Rated 5 de 5 de par The Quick Release makes this thing AWESOME Let's face it. A tubing cutter isn't the most glamorous tool in the toolbox, but....... Anytime I can save time and become more efficient, I'LL TAKE IT! The cutting action is the same as any other cutter out there. The HIGHLIGHT is the quick release that allows you to open up the cutter blade for your next cut. Man, that is a time saver. With the flick of the little lever, you slide the cutting wheel area open to get it over the diameter of your next cut and then slide it tight against the material so you are ready to start cutting your next piece. As a bonus, there is a spare cutting wheel in the handle. Very nice add-on

Rated 5 de 5 de par Husky Quick Release 1 1/8in Mini Tube Cutter I needed a small tube cutter to get in to close area where the big wouldn't fit. This one I liked because it well made and will not break under pressure cutting the tubing. I really like the quick release to slide it opening or closing. Other units you have to adjust with the knob. Press of the quick release and you have closer to tubing so you make the cut. It comes with a replacement cutting wheel inside the knob. What a great idea. If the cutter wheel breaks you don't have to stop what you doing and run to the store and get another one to replace it. The knob is large enough do get a good grip to turn the knob when cutting. Great product!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Nice tool and a great value I bought this to cut the 1-1/8" steel steerer on a bicycle suspension fork. I'd planned to use a hacksaw and a blade guide, but was unable to find a suitable guide. However, I think this nifty little tool probably made the job easier anyway. The quick adjust feature is great and the the tool holds its track nicely unlike some of the super cheapo cutters I've read about. I had to make two cuts to size the fork right for my bike and it made pretty quick work of it. Since it did such a great job on steel, cutting copper tubing with it should be a breeze if I ever need it for a plumbing repair. It's so compact I just hope I can find it if I need it!

Rated 1 de 5 de par Worked For 5 Minutes The initial opinon of this tubing cutter was a sense of quality. It was made of good sturdy metal & worked well when operating it out of the package. It probably is a good product but my experience was different. When trying to cut 1/4" copper tubing, the first two pieces were cut quickly & easily. The cuts were smooth & the quick release greatly reduced the time between cuts. On the 3rd piece, the quick release button top fell off. The tiny screw that held it in place was nowhere to be found. Now with the quick release feature disabled, it was just a standard tubing cutter. The screw will be replaced (using a thread locker) but this failure during first use is a disappointment.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Good small tubing cutter I like the compact size, able to get into small spaces, but able to be spun without the resistance that cheaper brands seem to have. I really like the quick release, and the jaw opening is enough to handle most "residential" sizes of tubing. I've only cut copper so far but should work just fine on other thin-walled metals. Also cuts straight, like it should, but worth mentioning of course.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Nice cutter! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This handy cutter has some nice features. First, the quick release is very nice to have, allowing quick placement and removal from the pipe. Simply squeeze the red ‘button’ and the base together and the blade assembly can be moved freely along the threaded shaft. Next, there is a spare blade inside the tool, for that time when you are on the jobsite and the old blade won’t cut it anymore. The tool is easy to handle, Cutting copper pipe is a breeze, after about 2 turns the pipe comes apart with a nice clean cut. The range of pipe sizes is great too, ⅛” all the way up to 1-⅛” It has a forever warranty (which excludes the cutting blade of course).

It's nice to have the quick-release to be able to cut different size tubes a lot quicker then opening or closing constantly. Two complaints about it: First. The red cap that comes with it kept popping off. All this cap is supposed to do, is cover the storage for extra cut wheels. I ended just tossing it. The second issue is that if you have the blade up/knob down, it doesn't adjust well. I think this is because of the weight of the bottom part causes the cutter to close. These are not huge issues for me but worth noting.

It cuts pipe, but I experienced issues cutting 1/2" copper - my main purpose for the purchase. Even taking very minimal depth per round, it bends the pipe at the cut edge on 1/2" pipe - seems no way to avoid it. This may be a function of a larger cutter wheel - other small cutters I've had included a smaller and probably narrower wheel that allowed a clean and unbent cut on 1/2". It operates fine and well may be a good choice on pipe larger than 1/2". The quick release is convenient. it cut straight every time, and the slightly larger size than typical 1/2" cutters gave good leverage.

Cutting 1'8" tube?

Posée par: JimB
Most of the water pipes in residential settings are 1/2 " or 3/4". This pipe cutter handles copper pipes up to 1" of diameter.

Will this cut copper tube under bathroom sinks? Old house (1980) was solder need to cut above or below for new connects.FM

Posée par: Fmdoityourself
I would try a different cutter. This thing doesn't last long and wasn't worth the money. It will cut a small pipe or two then it's trash.

Does this tool normally come with instructions because mine didn't ?

Posée par: Terryb
No, just place the pipe that youd like to cut in the opening of the tool, then push the top and bottom of the 'c' shape together and it will stop when you clamp the pipe any longer. From there spin it slowly as you keep pressure on the pipe and it will cut your pipe

Can this cutter cut through EMT (Electrical Metallic Tubing)? Thanks.

Posée par: IANLUI
Yes. I used it to cut through 1” EMT to build a golf simulator. Wrist was sore and it went in the garbage once I was done but it did the job.

Will this cut 1" stainless steel tubing? Like 304.

Posée par: Mike
Not sure if it will cut stainless, but I wouldn't use this tool for it. This cutter is intended for soft materials like "copper, brass, aluminum and thin-wall conduit" (item description). You would probably wear the cutting disc out much faster, if it worked at all.

Details do not give the overall dimension from far end of to the top of the cutter knob. This will be of great help in making sense of its size and reduce returns.

I agree. It'd be an important piece of info in the specs. The answer is: 3.5".
