    Rated 5 de 5 de par Awesome Thermostat! We purchased this thermostat about a year ago and absolutely love it! Every month Honeywell sends us a report via email re our montly usage we’ve had and they compare it with the previous year. We have saved at least $1000 this year alone on heating and cooling because of this thermostat. I would recommend it to anyone looking for one to buy the high end which is this one of the Honeywell brand. Hands-down this is the best thermostat to buy!

    Rated 5 de 5 de par Major upgrade from my standard thermostat Great unit that keeps our house comfortable day and night. The app works great and we made schedules. Works with our Rinnai Air Handler system, but I had to add the C Wire myself at install (I was lucky that there was an extra wire in the bundle in the wall).

    Rated 1 de 5 de par After owning this thermostat a year, it started having constant web connection problems. Error me... After owning this thermostat a year, it started having constant web connection problems. Error messages "server error" "cannot connect to server" "Server may be down" "Internal Error occurred" (often written in incorrect/broken english), etc. The connection started to go down EVERY night, such that the program schedule would not be followed; i.e., the thermostat doesn't turn furnace on at scheduled times. Worst of all is that the furnace WOULD automatically turn on during times that connection was down, so that every morning at 7am heat was on when it should not have been, no matter the house temperature. House would be too hot plus cost me money for unscheduled gas use. No response to emails; long wait times for phone support. This company is not managing its technology well enough to support their product promises. Don't spend the extra $ for wireless features.

Their customer support telephone system routinely just hangs up on you because of their high volume of calls with so many problems. Their servers routinely go down so my smartphone app or website will not respond or control my thermostats (I have two of these located in separate states). Sometimes they will answer their internet "chat" support app and often they are not even aware their server is not operational, but they are always indifferent and just ask for your understanding while they resolve their server problems. So far this week they been down 4 times, just that I know of.

I purchased it for the WiFi features. Unfortunately, the Honeywell servers go down often and I lose the ability. The thermostat isn't accurate with actual temps in the house. I would say go with an Ecobee instead.

    Can I connect this thermostat to an air exchanger?

    Hi Jamie! The RTH9580WF thermostat works with common 24 volt systems such as forced air, hydronic, heat pump, oil, gas, and electric. It will not work with millivolt systems, such as a gas fireplace, or with 120/240 volt systems such as baseboard electric heat.     My old thermostat has these cables: W1, Y1, G, R, C & O, this thermostat is compatible? and how I can connect W1 with O in the same W-O/B. Thanks

    Hi ANTHONY! In order to wired up the RTH9580WF for a heat pump you will just use the O wire from the old thermostat and put in into the O/B terminal for the change over valve. Your W1 wire will go to the W on the new thermostat terminal for heat.     Can you set this thermostat to turn only the fan on/off, on a schedule?

    Hi Ron! You can setup the Honeywell Smart Wi-Fi Colour Thermostat with a fan schedule. Once your thermostat is registered on the My Total Connect Comfort website, you will be able to set up different scheduling options, including scheduling fan run times. You will do this through the same website - My Total Connect Comfort. If you need any help setting up your schedule, feel free to contact our customer support at 1-800-468-1502.     Does the thermostat display stay on all the time or does it turn off after a some time?

    Hi Homer2017! The Smart Wi-Fi Colour Thermostat has an adjustable inactive backlight, allowing to set the brightness of the screen when the thermostat is not in use. A brightness level of 0 means the backlight will not be visible even in lit rooms. A setting of 10 means that the backlight will be at full brightness at all times and no visible dimming of the display after a period of inactivity. Hope this answers your question. .

    What does the thermostat do with the outside temperature? Does it use it to advance the heating turn on when it is cold outside, or just display it on the device screen?

    Hi JimD! The outdoor temperature is displayed on the main screen of your thermostat as well as in the application. Hope this helps!
