I looked at it for a long time and finally ordered it. It has all of the features I wanted (wine rack, seating at one end, storage space -- some of which are not found on other non-customized kitchen islands. I did the entire construction myself (I am a 50+, 5' 4" woman) and, other than the heavy weight of the piece to flip over -- I had no troubles. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that one of the parts had a serious defect. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent a replacement part immediately, but it delayed the completion of the construction by several days which was problematic since it was in the middle of my kitchen and unusable during that time.

I would recommend two people putting this together. It makes it much easier. Only had two wholes that didn't line up and had to drill new holes for wood screws that did not show. Makes a great work space with plenty of storage. We have had many compliments on how it looks in our kitchen.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Kitchen island Product was damaged upon arrival. Packaging was intact with no problems so item had to have been damaged prior to packaging. Other than being damaged great piece. Home Depot responded quickly to complaint and resolved issue.

When facing the front of the island, does the extension pull out to the left or to the right?

This functional piece features two pull-through storage drawers, two cabinet doors on each side, so that makes the previously given answer both right and wrong as you can flip the slide-out to the left or the right and face the front unless the wine ports don't go through as well. But, you would have the doors and drawers and shelving on both sides.

Is the storage accessible from both sides of island?

It looks exactly the same on both side. There are two drawers and on cupboard (with 1 shelf) that can all be accessed from both sides. I thought this was odd at first, but it prevents items from being lost in the back of a deep cupboard or drawer. Everything is easily accessible!

Do the wine rack slots fit a large 1.5 liter bottle of wine?

The spaces for wine will only hold a standard sized bottle. There is no way to adjust them, but there are 24 spaces so hold more than enough bottles!

Does it come in white

I never found it in any color than black. They really should provide more color options because it is a great island but not everyone wants black. I put off buying for a few years hoping to find it in another color. I finally broke down and bought the black and am happy with it. I thought it would be too dark in a kitchen that doesn't get much light, but it is so attractive and the black makes a great accent and so I am quite satisfied.
