so far the metal has maintained it's integrity as far a burn out goes. No concerns about leaving it burning while we are gone.

The manual http://www.heatredefined.com/assets/images/general/13-NC.pdf shows that a double wall pipe increase clearance requirements, but it was my understanding DW pipe should reduce clearance requirements compared to Single Wall pipe.

    Posée par: Allie_87
Double wall pipe allows it to burn hotter so the clearance to combustibles would be further away not closer.
