Rated 5 de 5 de par A quality fine tooth ratchet with lifetime warranty [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Husky branded 3/8-inch ratchet is a quality tool complimenting my minimal collection of fine tooth ratchets. It is definitely a fine tooth ratchet and will loosen/tighten nuts with just under a 4-degree swing. What is especially nice is the fact it comes with a lifetime warranty from Home Depot which instills confidence this tool will last. Ratchet head appears to have a non-sealed ratchet head making it field rebuildable which is eco-friendly leaving less scrap for the landfill. I do wish however it had a knurled finish on the handle versus the smooth round grip which to me is troublesome if you have greasy hands.

This was included in a set I purchased at Home depot maybe a year and a half ago. I keep it in one of my trucks and it seldom gets used. Looks and feels like a good product but it's not. First one failed got a replacement. Now the second one has failed. Basically the lever to change from loosen to tighten becomes jammed and ceases to function. Lifetime warranty doesn't mean anything if the product is poorly designed and manufactured. Not sure what to do. If I get another replacement I assume that it will fail as well.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Easy to change sockets from tool [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ratchet arrived today it is a long handle fine tooth quick release model. I had a chance to try it out on my lawn mower while changing the blade, I liked the way you can push a button and the socket comes right off. It is also a fine tooth ratchet which means you can work in close quarters and still turn the bolt. I do have some Snap-On ratchets and this Husky works just as well as they do if not better.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Looks Good and Feels Good [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This black anodized 3/8th inch drive ratchet has a nice weight to it and it is a little lower in profile than my other 3/8th inch drive ratchets by around 1/8th inch (see photo). The socket engagement and release button sits flush with the head of the tool making the direction control lever the most protruding part of the back of the tool. Sockets engage securely and the fine 100 tooth wheel means that just 3.6 degrees of movement is necessary in order to engage the next gear tooth. A very useful feature when working in a tight spot. A split ring and cover keeps the internal parts in place and protected from dirt. The cover is very easy to remove if access to the internal parts is required. The tool length is 9-3/16 inches. There are longer handled ratchets out there but the overall compactness of this ratchet with a head width of 1-1/8th inch and height of 15/16ths will win over many. The legendary Husky Guaranteed Forever warranty and keen pricing are sure to make this ratchet a popular addition to many a tool set.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Didn't last long I only used this for trim and light duty stuff, but it fell apart in the middle of a job. I actually reassembled it and it works fine, but I have to say, it was a first. I wish I had bought something else.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Easy to use and strong [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nothing is worse than a finicky ratchet. That was my problem, after 25 years my old one would no longer change directions. So it was time for a new one. This Husky 3/8" ratchet is made of substantial steel. It has a good amount of weight for something so slender. The handle is also about a foot long which provides some great torque when you need it. I also appreciate the switch based left/right ratchet locking. It makes switching directions a breeze. Last thing to mention is the 3/8" head & ball. This ball does not actually have a spring behind it directly. Meaning you do not just push/pull the socket onto the ratchet head. Instead it is locked in place by a push-button on the ratchet head. I am pleased with this solution. Seems to be well constructed and I have hopes it will last me 25+ years also.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Solid ratchet [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a solid ratchet for its size. It feels very rugged in my hand when I first picked up. It's beautifully crafted, with industrial grade material. It has a very smooth black finish that certainly will prevent rust and corrosion. The select lever is locate on the top. The reversing switching is quite smooth. The drive is 3/8 in. with a push button to release your socket. The is a great feature to ensure the socket will not fall out when inserted into the ratchet. The ratchet comes with a sleek, elegant handle. Great ratche!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great leverage [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While advertised as being a "Long Handle" ratchet, at the advertised 9.23" length, it really falls in between the standard length and true longer length (10.5") 3/8" drive ratchets when compared to other manufacturers. Still though, it is longer and does offer increased leverage. Ratcheting mechanism is a very fine rotation and with 100 positions, is about 3.6 degrees per click engagement. Quick release button is a nice feature.

It's a dual pawl mechanism with 50 pawls each. So not a true 100 tooth ratchet but it does offer a tighter swing.

How long is this ratchet. Description says overall length is 9.3" but it also says the handle length is 10.4". So how long is it actually? An aside note-I have noticed that listings on HD site are terrible when it comes to size of items.

What is the actual 'thickness' of the head itself - discounting the length of the 3/8" male socket pin. Reason? ... Want to know if its worth buying to use in a very tight area.

Posée par: Old and Wise
Hello, The head thickness without the dirve tang is 0.54 inches.
