Rated 5 de 5 de par Spectacular This is an outstanding product. Very easy installation, very well constructed and the end result is spectacular. The tiles interlock with no mortar or glue required. An assembly tip: don’t let individual tiles sit in the sun while you are assembling the deck as they will expand slightly as they get hot, making the interlock step almost impossible until you let it cool down. Either that or keep them all exposed to the sun so they reach the same temperature do assembly. I recommend this product highly.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Wood Tiles Don't bother with these tiles unless ur deciding good outdoor finish on it!!! We redid our deck with these and within 6 months the weather stripped all the topping of the tiles.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Nothing better in the market at this price point! Amazing product. Much better than any other comparable product in the market. I noticed an improved base for better connect-ability. It also appears they are dual coated to help last longer against winter conditions.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great Deck Tiles! I bought these deck tiles for my condo balcony a couple weeks ago, and love how they look! Very easy to snap together and create different shapes and designs - especially since I wanted to build them around a rectangular piece of fake grass I also bought at THD.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Waste of money, This is the worst product I have bought from Home depot. Descriptions says outdoor, this is totally wrong. rain and snow will destroy this. Installed in December 2023, and behold just under a couple of months is total garbage. I would love to give zero stars if i could. Total waste of money, time and frustrating to have such on your deck.

Can these be laid over a compacted aggregate base with geotec to keep the weeds out?

Posée par: Ross
Yes although you’ll want to make sure the base is pretty smooth. I would suggest a thin layer of compacted crushed fines above the aggregate base, then the geotec layer on top. High spots from larger gravel pieces would pose a problem for the underside footings of the deck tiles. The whole deck doesn’t have to be completely level or flat but just make sure there aren’t any sudden high spots. I’ve put the decking on concrete with a gradual sloping profile to a central drain, which is certainly within the ability of the tiles to conform to a non-level shape. So smooth out the aggregate and sand layer, compact it smooth, then lay down the geotec. One tip for you; when assembling the tiles keep them all the same temperature otherwise expansion and contraction while assembling the deck will give you problems trying to snap the tiles together. In other words don’t let some tiles sit in the sun while others are in the shade. After it’s built of course that is no problem; the deck will expand and contract without difficulty.

Please note what type of coating is required for protection the surface of the wood oil base or water base before any signs of change in color or cracks.Al

We were also wondering the same thing. This product was easy enough to put down, we haven't yet cut the product, we are waiting for someone who knows what they are doing. we are hoping the product does weather appropriately. we are trying this product because we had to sand & stain our original deck yearly, way too much work!

How long does the factory finish last on the tiles? Can the tiles be refinished once the original finish wears? If so how is it done and what product is used to refinish?

Posée par: Gord MacDonald
The original finish can last for several years or longer if it is properly maintained and used. IMPORTANT RETAIN FOR FUTURE REFERENCE: READ CAREFULLY This wooden Dectile is pre-treated with water-based wood stain to make the surface durable enough for outdoor use. However, wood is a natural material that will age and require further maintenance depending on the climate and use. For example, rain, snow, sunlight, and abrasion from usage can accelerate discoloring and ageing. The best way to extend the life of your wooden outdoor floor decking is by cleaning it regularly, and re-staining it on a regular basis. MAINTENANCE You can easily refresh your wooden outdoor floor decking and make it more durable by retaining it on a regular basis, for example once a year. You may need to re-stain the floor decking more frequently, depending on the climate you live in and the floor decking’s exposure to sun and rain. Re-staining prevents the surface from drying out and cracking and moisture from penetrating into the wood. A good indication that you need to re-stain is if raindrops are absorbed directly into the wood and no longer form small beads on the surface. HOW TO REFINISH THE COATING If the products are discolored, you can use sandpaper 320# to sand the tile surface, apply water-based coat on the surface (same color as the original) with wiping cloth, apply a glossy finish after 60 minutes. If the tiles have worn out the glossy finish, you can use sandpaper 400# to sand the surface and apply the gloss coat.

Can I use heat trace under these to melt ice and snow on the winter?

Posée par: Yung daddy
You can use heat trace to melt snow and ice in winter, but the heat should be below 49oC (120oF) for about 10 hours. You shouldn’t use it for too long to avoid making the plastic base brittle. The best way to preserve wooden tiles is to remove snow regularly on snowy days and re-stain them when the tile surface becomes discolored.

What do you do with the outside edges?

You could cover the perimeter with small stones to disguise the exposed edge.

I have an outside room 12 by 12 - How many boxes would I need to cover this?

Posée par: Ann Gordon
It says in the title and description each tile is 11.75 inches. A 12x12 room would need 144 tiles (16 bundles). You would be left with a 3 inch gap around the perimeter of the room which you could fill with stones or simply leave vacant.
