Rated 5 de 5 de par The Real Deal Ok, this product works well if...your stucco is not painted in oil. My misery is your gain. Here's how you do it. Dry scrape the stucco with a scraper to knock off the high spots and break the paint seal. Use a foam roller to apply the product on the heavy side. Wait at least 1.5 hours before you first scrape. If you're lucky, you'll scrap almost down to the drywall in certain spots, others spots will look like you didn't apply anything at all. Apply another heavy coat in areas that really need it... basically anywhere you cut in to paint. Wait another 1.5 hours and scrap again. Now... using the hottest water out of the tap in a spray bottle... spray the rest of the area down and let it sit for a bit...scrap again...it gets easier as you go. Let the product do the work... BTW it set off my smoke alarms...open some windows. Enjoy...looks way better.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Can make your task easier This is an amazing product! I used this for painted popcorn ceiling and it gave me an awesome results, no need to cover it up with plastic wrap, what I did was... I just sprayed it with water every 30minutes and I kept it moisten for 2 hours and I starts scrapping to the area that has this product. Buy it! You’ll not regret it!

Rated 4 de 5 de par Easy to use [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Max strip popcorn ceiling remover has been a life saver. My husband and I have been remodeling our home. The bathroom has popcorn ceiling and we have been so hesitant on messing with it because we knew it would take some work removing the ceiling. The Max strip popcorn ceiling remover has done wonders! My husband sprayed it on and we let it set around 20 minutes. We went in their with a five in one and started scrapping. It literally peeled right off. It took hardly any effort at all. It just peeled off so easily. I was so happy. We have decided to do it on the rest of the house now so ce we know it can be done so easily.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Ceiling stipple adventure Great product, although instructions tell to cover the product with plastic, almost impossible to do that on a ceiling. Patience is needed, used a 5” wide paint brush to apply to an area 20-25 sq ft, then waited 20 to 30 minutes and using a 4” wide scraper pealed the stipple covering in strips 4” wide by 24” long. My gripe with packaging, instructions say to shake well, this results in amount sticking in handle void. Ended up cutting off along line of label, discarding top and handle, and then using a small spatula to get all material out to be used.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Heavy Duty! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Max Strip Popcorn Ceiling Remover was the perfect product for getting rid of the unsightly popcorn ceiling in my kitchen. We used to have a drop ceiling and my husband removed it a few years ago and decided to popcorn texture the upper ceiling and I have hated it ever since. It yellows easily and it's impossible to dust. EVERYTHING gets stuck in it. This remover was just the ticket to get my ceiling smooth again. So easy to use and extremely effective. Definitely need to let it soak overnight to make it easier to scrape off, but works very well!

Rated 3 de 5 de par Time consuming for older, painted stucco An excellent, fast paint stripper and if you have a newer, unpainted popcorn ceiling it would work as described. Our kitchen ceiling had very old, plaster, humongous stucco that had been painted numerous times. It took 2-3 coats and A LOT of painstaking scraping to remove the stucco and we went through 3 jugs. It worked, but I would only recommend if you are trying to preserve an historic ceiling, as we were. Very time consuming! I was impressed that there was almost no odour and it was less toxic than some alternatives.

Rated 5 de 5 de par It works! I’ll say this, it’s still going to be an awful job, but this stuff does a good job at removing the popcorn. I recommend doing small patches and then scraping within 30-45 as it starts to dry out. Also have a spray bottle ready with hot water. Definitely not fun but we’ve done other painted ceilings with just water and manual labour and this was much easier. Don’t forget to neutralize the product, very important step!

Rated 2 de 5 de par Next time I will avoid buying this product Not as simple to use as one would think/expect. It is better to remove popcorn ceiling just with soapy warm water and use this product for those areas where the popcorn ceiling was not removed entirely. Knowing now what I know, I rather have avoided this purchase.

70 year old house = 70 year old first layer of paint under about 5 to 6 more layers , will this remove/soften all the layers ?

Posée par: Scrapping aint easy
It will soften most and remove some but a lot of the product is needed. And it’s very messy process.

Will this product work on a ceiling that has been textured with plaster?

Posée par: Doug
I never dealt with plaster.  The main function of the product is to break the paint.  You only need water to remove unpaint popcorn ceiling.  I would think same apply for plaster but I can't confirm.

Can this product remove popcorn(stucco) ceilings painted with oil paint on top?

Posée par: Purchaser 101
yes, you should be able to.  It's a not easy.  You will need to work for it.  You need to seal it very tighly with a plastic sheeting.  The sheeting will need to fix to the ceiling.   Also, I had to use a 2" rigid knife.  Forget about a wider knife.  Then, I sanded the ceiling with a palm sander hooked to the shopvac.  Finally, I had to hire a specialist to mud the ceiling with one coat.  I rather tell you up front what you are getting into.  I'm happy I did at the end of all that though.

We have a light overspray of paint on our concrete floor the result of the painter not covering the floor while painting the room.  The overspray is very light in thickness - will the results of this product allow for a final epoxy finish??

Posée par: Pulione
For removal of overspray paint on concrete we recommend EZ Strip All Purpose Remover. Treat area and cover with plastic let set until paint is softened enough to scrub clean with a stiff bristle brush and warm water.

Will this product soften up a thin mortar/concrete finish over a concrete porch but the surface has now cracked

Posée par: John
This product is designed to remove interior drywall mud textures that have been painted and thick layers of paint from drywall. This product will not remove concrete mortar.

Can I dilute ez strip with water and spray it?

Posée par: Steve 58
Hi Steve, EZ Strip Popcorn Ceiling Remover should never be diluted with water as this will effectively neutralize the product. We suggest using a large brush or a thick nap roller to apply rather than using a sprayer. Thank you for your question. Take care.
