It was accurate out of the box. I then took it to task. I cut angle iron and it was just as easy as cutting wood. The metal was cool to the touch after cutting. Very little sparking and definitely no trail of "fire" like my other metal cutting saws. I will recommend this to everyone.

I have a metal fabrication shop and purchased this saw just for one job where I had to cut 2x2x.125 steel angle at all different lengths and degrees. Saw was great. I thought it would be a one time use, but we use it almost everyday and it’s still going strong.

It's a FANTASTIC saw for this type of multi-material project. This one saw, with one blade, really does cut multiple materials, just as advertised. ...and it's a fantastic value. I'm replacing my existing wooden deck with a composite deck, and adding an aluminum rail system. This saw is perfect for this project. I've removed the old wooden deck planks for disposal. I cut them in pieces to get them to the dump. The Evolution Power Tools Multi-Material Sliding Miter Saw cut right through the screws that I missed when removing those old wooden planks. I added some pressure treated boards so I can attach the skirting, and this saw powerfully cut right those 2" x 12's". I'm now cutting the resin deck boards to length, and that same saw and blade is doing an outstanding job of providing a clean, accurately cut edge. I look forward to using the same saw and blade to cut the aluminum rail as well. I'm able to do the entire project with this one saw and blade. I don't know what project is next, but I'm pretty sure this saw will handle it. Great saw. Great value.

Worth every penny. Bought online. Awesome experience picking it up at Home Depot. Fast delivery too. Go for it. This product is not on display. Only internet thru Home Depo.

Rated 4 de 5 de par It works pretty good with the exception of the blade... It works pretty good with the exception of the blade that comes with it. It don't work real well on wood, but not much of a complaint I would say. Throw a new blade on it and cut away. You may want to purchase some more tracks because not much track that comes with it. You will be way short if you are looking to cut the length of a full sheet of plywood. You may even want to go with a different brand of tracks if you plan on ripping sheets of plywood. Its compatible with the Makita so you have a few options for tracks.

Does this work with both 5/8" and 1" arbor blades? From the manufacturer's manual online, it looks like you flip the center piece to choose which one. Is that correct?

As others may have explained, there are 2 conflicting Evolution statements. The warranty explains that it is void if you install non-Evolution brand components while the manual explains how to reverse the washer to install blades with 5/8" arbors. Wish I could be more helpful.

It spools up slowly to about 1850, I thought it might be too fast for cold hardened 1/8 to1/4 inch steel angle, channel and square but it worked great!
