Homedepot needs to split this packageLast year about this time HD offered a 2 pack of 1-LED, surface mount type, that used one AA, single battery. These incredible little flashlights sold for only like $4.99.
The LED style used was a single surface mount LED
(NOT "9 " of the el cheapo type LEDs).
This year, I searched the entire store. Best I could find was this package of 3 single AA battery flashlights, with the SMC type LED AND 3 of the cheapo 9 LED style lights.
I bought one of the packages for like $9.99 and I kept the 3 one battery, AA, LED flashlights.
I donated the 3, 9-LED flashlights to a local charity.
If you ever have used both types, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the single LED, single AA battery flashlights ROCK; compared to the 9-LED, 3xAAA battery, LED style. (The 9-LED lights suck through batteries and the light just gets dimmier s you use it).
After using the single SMC [surface mount] type of LED flashlights, I just can't go back to using those 9-LED or 7-LED types.
The single LED use the cheap AA (regular or rechargable batteries).
(I use mostly rechargable AA). I have some rechargable AAA, but their amperage is only like 1/3rd that of an AA. And they cost more than AA rechargables.
The single LED, surface mount, are the type used in the maglight retro-fit kits.
At $9.94, I only bought one pkg so far this year.
Not real happy that the single LED "good flashlights" had to be "combined "with the cheapo, battery leeching, 9-LED flashlights.
Would have liked to see a pkg with only the 1 LED type flashlights inside of it.
