[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This review is for the GROHE Tallinn Single-Handle 1-Spray Tub and Shower Faucet in Starlight Chrome (Valve Included) The finish on this set is high quality: much better than I was expecting at this price point. Man of the different shower sets that I had been looking at were north of five hundred dollars, so I was glad to have come across this one to replace a fifteen year old faucet and shower head. The shower head is large and sends down lots of water over an eleven inch wide area at the higher point. The install is pretty involved if you install all pieces in the kit.

That's the first thing that comes to my mind when asked to describe this. This is part of a bathroom addition that's in the framing stage. This set is a beauty. Very nice looking. Love the brushed nickel. Great quality. Even better that it comes with the mixing valve. That not only takes the guesswork out but makes it a great value. BTW, do not try to install your self unless you have plumbing experience. There is copper sweating that will need to be completed to install the new mixing valve.

The valve was included. I'm very impressed with the look and the quality of this shower-tub faucet kit. I've installed other well known high end brands and in my opinion, the quality of this trim kit is superior. The valve is very stout, fairly straight forward to install, and is also a welcome feature since the valve is really the heart of the shower-tub faucet. The finish and weight of the the trim is very nice and for my barn-dominium application looks fantastic.

I am installing in an existing shower which will require plumbing modifications to be done by a plumber...not an easy screw in type replacement to the existing fixtures. The valve needed for installation is included with the kit though, and the directions aren't overly complex, but more than someone not comfortable with plumbing would want to tackle themselves. I also have the matching faucet for my sink, so this will add a sleek new look to my bathroom when completed.

The added backing plates at the spout and shower head pipe where it meets the wall is an excellent design that helps to make the installation look seamless. The valve is a typical screw thread, so no need to solder right next to the valve, and it has features to adjust the temp balance. Installation was typical, but make sure you are ready to redo the tile if this is being used for a refit instead of new construction. I replaced my entire master bath plumbing, so this was not an issue for me. The fittings were well packaged and the finish looks great, even after a few uses.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would recommend the TALLINN SINGLE-HANDLE 1-SPRAY TUB AND SHOWER FAUCET IN STARLIGHT CHROME (VALVE INCLUDED) because in some cases you can buy the shower units and they don't come with the valve and some of the valves cost as much as $80.00, so it great this unit comes with the valve. This unit is a good unit of relative value with about an average to good Quality rating, I believe it's a nice unit and made better with the addition of the valve in the package, it is not a super-high quality but is a good value to the purchaser.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The price point of this faucet makes it a great value, particularly considering it's a Grohe product. Despite it's reasonable cost, Grohe has included the rough in valve and maintained their high quality chrome finish plated on thick and heavy casting. The escutcheon plates, shower arm, handle, and tub spout are all quite heavy. The 8" square shower head is also metal, although it does have a lighter weight to allow it to stay positioned to the desired tilt without its own weight causing it to flop. The rough in valve has 1/2" FPT for the hot and cold inlets, as well as the shower outlet and the tub outlet. Installation of the rough in valve, as well as trim, is pretty standard for shower/tub faucets. If you don't have experience installing this type of faucet, it's probably best to leave it to a plumber. The faucet valve works smoothly and flawlessly. The design is a simple one, and the handle is quite large and heavy. This faucet has all the qualities of a more pricier model from Grohe.

Hi Hank, for this GROHE Tallinn Single-Handle 1-Spray Tub and Shower Faucet in Starlight Chrome (Valve Included), if ordered on Homedepot.com, will be purchased and shipped as it appears on Homedepot.com. Some customers complained that 1. The temperature marking on the trim is wrong. Does the manufacturer provide a new trim plate? 2. Can temperature and volume of water be controlled by the single handle?

Helo CF2W, If the temperature marking is truly printed incorrectly, yes, this will be corrected with a new trim plate. The proper marking is a red dot on the left of the plate and a blue dot on the right. The pressure is constant and cannot be adjusted. Just the temperature can be adjusted. Why does the chrome come with a valve and the brushed nickel does not? Why wont this ship to California? It adheres to the July 2018 water code for 1.8 for shower and 1.2 for faucet.

The choice to include a value or not must be with the engineers back at Grohe and the accountants. Maybe the nickel is more costly and the value puts it over a certain price point? Also, the "CA" is probably not California ... rather Canada. Maybe it's a tariff thing?

The components were all metal. There may be some internal components (washers, tubing) made of other materials but shower head, controls, etc. are all metal.

Hello, I had this faucet installed by a plumber 2 weeks ago, the handle goes only from the middle to the right side and hot water comes out first, Isn’t the handle suppose to go to the left and right ? I know the valve is not upside down. What does it mean that the cartridge might be reserved ? How can I fix it ?

The hot and cold are reversed into the sides of the valve. The cartridge can be removed and rotated 180 degrees and reinserted into the valve to fix this issue.
