Rated 2 de 5 de par Can't get parts from manufacturer - failed impeller after 1 year I used the pump with a float switch in a french drain in my backyard to pump water when it rained. I don't think it ran much but perhaps the float switch stuck open. At any rate, the pump stopped pumping after 1 year in Southern CA (ie light rainfall). It was simple to disassemble and I found the plastic impeller cracked and broken where it mounted to the shaft so it wouldn't spin with the motor. I called Everbilt and they couldn't get the part - from China. They also couldn't help me in any other way, so I'm throwing away a lightly used pump because of a cheap plastic part that should be an easy replacement. I definitely plan to find something else to replace it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very versatile pump because it can be used as a submersible or transfer pump. The box includes a short hose with a weighted suction head for the transfer pump operation. The weighted head is nice because you don't have to hold it down during use. If used as a submersible pump it will suction down to 1/2 inch of water. If using the transfer pump end it will suction down to 1/8 inch of water. The body of the pump is plastic so it won't rust. The fittings for hose attachment are also plastic. I think the pump would have been better if the hose fittings were brass.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Great pump, but..... I've had this pump for more than a year now and use weekly it to drain and refill my large 4,200 gal water tanks among other things. It works great, but the power cord came loose from the rubber boot one piece fitting on the top of the pump and it trips my GFI outlets. called Everbilt to get a replacement. No luck. The rep there told me they don't sell a replacement. I don't want to risk rewiring the plug and messing with the water tight integrity of it so I'm screwed. Overall I'd give it a thumbs up, but make sure you NEVER move or grab the pump by the power cord alone. Eventually, the wiring will come loose and you'll have to buy a whole new pump.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So this is a really nice pump, its very versatile, you can use it as a submersible pump or as a utility pump (out of the water). I ran this pump for two hours flushing my tankless water heater. Quiet and strong, work all the way through without any issues. I love the fact that I can use it outside as a utility pump as well as a submersible, really one pump for two functions. Very nice. Seems to be built very nicely, Instruction are clear. Really impressed with this pump.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In the past we have experienced heavy water pooling after some of our Florida storms and also hurricanes. We had been using an old pump I rigged up to move standing water but it was very slow and not at all reliable. We are very happy getting this 2-1 pump so that we are prepared for our next heavy water event. We did a small trial run and this dude performs unbelievably well. It runs smoothly and fairly quietly and worked like a champ right out of the box. I was very happy with the volume of water it moves so quickly. Standard size fittings for garden hoses is also pure genius.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered this Everbilt 1/4 HP 2-in-1 utility pump so that I would be prepared if my sump pump ever fails again. All I will have to do is attach a garden hose, run the hose out the walk-up door, set the pump in the water and plug it in. If the water is less than 1-1/2 inches deep, you cannot use the pump as a submersible, but you can set it up as a transfer pump with the included strainer and suction hose. The conversion from submersible to transfer pump is very easy. The pump is very light weight (just under 10 pounds) and seems durable. This is a good pump for occasional use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great little utility pump that offers large performance. The pump can be used both vertically and horizontally. When used horizontally, it comes with a suction hose that connects on the bottom of the pump. (See photo). I use the pump to help empty the water in my hot tub. The pump lowers the water quickly. My only concern, is the pumps ability to be used fully submerged. I haven’t done this because the instructions are a little vague when it comes to vertical use. I would still recommend this pump. It gets the job done for my use.

You do have to follow the instructions regards to priming it. If the water is creeping up the clear tube then pressure is building. That's a good sign. Once the whole system fills with water it moves the water pretty quickly. I had to drain rainwater from a storm that had collected on my pool cover. It was causing it to sag alot and I couldn't open the pool cover. Siphoning was working ok but it was really slow. This Everbuilt pump did the trick. I used the transfer setup and pulled most of the water off the pool cover and back into the pool in a few hours.

I want to use this inside of a water tank for pressure washing, when the pressure washer isnt being used, how do i make a return line?

I want to add a return line to prevent the pump from getting hot.
Posée par: Mzkc
Mzkc-I'm not sure what a return line would be. But this pump should not be used for recirculating water and must be disconnected when not in use. -GP Support

How do I use this pump to drain a hot tub? Can I fully submersible it even thought the electric cord comes out of the top of the unit and will be under water?

Posée par: Becca
Absolutely. I use this sometimes to drain my above ground pool. Even have used it before as a sort of vacuum for the bottom of the pool as well for small debris. Has great suction to it and is much quieter than I thought it'd be. Works great and pumps out very quickly! It is indeed fully submergible while it is in use.

Can I use this pump for a continous use for 48 hours to recirculating the pool water passig thru a sediment filter?

Posée par: Hector
I don't know about a sediment filter. I ran it for about a week but had to reposition it 2x a day. I used to empty a pool.

I need to empty 10-20 gallons of water with very small, magnetic solids (less than 1/32"). I'm not seeing the inner workings material makeup. Would this pump collect magnetic particulate?

Posée par: MWJr
MWjr- This pump has not been tested for solids of any kind. We would not recommend for this pump to pick up water with magnetic solids. -GP Support.

The + wire in the cord broke. There was absolutely no rough handling. The pump was set in the bottom of my pool and was only used a handful of times. Needless to say I'm pretty unhappy with this. Are replacements available?

Posée par: unhappy
Most pumps carry a warranty that is honored in-store.  Ever built is Home Depot’s proprietary brand.  If you still have the receipt you’re golden.  Otherwise, take the pump in and ask for an even exchange. Either way you shouldn’t have a problem getting it replaced.

Can this pump be used to drain a 4 foot deep above goid pool in the submerged mode?

Posée par: Mike
Yes the pump was built to empty a flooded basement so it can easily empty an above ground pool in the submerged mode.

The box was in good shape when i bought it, but the manual was crinkled and there was sawdust and some debris on the pump. Was this the case for anyone else? I am concerned the pump was used then returned because perhaps there was something wrong with it

Posée par: spec
Your experience was possibly an exception, I set up my pump and it works good.
