Rated 1 de 5 de par Worst tool I've ever purchased After reading reviews just now, maybe it was the freeman nails that were the cause of a double strike maybe 1/3rd of the time. It doesn't matter how careful you are, it's going to happen... over and over and over and over and over. After 1,000 LF of siding, i threw it to the ground in disgust and borrowed another nailer... This piece of junk cost me time, and material... and a bit of my sanity. Home Depot has just got to NOT drive the prices down so far. And should not carry junk like this. The only thing that gave me any sanity was taking pictures of some quite humorious messes so I could post this review.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Works pretty good for half the cost of the others Needs to be oiled good before use and during, like any other gun. Been using it for Fiber cement siding. shooting 2 1/4 nails, at 95 psi at the gun (i have a regulator on the end of the gun) have to finish a few with a hammer but thats not that big of a deal, probly a good thing really... Tried "wire collated nails" , they dont work for fiber cement, the little wire makes the nail hole too big and make the depth inconsistant. Use plastic collated nails only! Still early stages of my project but ive run about 1000 nails so far and its working good. Trigger is very touchy and it will double fire if you hold it too tight. I think its worth the purchase for one or two siding jobs, its got to be cheaper than renting.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Does a Pro job @ a DIY price I have been the building trades over 40 years and this nailer works as well as any high $ nailer I have owned in the past. I sold most of my nailers several years ago and the ones I still have are dinosaurs & hard to find fasteners for. This nailer works well on cement siding (once you learn how to use it). Selecting the right fastener for the job is key for satisfaction, there are many options to choose from that can be used with this nailer. I would have put these nailers to work on my framing crews if I could have.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Awesome nail gun I have owned a construction co. for 23 years, I have used pneumatic nailers for the last 20 years, with many framing, siding & roofing nailers. The quality and construction of this tool is top of the line, from the side bumpers to protect the tool to the action when you pull the trigger. the depth adjustment works great and the hook supplyed to hook the tool to my belt saves me time and money. I be looking to freeman pneumatic in the future for my fastening needs.

I am a handyman by profession and often have jobs that require cement board installation. I had such a project coming up and therefore did quite a bit of research on pneumatic siding nailers before making my purchase. This one was one of the top four and the least expensive. I purchased to install cement siding on a 1200 sq. ft. two car garage and work shop project. It did a great job right out of the box. However I recommend reading the instruction manual first as there are adjustments you need to make prior to loading the nails. Otherwise it requires little adjustment once the air pressure is set correctly (about 95 psi in my case). This nailer works with both wire and plastic collated coil nails. I purchased the plastic collated variety and they worked perfectly. I am quite please with it's performance and would recommend to anyone looking for an inexpensive and reliable product.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great Nailer I'm a professional contractor and have done lots of fences and siding jobs with this nailer the past 3 years. Every once in a while, and I mean very rare, it'll try to shoot 2 nails at a time and jamb, but every other brand has that happen too. Possibly from the coil of nails getting bunched or twisted, but's it's very easy to unjam. Other than than, I've never had a problem with it and I'd buy another one if needed. It also uses standard siding nails.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Good - once I learned how to use it I bought this nailer for a siding/trim install project. Normally I like to go with a name brand tool but in this case I don't think I will be using it much after this project so I couldn't justify the additional cost. Anyway, to the review. When I first started using this nailer it would bend a nail or double fire every third or forth nail. I was very frustrated. I decided to return the Freeman nails I had purchased and got the Hitachi hot dipped from the store. That was already a noticeable improvement. The next ting I did (I'm embarrassed to say) is read the manual. Most every other nail gun I had used previously you press the tip to the wood then pull the trigger. With this nail gun it's the opposite. Hold the trigger then press the tip to the wood. This has stopped almost all bent nails and double shots. So in summary, get good nails and read the manual and I think you will be satisfied with the nail gun.

The included instructions were not great in showing how to adjust the nail adjuster plate to reflect the size nails being used. Once I figured that out, there was minimal issues with using this tool. I used this for a fence replacement using stainless steel coiled nails.

What's the best way to lubricate this? Manual says "oil [to be] added through the air line connection." Does this require an attachment for the compressor (or something else), or can oil be applied through some manual, external method? Thanks.
Posée par: Max
In the box that the tool comes with, there is a small bottle of oil they give you. Put 2-3 drops of oil into the inlet fitting of the gun before you connect it to the airline. Do this everyday you use the gun, or multiple times a day if you are using it long and hard all day. If you need more oil, you can buy air tool lubrication oil at home depot.

Can i use this for vinyl siding installation?

Posée par: Glenn
very handy with coil nails but I have had problems with double fire it has fired maybe 1000 nails and had maybe 1 dozen double fires as far as for vinyl siding no and this is the reason when you nail vinyl you don't I repeat do not want to nail it down tight the siding needs to move during hot weather if nailed tight it will create waves anywhere its tight due to expansion and contraction the best way to prevent this is use roofing nails and a hammer and not nail tight you will get a much nicer job that you will be happy with for years to come I use mine on hardi plank that's a concrete product

Can this siding gun be used to put up soffit siding,

Posée par: Ken
You can put up any wood, composite, cement or fiber siding soffit or fascia. However if you were installing aluminum or vinyl this is not the type of tool you would use you would use a hand t50 stapler and you would use hand pound trim nails or some type of screw. This gun works very well and I have installed a lot of cement Cedar and composite siding with it also a lot of the fascia and soffit products.

Will this gun satisfactorily use Dewalt 15-degree wire-collated siding nails
Posée par: Don
I'm using the grip right 15-degree wire collated siding nails with no problem, I don't see why the Dewalt wouldn't work. I don't recommend the Freeman nails, the box I got with my nailer bent or broke easily

can this siding nsiler be used on vinyl siding and roof shingles

Posée par: vinyl
Not really, to nail siding typically there is a attachment that goes onto the end of a "Roofing" gun not a siding nailer. This shoots a nail similar to framing nails but in a coil rather than a stick. They are thinner, and different materials / finishes, and it also is a softer shot like a trim gun. You are thinking of a roofing nailer that looks just like this. That shoots a shorter nail with a large flat head made for attaching shingles. You may be also thinking of a stapler 1/2" Crown type. Once again this can be used for shingles but "Check with the Manufacturer" to make sure that does not void the warranty. Vinyl siding is a brittle product and you should check to see if the manufacture allows mechanical or pneumatic fastening. If so find a roofing gun or a stapler and find the appropriate end for the vinyl siding application. Hope this helps.
