Rated 5 de 5 de par My Favorite Ratchet I bought this after I bought the 3/8 version. This ratchet is great in hard to reach places where you need leverage. My brother's car has an awkward positioned oil drain bolt and now no problem with the flexibility and length on this ratchet. I also used it taking the brake caliper mounting bolts on my truck where my breaker bar was too big. Took them off and put them back on no problem. (These bolts were torqued at 130 ft lbs). I've even used it to pull a steering wheel. This ratchet's size, flexibility, and high gear count put it in a class that competes with the big boys. I highly recommend this to pros and weekend warriors alike.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Solid Product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My review will be a comparison of this versus my other large department store ratchet. This product is heavier than my current 1/2" ratchet, 12" versus 10-1/4" long, engages immediately rather than after a small lag, has a recessed as opposed to a protruding ratchet release, has a barrel shaped as opposed to a flat handle, and has a head profile of 3/4" rather than 7/8". I assume this 1/8" shaving is why it is called low profile. It is black except for the ratchet connection and reverse switch which are unpainted steel. It comes in a package that could be reused as a hanging holder if you are so inclined.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Works Well [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 1/2" drive, extended length handle, 100 position ratcheting drive not only looks good but operates well. The extended number of ratcheting positions allows for a mere 3.6 degrees of movement between "clicks" allowing for ratcheting capabilities in even the tightest of locations. The handle is a bit longer than an ordinary socket driver making it all that more useful in hard to reach places AND allows for greater torque. Lastly, this ratchet features a ball detent lock firmly holding sockets or extensions in place to prevent them from falling free of the ratchet. Can't wait to get my hands on a 3/8" drive!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Very comfortable and amazing in tight spots [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are many tight spaces under the hood of modern cars, so ratchets like this are a great help in getting both torque and turn in an engine compartment. In places where I could hardly get one click out of my trusty old ratchet I can get five with this. I can position this for just the right amount of room to really apply torque and the shape of the handle saves the hand a lot of soreness. It's even repairable, so it should last a very long time. The black finish can make it hard to see in tight spaces, but the coating makes it much less slippery than polished chrome.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Nice tool [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have no argument against this tool. The low profile head might allow getting into those tight spots where a standard size ratchet might not fit. With a 3.6 degree click along with nice long handle, torque should no longer be a concern. The handle is exceptionally comfortable as it has a design made for firm torque, but might cause a concern with greasy hands. I like the socket button lock/release. Positive action in anything that moves on this tool. The mechanics within the head are accessible for maintenance, if needed. I highly recommend this tool.

After 20 years using a craftsman 1/2 drive, I decided it was time to start building a second set so my kids would have their own for cars/projects/their own tools to steal/lose and keep mine safe. I bought this and was immediately hooked on the low profile and smooth action when changing Drive directions. It will be a question of longevity (mine as much as the ratchet’s) but if it works like this every time, I might have a harder time making a second set than I thought. Strong, smooth, low-profile and easy to operate. Can’t beat it.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great ratchet Purchased the 1/2” and 3/8” version along with the Husky 200 piece socket set (item H200MSS). Love the 100 position ratchets for tight spaces and they are all I use now. These ratchets (including the black 1/4”) along with the 200 piece socket set from husky make a perfect set, with no filler, for under $300.

Rated 5 de 5 de par The Best Thing Ever! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best thing ever! I mean that! I have had to use ratchets in so many instances that I couldn't actually get to ratchet because of the lack of room. This 100 point system worked for me in slots of even only just over double the width of the handle. We are talking just over an inch or so wide. (Yeah, it took forever, but it worked). I'm a huge fan. The quality is also very high. This is heavy, well made and says it has a lifetime warranty. I feel confident I wont need it but if I do I like this.

Where is this made?

I try not to by items made in China.
Posée par: freddybear
Like most products, it is made in China. Don't believe the hype that China products are of the same quality as one other person said. One just needs to look at the difference between USA Craftsman and China made Craftsman. ALL these Chinese made products have a shorter lifespan. Look at the older Dewalt and Milwaukee products that works for decades. You wont find that with the new "same quality" china crap they want you to believe.

Why can’t I find any black husky sockets in this drive?

Posée par: Jose
I believe the only black sockets they sell are in the black mechanics sets (H100105MTS) They only sell the chrome sockets individually unless you want to by impact sockets. I have the 100 positions ratchets in all three sizes and purchased the Husky 200 piece socket set (H200MSS) to to go with them. This set has just about every size socket Husky makes.

What is the actual 'thickness' of the head itself - discounting the length of the 3/8" male socket pin. Reason? ... Want to know if its worth buying to use in a very tight area.

Posée par: Old and Wise
Hello, The head thickness without the dirve tang is 0.54 inches.
