Rated 5 de 5 de par I used this to fill the gaps under the door jambs after installing the Dri-Core and laminate flooring. It works very well. It expands about 2x as much as you shoot but any excess can be carved away with a utility knife. What was left over I used to seal around the garage windows. You have to use it all once you open it as it can't be stored. Excellent product. Recommend.

Rated 5 de 5 de par The Is Pro stuff in a can As a contractor I occasionally have the need for foam but cant jutsify the pro guns. This stuff bonds and fill and years later it is still flexible allowing the structure to shift without breaking the seal

Can this be used on foundation cracks, exterior walls?

    Posée par: Anonyme
Great Stuff ™ foams are not designed for underground applications (foundations, insulating pipes, tanks, etc.), the foam should not be exposed to UV light or constant flow of water or it will break down over time. While the foam is often advertised as forming a "waterproof" bond between most substrates, it is not designed for constant exposure to water, the foam should be coated with a waterproof coating or painted once the foam has fully cured, and that takes between 8 to 12 hours.

    around radiator

Can you use this to seal gaps around the radiator? it says it's extremely flammable once dispensed, Im just worried with the heat coming from radiator, is it safe to use this close to radiator and around radiator pipe coming in through the wall , since there is large gap around this pipe.
    Posée par: Anonyme
OCF foams, Great Stuff (TM) should not be used around any heater, furnace, fireplace or recessed lighting fixture where it contacts heat conducting surfaces. The foam will burn if exposed to open flames or sparks from high energy sources such as a welding torch, and it will start to thermally degrade if exposed to temperatures above 240F for long periods of time. The cured foam can handle ambient temperatures up to 240F before thermal degradation starts, which means the foam will break down and could begin to burn. Please make sure that any surface that the Great Stuff (TM) foam comes in contact with stays within the temperature limits stated.

Can great stuff be used in conjunction with rigid foam??

    Posée par: Anonyme
Yes Great Stuff (TM) products can be used in conjunction with the Dow Chemical ridged foam insulation to minimize gaps helping to avoid thermal shorts and decreases air infiltration. Thermal shorts and air infiltration can compromise the thermal efficiency of a wall assembly. If there are holes or cracks in the boards, Dow recommends that they be filled. Depending on the size of the hole or crack there are several possible materials that Dow recommends for use: For larger holes or cracks a spray in place polyurethane such as GREAT STUFF (TM) or equivalent can be used. For smaller holes or cracks, a continuous bead of compatible sealant can be used. Sheathing tape can also be used to place over small cracks. For severe damage to the STYROFOAM (TM) the insulation should be removed and replaced.

What is the R value of the product?

    Posée par: Anonyme
The R-Value for Great Stuff (TM) Big Gap Filler runs between 3 to 3.5 per inch. Great Stuff (TM) Big Gap Filler is designed to fill gaps and holes greater than 1/2 inch to prevent air infiltration.

What foam fill should i use to take up gap under a bathtub?

I want to fill in a gap about 1 inch. My concern is that the foam will expand too much and elevate the tub. The manufacturer recommends mortar. I'd prefer to use an expanding foam. Which product should i use?
    Posée par: Anonyme
Great Stuff (TM) are designed for use in gaps and cracks ONLY. OCF foam Great Stuff (TM) are moisture cured and they form a moisture-proof skin as they cure. The skin (like the shell of an egg) blocks the interior of large sections from receiving moisture eventually resulting in a pool of liquid in the center of the foam. Layering Strategy: it is possible to fill a large void with OCF foam if it is applied in layers. The layers should not be more than an inch thick and should be allowed to fully cure (1 - 2 hours) before the next layer is applied. While the foam is often advertised as forming a "waterproof" bond between most substrates, it is not designed for constant exposure to water. The Compressive Strength of the Great Stuff (TM) products is 6.4 psi so the foam will not support the weight of the bath tub or the water in the bath tub. You should follow the recommendations of the tub manufacturer.
