Rated 4 de 5 de par Works as it should I installed new gutters, and was dismayed to find some water bypassing between the gutters and fascia. This product slipped right in, and solved the problem. Regarding the other review that complains about no explanation on how to mate two pieces; just use some sealant. If you feel the need to overlap the segments, then just trim the lower protrusion off (snips) so the top section will lay flat. Even with an overlap, I'd still want a bead of sealant.

Rated 2 de 5 de par How to install The cross section of this flashing will not allow it to overlap and there are no install instructions or recommendations here or on the Amerimax web site. How do you seal the edges if they are just butted against each other? I have sent messages to Amerimax and they do not respond.

This is a great drip edge because, unlike aluminum drip edge, it wont dent, bend and crinkle while in transport or during installation. Thats why I love it. The problem with it is overlapping one piece over another on a roof longer than 10'. Due to its design, it is hard to overlap as is. I overlap it by cutting out a 1" section of the vertical part of the flashing, basically the vertical part of the "T". One that is cut out, I can overlap that section on to the one next to it. I use tin snip to cut the section off. Nail holes are also premade which is nice.

The product worked fine but it looked horrible being dirty and bent in places from wherever it was stored at Home Depot! But it goes on the roof over the gutters, under the shingles and it works.

If your house is like mine the angle you have on house to get the angle straight might push your gutter away from your house 1/4 to /1/2 inch this drip edge fills that gap perfectly goes up under shingles and lays on the gutter causing all the water from the roof to enter the gutter and down the spout. only draw back is trying to cut it to perfect length without it shattering I recommend a utility knife and cut it that way. so my recommendation is 4.8 stars

Juicing is when oils from manufacturing the shingles is drawn out by the sun and then washed off by rain causing the fascia to stain looking like tiger stripes. In Florida , code requirements dictate that roof shingles cannot protrude beyond the drip edge to reduce the potential tear off of shingles in a high wind. As a result water constantly runs down the fascia causing stains from the oils. I reduced the width of the top flange of tge vinyl drip edge and cut off the flange meant to contact the fascia. I slid the modified vinyl drip edge between the shingles and existing aluminum drip edge with a little contact cement. I let the new drip edge protrude 1/2" beyond the existing aluminum drip edge. As a result, water no longer runs off the roof onto the fascia and eliminates the tiger stripes. This is not a problem up North because shingles are required to extend beyond the Drip edge by 1/2" to 3/4".

Can this be used with a gutter guard?

Posée par: Denver
Yes. My gutters, installed professionally, have both drip edge and gutter guard. There are lots of ways to install gutter guard. You'll need to follow the directions that work best in your situation.

Can this be installed using a two-sided tape? Recommended brand of tape? Does it have ridges designed to "catch" on the bottom of the felt paper?

I want to install under existing asphalt roof shingles after replacing the lowest piece of 1x8 shiplap decking that has been water damaged because there was no drip edge at all along the eaves of the house. I will slide it under the felt paper which is below the shingles.
Posée par: Chuck
I would not use any kind of tape for outdoor applications. Roofing nails are the way to go. Adhesives like glue for the tricky places that cannot get a hammer into it.

Do you cover the top to the outside edge with felt and shingles, or leave the overhanging inch left uncovered?
Posée par: caneman
The entire drip edge gets covered in felt/shingles. The ribbing on top simply stops water from trickling under the shingles or felt
