Rated 4 de 5 de par Heavy duty quick tubing cutter I have had multiple tubing cutters sized for small tubes, thumb size for those hard to reach tubes, and then to 4 inch drain pipe.. This cutter is definitely a time saver when doing large plumbing jobs. no more twisting until you finally get to the pipe. Just a quick slide of the roller blade, and you start the cut. The cutter is definitely heavy duty, and could easily cut any material up to its max sized pipe. This is a cutter which is very good for those that have lots of plumbing to do. I certainly would recommend it. The only issue which I could even mention would be its large size. You will of course need a small cutter still for those tight places when working on installed plumbing.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Cuts Better than Expected [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Quick Release 2-1/8 in. Tube Cutter cuts a variety of different types of tubing with the greatest of ease. I don't cut a lot of tubing so I have been using a mini hacksaw to do the job. The saw did not make a very clean or straight cut. When I received this Tube Cutter I was very excited to see how it would cut the spare tubing and pipe I had available. It cut a 1 1/8" pvc and1/2" cpvc pipe in seconds. Next I cut a 5/8" plastic electrical conduit just as quickly. I was really amazed when I cut a 3/4" galvanized pipe with very little more effort than it had taken to cut the plastic tubing. I love this Tube cutter. It cuts up to 2 1/8". I recommend this product.

Rated 5 de 5 de par one the best that i operate with [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this is the one off the best pipe cutter that i worked with i cut M type (commercial) copper pipe without big effort whatsoever. the quick release/adjust is just a bonus on the tool I'm a maintenance guy dealing with everything if this cutter wore before on the shelf I would buy it in a heartbeat. in the handle there is extra cutting while also a bonus, if you are a plumber or electrician do not hesitate it will speed up your installation for more than 30%

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great Pro Grade Cutters As a plumbing pro I really like these cutters, and not just because of the great price. These 2" plus cutters are really extremely well built, solid aluminum body keeps the weight down and is a stronger metal than a lot of the junk pot metals out there. It has a smooth ratcheting closed action, which makes adjustment a easy thing. The only flaw is the release button, which is tiny, could be a bit bigger but it still works well. It cuts smooth and easy also when the first wheel gets dull it comes with a second on in the handle. I would buy these over other brands and not just to save a few bucks.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Heavy Duty [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Never seen a pipe cutter this heavy duty. I am use to the small ones used for cutting copper. This is the real deal and a good addition to any tool bag. Cuts copper, aluminium and brass with ease. The quick release and quick clamping saves a lot of annoying time. Has a heavy duty blade which makes the cutting less labor attentive. Comes with a spare blade in the knob. Cool reamer addition tucks away in the handle.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Very good quality tube cutter and reamer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one hefty tube cutter and it works like a fine quality C clamp with a quick clamp release feature. I used the knob to adjust to a steel electric conduit, quickly cut through it, and used the knob to adjust it back. I then repeated using the quick release (small red knob) to adjust to the electric conduit, cut it again, and used the quick release to remove the conduit. This is one smooth tool. There is a slide out reamer in the cutter body and an extra blade in the knob. My only gripe is there are no directions with this tool but it's so good I'm rating it five stars.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Works okay [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works well. I was cutting 1" steel tubing with ease. The quick release is a nice feature, and the whole unit feels pretty good in the hand. I actually used it to cut a piece off of a black iron pipe and it worked for that too, it just took a little more work. I did notice that when using it, it felt a little flimsy as I was tightening the turn handle to make the next cutting rotation, but it didn't break, fall off, fall apart, or stop cutting. The cutting wheels are replaceable. I like it, I think it does a fine job, just not sure why it was a little wobbly when I was tightening it.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Quickly adjusts to pipe size My other pipe cutters are the regular type and you have to spin the adjuster to fit the pipe size. With this you slide the lever and pull open the adjuster, place the cutter on the pipe and press the adjuster until it contacts the pipe and you are set. The cutter works well and I like the spare cutting wheel included, in case I break one I won't have to run to the store to finish the job. It may seem like a little thing but I find my self reaching for the quick adjustable cutter over my other ones for the ease of use and time savings. Now I am thinking of replacing my other sizes with quick adjusters.

how short of a piece can be cut off?

Example, if i have a 2' long pipe, can i cut off a 1/4", or does the tool require a longer cut off piece, in order to get a square cut
Posée par: simplesimon
You might have a hard time cutting off a 1/4" since this is a large tool. I know that i was able to cut off 1/2" without any problems. If you want smaller cuts then look for a smaller tool but keep in mind the diameter of the pipe you are going to cut. This tool can cut up to 2 and 1/8" diameter pipes.

I bought mine to use on galvanized steel chain-link fence post and railing, and it did an amazing job. So I should think it can handle aluminum pipe no problem.

Will this cutter work to cut pvc pipe

Posée par: Youngjoe27
PVC should be no problem. Just make sure that your blade is new and you take your time rolling the cutter around the pipe. Dont get tempted to turn the clamp too hard as it will crack the PVC. Do 1 turn and roll the cutter back and forth a couple of time and then do half a turn and repeat.
