Rated 5 de 5 de par 6 mm poly vapor barrier Worked well to keep the dust in the work area and also as a vapor barrier between the concrete and laminate flooring. I suspect if you were planning anything sinister it would work well for that also. (ps: disregard the last part… want to see if it’ll get posted or if someone will edit it)

Is this what I use to seal a window for the winter? i.e. extra insulation layer for an old window... that you stick and blowdry tight the edges? Or is that a different product? Any suggestions? Thank you!

Posée par: Al28
No, it is not clear. I wouldn't use a hair dryer on it either. It is more of a floor protection for paint or used to hold up the insulation inside your home behind the drywall

Is it good enough to use as window flashing. I.E. wrap entire garden shed, cut rough opening for Windows and fold back? I read that was one way to waterproof a window.

Posée par: Sadie
yes but think about corners and other details: it will not stretch at all.

Can I use this Vapour Barrier as a moisture barrier underlayment for laminate flooring? It appears to be the same thickness (0.006") and same material as moisture barriers. Any difference between Vapour Barriers vs. Moisture Barriers?

Posée par: DIYer
(6mils not inches)   Yes you can but you will have to make sure you tape the seams with technical tape like tuck tape, and give yourself enough overlap. The underlayment designed for flooring will already have an adhesive strip and a marked overlap. It often also has your cushioning substrate like bamboo or foam attached to it usually.  As for the difference between of vapour barrier and a moisture barrier: some vapour barrier‘s can allow air through in one direction to allow a wall to breathe from the inside while stoppiing vapour from entering from the outside. Regular 6mil Poly is a 100% barrier

Does this block any UVA or UVB light? or allows UVA to pass through?

Posée par: Morgan
Quite sure this does not block or allow any type of UV light. Says nowhere in the specifications that it does anything like this. Which makes sense, it's in the wall material that will be covered on both sides by other wall elements for the entirety of its product life span, except for the short period of installation time. It will be in the dark, protected from any ultraviolet rays.

Vapour barrier near the window has been damaged due to long time exposure to from the sun. Now we need to reinstall a new vapoue barrier. Do we don't need to remove all the old ones and cover it directly?

Posée par: vikon
Its better to cut the affected area and install on it but if you dont want to do this you can install on top of the existing vapour barrier

Planning to put vinyl flooring in basement directly over concrete. Planks come with attached underpad. Is it a good idea to put this vapour barrier first over the concrete floor and then put the planks directly over vapour barrier?

Posée par: bgoya
Yes it is. I put laminate flooring down and used this in between the concrete floor and the laminate. It's been 4 years now with no problem.

Would this work to lay down over old concrete in basement to help with mildew smell and that is crumbling some? Need to lay new underlay and carpet over top.

Posée par: Mary
EVERBILT Super-Six poly will only control moisture from entering the area through the floor however to help with the mildew smell, having a dehumidifier is a great option to assist eliminate this problem.
