Rated 1 de 5 de par Poor quality Used once and worked easily; second time a disaster ... nematodes didn't dissolve, solution didn't mix, just didn't work at all. Used recommended sprayer and followed instructions closely. Poor quality product, especially given the cost.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Nematodes do work applicator bottle frustrating This grub product works well unfortunately the spray applicator doesn’t work very well, followed the instructions exactly as written on the label and the tube that picks up the nematodes gets clogged easy , tube keeps falling inside the bottle in the end I ended up dumping the nematodes on the ground. Next application I will need to find another appliance to dispense the nematodes.

Three weeks after application, this nematodes product seems to have greatly reduced grubs under the trees in our front yard. I found that you have to keep the water pressure to the hose end sprayer I also bought very low, after I started spraying it too heavily for the first half of the bottle and had to greatly reduce the amount sprayed to cover the last 65% of the area.

I have used Grub Buster for a few years now with good results, this year the new pouches that contain the nematodes continue to break open in the sprayer (they get caught on the the bottom of the tube) and clog the sprayer so nothing comes out. Help!!

When I did research on how to get rid of slugs from around my strawberries, the grub buster was recommended. Now I see in many comments that it’s good for the white grubs? Is it good for both?

Posée par: Ritzmobile
Hello, our Green Earth Grub Buster nematodes are not recommended for slugs. You can use Green Earth Slug & Bug Killer dust. Thank you!

If it is a sunny day apply it at night when the sun sets or on a cloudy day, but not on a clear sunny day, but in the evening as the sun goes down.

Does this work for Chinch bugs?

Posée par: MarcP
Hello MarcP, The nematode strain that is found in the Grub Buster product is different from the one found in the Chinch Buster product so no, it will not work on Chinch bugs.

I bought this product and not sure if it will work. After vigoursly shaking it still stayed in clumps so I dumped them on the lawn in clumps. Will they still work?

Posée par: Cccc
The clumps that you have been seeing is the alginate which is the carrier that the nematodes are shipped in. It is meant to be left behind in the gel like clumps as you do not want it going through the sprayer where it would cause clogging. It should not be removed from the “tea bags” and put in the sprayer. The gel is meant to be contained, throughout the whole process, within the tea bags" ... otherwise irrecoverable blockage will occur. The tea bags should NOT be opened/perforated. The nematodes are released quickly into the sprayer from the “tea bags”. Once it is all emptied then you can be assured that the were released and you can then dump out the alginate. Once it is all emptied then you can be assured that they were released and you can then dump out the alginate.

Soil temperature

.I heard soil temp must be 10+ degrees before application or nematodes could die. Is this correct?
Posée par: Anonyme
I've read that too, that the soil should be in the 10-15 degree range before applying the nematodes. I think it has more to do with making sure the grub larvae are nice and close to the surface so the nematodes can find them more easily; after all, the nematodes are stored in fridges that are a lot cooler than ten degrees.
